Technically he's even right, when he says the US is better at fighting than anyone else, but that's not important if you aren't also smart enough to know WHEN to fight. Iran is a shit country (or rather it's dictatorship) and attacking it, or better, trying to free it from a dictatorship, is a good thing, but doing so without any actual plan on how to succeed is mighty stupid. There wasn't enough preparation beforehand, or any actual assessment whether or not the people within Iran are capable of a regime bust, whether or not they have the means (weapons, freedom fighters, etc).

This is why the regime bust in Syria worked, because they actually had all that.

Instead of going straight to calling US voters "not so bright", have you considered a different possibility. Such as, I don't know, something like people who order routine executions of protestors and treat women as if they were less than human don't respond to political niceties?

You may think its insane to tell really bad guys stop it or our military will do X, Y, and Z. But I bet its far more effective than just saying "Don't."

Right, but it isn't absurd for an oil rich country to want nuclear power.
This is possibly where the US should take a back seat and the EU, having remained neutral could help with negotiations - even if Iran only wanted nuclear materials for power they wouldn't be stupid enough to put the supply in the hands of the US.

There were (YouTube) military analysts out there wondering why the US didn't just level Kharg immediately to take away as much of Iran's leverage as possible on day one.

Gotta say, I think I like the blockade idea better.

How though? China's ship passed. Iran's ship passed i think. How did it make things better? This is me asking btw i don't get this blockading the blockade. Iran can still hit ships if they want to and close everything. They won't get a free pass on their own ships and that's it unless i am misunderstanding how this works.

China's ships passed because the U.S. allowed it to happen. Ultimately the biggest losers of a double blockade would be every other country except U.S. and Russia because of the domestic oil production. In this particular attrition, U.S. should be able to hold out longer and ultimately win. Theoretically, in this double blockade, oil prices should be the highest we've seen so far. But they're not and falling, which makes me think people smarter than me know how this will play out.

Leveling Kharg would permanently destroy critical oil infrastructure the world depends on

The blockade was a much, much better idea. After this is all over, we're still going to need Kharg to transport and deliver oil

A military official from Iran appeared on their local television a while back and publicly admitted the goal of Iranian enrichment of nuclear material has always been to build nuclear weapons. I've seen the clip.

The question is whether Iran actually has the ability to attack ships in the strait and hasn't done so because of the ceasefire or if it was mainly bluster on their part. Otherwise the ceasefire ends and the strait is even more closed than before.

The US should use its military might to commit seppuku in front of Europeans in order to make them feel better. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think not profiteering from a war that the US started with such poor planning, would be a good start.

then, probably sorting out innocent countries with some low cost oil to help the current situation might be a good shout too.

Hopefully that's what the US is doing with these oil sales.

I don't think it's even very good for everyday Americans as with greater demand for oil exports globally and less supply globally, I would have thought that prices increase? Although I'm not sure if there are any price caps in place for domestic supply.

Europe's not sure how they feel about it. Please wait 3-4 weeks while they organize a summit to vote on, whether they should vote on, if they feel that it is the correct thing for the US to do.

Yeah, I don't think Europe wanted to take the blame for Trump's collosul fuck up here, as explained in an earlier video so I don't think Europe could help if they wanted to keep face with the rest of the world.

But yeah, if that's tds then cool I guess. We will just keep being Bozos and we can see what the rest of the world thinks of this whole campaign.

I guess it's just that, that Europe is dumb and stupid for not instantly becoming trump and Americas scapegoat for such an embarrassing display of egg on your face.

Then, potentially profiteering it is only going to accelerate the worlds move away from the US for everything they can. Which is what we are seeing happening.

The US is in serious trouble from what the world sees and we don't want to be dragged down with you guys. So good luck. It's all just TDS and not from a place of genuinely loving America since a young child and then growing up to see it starting to crumble Infront of your eyes.

It's sad to see for me. I loved visiting the US and New York will always be special to me. But, you guys need to sort your boy out.

I do hope trump and squad can make some stuff happen over the next few days to sort this all out so the world can move on.

If the US can stop Iran from creating nukes then I am more than happy to pay more for some fuel over these last few weeks. It's when the shortages on everything else hits that we will be truly fucked.

Ideally, markets should always be forward thinking. We went from "a bunch of terrorists have means to control the flow of oil" to "usa is starving the terrorists who we thought could be in control". Markets adjusted the future risk.
