Monitoring the situation in Iran

Made up figure. Did Rishi Sunka suddenly change things in favour of Indians when he became PM? Was Suella Braverman more in favour of immigration than others as home secretary? Anti immigration party Reform now recruited her.

I was thinking more about local positions like mayor here. When they can do a lot of stuff and most people won't be aware. And it's not like when this is exposed left wing will ever criticize it: "it's a good thing", "it's fighting against racism" etc.

Prime minister is under way more scrutiny than some local mayor.

I'm just saying it's not always the case with any kind of minority holding a position of power. I don't want to derail the topic further though.

God, he's something else.

At this point you'd think the US, Israel, and the Gulf states would have Iran's coastline effectively locked down - and that anything moving without their say-so would be dealt with quick smart.

He was doing that already without a law. Legality is irrelevant if Putin wants something since he can draft any law he pleases.

It looks like the market overextended his benevolence today...

The U.S. Navy has refused near-daily requests from the shipping industry for military escorts through the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the war on Iran, saying the risk of attacks is too high for now, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The ‌Navy's assessments spell continued disruption to Middle East oil exports and reflect a divergence from President Donald Trump's statements that the U.S. is prepared to provide naval escorts whenever needed to restart regular shipments along the key waterway.

Isn't it a bit of semantics though given the rest of the caption? It tells you he is a terrorist given the description of his actions.
No, I don't think it's semantics. Hurtling explosive devices isn't activism. It's media trying to diminish the gruesome motives of these people.

I mean I read it and I inferred the guy is sick because of what his actions are not because of some label the media gave him..

the Strait is over 100 miles long and at times 60 miles wide. There are not enough air craft in the world to monitor that much space 24/7 with 100% coverage to catch and stop deployments by very small boats. And you have to imagine Iran has been preparing to do this for a long time.

It's funny I was listening to the local radio here in Australia where (like in most places) we've numerous pro-Palestinian protests which inevitably clash with police.

The hosts were discussing 'police brutality' and one said, 'yeah, like the heavy handed tactics used on the peaceful rioters' ... I thought 'peaceful rioters, huh? Freudian slip! '

"These ships should go through the Strait of Hormuz and show some guts, there's nothing to be afraid of. … They have no Navy, we sunk all their ships," Trump said, according to Fox News's Brian Kilmeade, who recounted the president's remarks during an interview.
If necessary, the United States Navy will begin escorting tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, as soon as possible. No matter what, the United States will ensure the FREE FLOW of ENERGY to the WORLD.
We love a consistent president. Ships should show some guts and go through the Strait of Hormuz because it's safe. But also the U.S. Navy will begin escorting ships as soon as possible. But also not really, because it's far too dangerous for all that right now.

They were pretty quiet until the gas prices went up

....no, they really weren't lmao. Pretty much anyone who would have a problem with this had a problem with this long before the obvious economic fallout that directly affects most everyone living in America manifested themselves.

That they would manifest themselves is one of the reasons why so many had a problem with it, in fact.

That they are now coming to pass tho, means that a lot more who DIDNT have a problem with this now will. And its pretty easy to see why if you've been paying attention for the last several years.

I'm getting a bit freaked out now,
My son is in charge of a HIMARS unit (My fault for letting em play Battlefield all those years)now waiting for Deployment to the middle east . Got a 1 month son who he is not going to see for a year and now seeing more Soldiers die every couple of days are worrying his mother and I terribly I hope all this shit ends soon !

Don't ever look at what is happening right now and even begin to think its "your fault".

It isnt.

Wishing your son the best.

See? Another one coming out of the woodworks in this thread.

I think everyone should be bracing for this. There is no other way to achieve the objectives they have set forth. Be it regime change or control of the nuclear material.

Remember how the strikes previously had '' totally destroyed '' all of that according to the Trump admin?
Now suddenly we're talking about Iran building nukes again lmfao.

Trump even said that they were '' a week away '' from building a nuke recently.
Absolute clown.
Is the implication here that they rebuilt everything so quickly?

A IRGC Basij member filmed himself leaving his post, saying he believes the Islamic regime is over.

Standing inside what he says is a Basij barracks that used to be a school, he explains that everyone there has already left.

"Everyone is gone or leaving. I'm going home too," he says. "It seems like the regime is finished and we should surrender. I just hope the people don't take revenge on us."

"

👀

Especially when the goal of Islam is to spread and make every place it goes to a caliphate and institute their laws.
Check who is fundings the mosques in the West, then report back. Spoiler: it's not Iran. In fact Iran is a sworn enemy of the country funding the mosques.

But hey, looks like global economy going down the drain to own…who exactly?

The Saudis built this pipeline decades ago in the event an emergency occurred and the Strait of Hormuz was blocked. It has never been run at full capacity before but it will soon be ramped up to deliver a significant amount of oil that used to pass through the Strait

Not a replacement by any means, but it will dramatically slow the rate at which countries dependent on ME oil deplete their stocks and give the US, Israel, and Arab allies more time to finish the war as they see fit
