So this is a newsworthy metric now?
I'm having a hard time believing GT did only a million too, especially as driveclub did 2 million and they got canned. LolSport, 1 million? Naaaaaah...![]()
I'm sad to see how most playstation fans don't care about gran turismo franchise anymoreInteresting numbers, so what about gt? "What have they done to my boy?"
Those aren't official number just estimated like vgchartz.GT Sport may have sold over 8 million...

Gran Turismo Sport Has Sold an Estimated 8 Million Copies
A recent report from a hedge fund has suggested a new sales figure for Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo Sport. It's a big one too, with the copy total coming in at an estimated 8 million. That headline figure comes about midway through a massive 102-page document called "A Stronger Sony". In it,www.gtplanet.net
GT Sport has over 9 million users as of February. 1 million is impossible.I'm having a hard time believing GT did only a million too, especially as driveclub did 2 million and they got canned. Lol
Plus the list seems to be missing loads of games like all actual highest games GTA/cod etc![]()

I remember back in the ps1 days all my friends in school were obsessed with the game back then and even in the ps2 days
I hope gta 7 will return the series to its glory days
Oh God. They're never gonna stop feeding us Marvel games, are they?
this only tell us that ps audience prefer when play has lot of limits. How about Deathloop? I saw it had like 50K views on PlayStation official Youtube Channel![]()
Yup. And GT has been in such a weird spot for me. I love racing but I don't pay for online, so I skipped GTS. And GT6 came after I had already jumped in on PS4, and no BC so I skipped that too.GT is massive in Europe...massive.
Nobody forgot about it. Even Sport did well but people are waiting for a full campaign game.
Sometimes you have to wonder if people here are serious or not. Manchester United recently bought Ronaldo and just wouldn't shut about twitter interaction numbers about the signing because they know they can get higher sponsorship using this metric. How else are we supposed to gauge consumer response for an online reveal?Yes, Google Analytics makes literal billions of dollars every year for collating and selling this data that's all just worthless. Why would anyone want to have quantitative metrics indicating consumer responses to a product announcement? No, that's not valuable at all.
So that goes back to my initial post of why would anyone care if it's not user information.
Deffo looks like insomniac were purchased to become the marvel machine for Sony.
I understand that some people like stuff like this for reasons, but just like the weekly UK/Japan sales figures i think there should be a pinned general thread named "interesting statistics" for all of them to avoid flooding the forum with threads. I don't think that too many people are interested in Youtube clicks or sales figures.I have a feeling that if the color of the trailer had more green and said "GamePass" you'd care way, way more about the views.![]()
what is the difference between a normal entry and Sports?Well....by the numbers alone, MOST PS fans never cared about GT, no GT has EVER moved 100 million units.....
You also need to factor that GT Sport is different from the main GT series and will see less sales then the standard GT, I expect GT to move monster units as I'm buying it day 1 for that return of those classic modes and I expect many more will too.
With it being cross gen, its moving some monster numbers if you consider no GT has ever actually done such a thing. I don't know if we'll see those old school PS2 numbers as thats the height of the series, but who knows, maybe a whole new base of consumers pick up GT
I'm really excited for Marvel's Wolverine.![]()
I'll never understand why people care or give any thought to things like number of views on a trailer.
Benji Sales usually combine views from the largest gaming sites like IGN and Gamespot![]()
Where do these numbers come from?
Sport feels more like a spin off or a Prologue (oversized demo). It has much less content, no real SP and is heavily online focused.what is the difference between a normal entry and Sports?
That's a bit of a stretch. Look at it more practically; Insomniac have already done Spiderman, so its a no-brainer that they'd be the right choice for a sequel. Similarly as their games have been well received and Marvel seems pleased with the result, pressure could be coming from them to have Insomniac involved on Wolverine too.
I'm sure Sony intend for there to be more Ratchet+Clank also.

Horizon has had 'little to no engagement'?:So the games that are out within the next 6 to 9 months have little to no engagement and we can start getting excited for the ps5 in a minimum of 12 to 18 months.
Covid is a bitch.
GT Sport didn't appeal to me, but I still bought one copy to my nephew.GT is massive in Europe...massive.
Nobody forgot about it. Even Sport did well but people are waiting for a full campaign game.
Horizon has had 'little to no engagement'?:
Sure buddy, I'm much more excited about backwards compatibility anyway.
"So the games that are out within the next 6 to 9 months have little to no engagement"I didn't know there was a horizon trailer at the ps showcase....
...anyway back to playing Psychonauts 2. Shit is fire!
The thread is about trailers from the ps showcase but I guess you didnt read that?"So the games that are out within the next 6 to 9 months have little to no engagement"
I didn't know February wasn't in the next six to nine months...![]()
So because Horizon wasn't at the showcase I guess 'we can only start getting excited for the ps5 in a minimum of 12 to 18 months.'The thread is about trailers from the ps showcase but I guess you didnt read that?
Let me elaborate on my statement so its clearer based on the thread.
So from the trailers shown at the ps showcase of games launching in the next 6 to 9 months there is very little engagement.
So because Horizon wasn't at the showcase I guess 'we can only start getting excited for the ps5 in a minimum of 12 to 18 months.'
Because Horizon is vapourware and doesn't count right?
Your 'point' is a nonsense, and the fact that you're continuing to argue it just reinforces the stupidity of it.
You tried to link low engagement to being a reason not to get 'excited' for the PS5.Horizon is gonna be awesome, I don't get why you're getting so bent out of shape over my statement I made about the viewership of the titles displayed in this showcase.
Horizon will be huge and I'm sure all of us will greatly enjoy it when it launches. Just chill.
You tried to link low engagement to being a reason not to get 'excited' for the PS5.
Yet the very next big PS5 exclusive...is a game with very high engagement.
If I'm having to explain this to you...well I don't know what that says about your ability to comprehend information....
I saw he mention it when tweeting about the Xbox E3 showcase and its trailers, because he did combine those as well. That's totally dishonest since he doesn't mention that and neither does he indicate which channels are being combined (especially if the combined channels together account for far more views than the PlayStation channel alone). What's even worse is that these combined views often get compared to the Xbox channel alone, since so many people are not aware of this.
So yeah, that's a pretty shady metric right there.
It's quite simple really.![]()
Where do these numbers come from?
Sony is dead to some apparently.
I'm trying to guess what kind of mental gymnastics people are doing in their head to spin what was a solid showcase with some heavy hitters into some sort of "Sony is doomed" scenario. Especially when you consider what the competition has offered since launch.
Gaf never ceases to amaze me.
This will be Spider Man DLC, with Wolverine swapped out for Spiderman, and sold for $70 dollars
I saw he mention it when tweeting about the Xbox E3 showcase and its trailers, because he did combine those as well.
Edit: actually, you're right. He didn't include them. Yeah that's wierd.
It's quite simple really.
He didn't say views on PlayStation channel, but views on YouTube.
For example, check the trailers on IGN's channel.
Or maybe you are overthinking it. Maybe he realised people asked for entire numberlast so this he did it.So for Xbox he only combined the official and developer channels but for PlayStation he is including every major gaming channel (whatever these may be)?
I know what he said and he is being rather deceptive really. Lots of people in this thread alone thought these were the PlayStation metrics alone.
If I'd combine enough channels without saying which ones I could create any metric I wanted. Also combining views like that is idiotic since there's no way of knowing how much overlap there is between these channels. What's even worse, he seems to be changing his methodology at will, creating even more confusion.
