I think I'm just thrown off by the strength of Flair's genes. I see the darkened eye sockets and fluffy hair and all I can think of is a young Nature Boy. It's scary.

Quite a match, though. I'm a fan.

I see a lot of Vince in Stephanie. It's chilling but I can deal with it.

You see, here's your main problem.

As much as the popularity has plateaued (and declined tbh) it's still the biggest MMA Organization in the world. Staying where it is or becoming bigger is all he cares about. They need stars to get bigger but they've got the talent to stay where they are now.

At least Dana is entertaining, even if he's a hypocrite. His interviews are gold, no other sports has their presidents putting employees on blast on a whim

He isn't a promoter in the usual sense though. He cares about the brand more than about how his fighters look. He could give two shits who is in there fighting so long as "UFC" as a brand is popular.

This. I've said the same before.

But if people think the fighters are cowards or ducking fights it hurts the brand.

Only if the fighters are synonymous with the brand. Jones isn't. Dana will only hitch that wagon onto fighters who take on anyone, anytime. Anybody who hesitates or negotiates match ups won't get that promotional push.

I just came across Christy Mack playing Zatanna in a Batman porn parody.

I'll be in my bunk, see you guys later.

Per Meltzer, UFC Fight Pass is now discounting long term subscriptions, with concern from Zuffa that people aren’t staying with the product.

New UFC Fight Pass pricing. Still $9.99/month, but 6 months now 53.94 ($8.99 per month), 1 year subscriptions at $95.88 ($7.99 per month).

Meltzer also noted that all new subscriptions for UFC Fight Pass, even the 1 year commitment, auto renew unless the user cancels.

Ok I just started watching this NXT Takeover thing and yeah that is a smarky crowd.. Love the Lemon Party sign referring to Adam Rose's gimmick.

Looking forward to this Charlotte you all speak of.

EDIT: yup, Charlotte is the indeed the truth, friends. Yet like Heel I feel conflicted because I do see traces of those trademark facial features passed down from daddy Ric.

Dana is literally blown away by the success of Fight Pass, literally.

Just another flip flop from Dana, nothing new. Next is bringing back Paul Daley even though he said he would "never" fight in the UFC again just like Marquart.

How many guys that Dana said would "never" fight in the UFC again in the last 7 years actually never fought in the UFC again? It seems like he says that a few times a year and those guys are always back within a year or two and it is never mentioned again.

If they put the PPV's in the Fight Pass at $10/month, I'd jump on board without hesitation. I'd pay for two years upfront. As stated, most of the content they are charging for used to be free and now they're trying to squeeze money out of us without making the product better. Good luck with that Dana.

Yea that's why you can't take anything he says at face value. He'll say anything to fit his agenda at the time and has no issues flip flopping on any topic.

Josh Barnett is the only one I can think of not counting any fighter that showed up in EA MMA. Dana said if anyone is in EA MMA that they will never fight in the UFC. That game featured Randy, Shields, Hendo and Overeem.

Don't kid yourselves with this "<x> won't fight in the UFC ever again" talk folks. Dana would have Frank Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz II headlining UFC 175 if he thought it'd make him money.

And considering the UFC has arranged a music show that week headlined by Papa Roach and POD, that sort of matchmaking would be strangely relevant.

You just made me google "Papa Roach POD Concert" so first of all, screw you and what you've done to my suggested searches and ads for the next few months.

Second, that's real. That's an actual thing. In 2014. Does this mean the UFC has also invented a time machine? You'd think that would be the headline there. "UFC Goes back in Time, Retrieves POD Papa Roach and Lit to unleash their terror on 2014"

He was angry because EA snubbed the UFC/Zuffa when they were originally looking for a developer for their games. EA was focused on Fight Night and thought the UFC was too niche and wouldn't catch on. Around the same time Dana was trash talking EA itself.

Then THQ dies and EA picks up the UFC contract and poof all that animosity disappears.

Also Werdum, Mousasi, Melendez, Diaz....probably a dozen fighters currently in UFC in all. Dana White is nothing if not a man of his word.

edit: Looked up the roster because I wasn't sure on a few. Arlovski, Barnett, Overeem, Werdum, Henderson, Mousasi, Tim Kennedy, Robbie Lawler, Cung Le, Rockhold, Diaz, Woodley, Kawajiri, Melendez, Thompson are all currently in the UFC to my knowledge. Roger Gracie, Mayhem Miller, Jake Shields, Jay Hieron all fought under UFC after the game came out, and Eddie Alvarez would have if not for the Belator nonsense.

I was waiting for the announcement that Limp Bizkit and The Bloodhound Gang would be playing. Maybe Alien Ant Farm and Bowling for Soup too. I guess they could also bring in Spineshank and Staind as well.

That reminds me, who is their go to band that does all that great generic rock music for their weigh ins? In my head it's just a band jamming out and hitting the record button to sell to the UFC but I wouldn't be surprised if it was POD or Staind.

I haven't had Fight Pass since like Feb? It's far better now, is that correct? Worth diving in? $10 a month ain't shit to me.

Yeah the last time I had Fight Pass, that thing was a joke. Heard they added everything and its a lot better. Might check it out when they put up a Fight Pass event worth subscribing for. Just not a fan of how they cut a bunch of shit out like the fighter entrance music, blurred sponsors and all that jazz. I'm in the process of creating my own. Currently have like 600GB of UFC events all in HD. Working on Pride Bushido series right now. Need to somehow cut single fights out of the events as well. Maybe I'll just throw up individual fights on my wip blog leading up to an event to get yall hyped (if thats even possible). I'll take the lawsuit no problem.

I wish Dana would invest his sense of theatrics into the production of Ultimate instead of his PR work.

He's so unprofessional. Imagine Vince McMahon being the Mr. McMahon character off screen and in public and business deals. I can't believe the Bros don't reign him in more.

Hahahaha good one.

Oh wait, you're serious?

What, you don't think the strong UFC brand can pull those huge names? That's only 2/3 of the acts for this amazing show!

PS: Thank you Lit for being considerate enough to realize nobody will know who the hell you are without the name on the photo. The other two groups chose to ignore this.

Ha Lit. Back in college I bought a Fender Strat off of some kid in my dorm and my buddy who was in a band showed me how to do a power chord and said just mess with those for a while .. and within about 20 minutes of picking up a guitar I figured out how to play "My Own Worst Enemy". I think it only has like 5 chords.

So far has any TUF fight not been garbage?

Nope. They've all been horrendously boring. This is by far the most boring season of American TUF. (Canada vs UK has been the most boring show of all time)

Hmm $7.99 is the sweet spot on price but it still needs one ore more of the following to really make it worth while ...

a) PPV(s)
b) Available as an app on PS4/XB1
c) More than one event a month and what used to be Facebook fights

I just ate McDonalds after over a year of not eating it. My body doesn't know what's going on. It's trying to figure out why it's being punished.
I always saw comments like this on GAF and wondered what kind of week bellied sissies posted on this board until I went and had a Big Mac for the first time in years a few weeks ago and I got deathly ill for like two days.

This. I've said the same before.

I'm still in disbelieve that Arlovski is back in the UFC...

and concerning Fight Pass, have they made it easier to cancel?
Last things I heard you had to email them, call a number, do a little dance, tweet to dana that you are not a real fight fan (favorite his reply: "pussy") etc.

Actually, 4.

But to be fair, Radiohead's "Creep" has 3.
