NBA 2k14 Next Gen : OMG Trailer

Looks really great. I'm not really into sports games but this is great for the folks that are into them. But man, poor NBA Live.

Also this just shows the whole "well it's a cross gen game, of course it's not going to look as good" is absolute bullshit.

NBA 2K14 looks as good as any next gen game on the market.

Three championships and a Finals MVP says otherwise.

Who is "the man" in Miami? There is no "big three" there. There is a ring leader and two side clowns...

Although fun, I'll leave it at that, maybe re-post it in the Off-Topic community to ruffle some feathers....

being a Celts fan is really gonna su(k the next few years

FYI, the trailer still looks amazing every time I see it.... I want to see the gameplay now...

I laughed so hard at nba live when I saw this

I can't come up with a single reason anyone buys live over this

Starting the next gen with a guaranteed bomba

I'm curious how dirk will look. He's either looked like a ghoul or a monster in all other basketball games

White people + hair is like a death sentence in basketball games for some reason.

Goddamn, been watching this over and over again. The faces, so damn realistic, the coaches look human now too!
So many little details too in the jersey, the accessories and they even put the tatoos on Lebron's leg. They got leg tatoos too now!!! C'mon now 2K!

Is this the series that had the Andrew Bynum Jesus glitches?

If so, I'm not expecting much from this game.

That was NBA Elite 11, which was cancelled weeks (was it days?) before release.

Edit:Oh it was Live? I coulda sworn that was Elite. I get all these cancelled EA basketball games mixed up.

The jerseys impressed me the most. They finally look like and move like real mesh, with all their individual movements reacting to the changes in body posture.

Live and Elite are the same. Elite was the changed name but then Jesus Bynum happened. Elite name has since been soiled so reverted back to live

Since I skipped NHL 14 and Madden 25 next-gen looks meh and MLB The Show will be out in the Spring I think I'm going to get this game for PS4

This game looks ridiculous. I'm even angrier at the NFL exclusivity deal now. NFL2K14 on next gen would've been insane with this kind of lighting/shader work + the open stadiums. In The Air Tonight pushes the swag levels to max, and puts NBA Live in the corner somewhere then turns off the light and locks the door.

Please, 2K, do something for the wrestling games now.

Step 1: Let go of Yukes.

It also breaks my heart that we can't see what NFL2K would be like on next gen. I have not owned a football game since 2K5. Madden is too painfully mediocre.

Not played an NBA game for years, seriously considering getting this just as a graphical showcase*.

*I assume it's a fun game as well!

I think it peaked with 2k11, the first one with Jordan on it. I have 2k13 on Steam and the defense in that game is laughably bad seemingly no matter what I do with sliders. It reminded me of the old Sony NBA games from the first couple of years of the PS3 generation where the seas parted and everyone got dunks and layups almost every time. I hope they fixed that.

Yes much easier to block dunks and layups now. Plus a lot more body contact happens now when players drive to the hoop

Yeah, and just imagine what an MLB game would look like from these guys!

...oh, wait.

That's not accurate at all. You can tell because Amare Stoudemire is playing.

There's way more contact in 2K14, and blocks are a lot easier to come by, in a good way. It's not as easy to get in the lane and dunk over all 5 players and the bench and coach at the same time.

...oh, wait.

2K Sports has always been about NBA and NFL to me. MLB has The Show, or whatever. Isn't that pretty good?

That's good to hear but I hope standard defense is a lot better too. Too often in 13 I'd be guarding someone and they would just jog around me like I wasn't even there. It was like the defenders were always 2 steps slower than the person with the ball. If it was a post up they'd spin around me every single time and get by. I couldn't believe how much of a downgrade from 11 it was.

Fuck their baseball games are so terrible.

I'll probably give MLB The Show a go, assuming that they'll put one out for PS4 at some point. Never owned a PS3, but it was always incredibly apparent just how much better that series was than 2K's garbage baseball game.

Defense in these games is all about learning the AI's behavior and baiting it into doing what you want it to do. Like making bad passes.

The Show is really, really good. Right up there with NBA2K, and maybe the most accurate sim out there.

MLB 2K should take a year off, use this engine, and actually make a good baseball game for once, probably never happen though

I haven't purchased a baseball game since MVP Baseball 2005. I hated the 2K baseball games. MVP was so much better. The Show always looked far superior to 2K. I can't wait to see what they have to offer for next-gen.

...oh, wait.

The thing is though, 2K has shown that they create great football games in the past, that's why it's all the more frustrating.

And The Show seems like a consistently good Baseball game while there isn't one on the market now for football.

UPS truck will get highjacked hahaa

I dont trust UPS during these big launch events, I rather see a cleark handing me my console and drive it home myself.
