I think she's funny and has great chemistry with Schmidt... that's why I like her. *shrug*

Did I miss an episode, or was that just an odd way to introduce a new character? They just plopped the lesbian down in the apartment like she'd been there all along. Other than that interesting decision, the episode was great.

chutney.
She was just dropped in, but June Raphael is a great comedic actress so it worked for me.

Goddamn, what is up with this show and hitting this great emotional peak in a 22 minute time frame. Spectacular writing and acting in last nights episode.

I don't know how it happened but Schmidt is my favorite character. Probably because he's practically gay.

Schmidt is hilarious, but Nick remains my favourite character. Mainly because he's a cynical screw up who reminds me a lot off myself. Also, his facial expressions are fantastic. The chemistry between Nick and Schmidt makes the show though. The fight they had earlier in the season was probably one of the most realistic fights I've seen in a tv-show, let alone a comedy. It kinda startled me. And the end of this episode really shows how well these two characters play off of one and other in terms of comedy.

This show consistently surprises me. I've only caught a few random episodes because the wife watches, but I thought it was going to be a disaster from the promos. Wayans shoulda stuck with this one.

No way. Beyond the fact that he'd already been doing Happy Endings for a season and didn't even have a choice on which show to stay with, the other show has grown to be one of the funniest sitcoms on air. His character on HE is much better too.

I kinda gave up on Happy Endings after a few duds in a row. Maybe I'll give it another whirl. Still, so far this show has had better moments for me.

Last night's New Girl was a high in terms of emotion*, and I don't think HE has gotten that far, but in terms of jokes HE wins by a mile. They're so clever, so funny, so dense with jokes that the show is a joy to watch.

* and they've gotten close with other episodes, but it's not like they're this good all the time yet.

I agree. While I did like his "Coach" character in New Girl, I greatly prefer him as Brad in Happy Endings. Brad and Jane are one of the many highlights of that show.

I watched a few episodes of Happy Endings just to see what the fuss was, and while funny I think it just tries too hard to be clever.

It's Scrubs minus the hospital setting to me. I dig it, but there were just a few episodes where they fell flat/tried to hard. I was way up on it when they first aired. Been a while. Brad and Jane together were pretty damn funny.

I've loved the most recent episodes of New Girl (last night's was awesome), but Happy Endings still is better to me. I think it's because I don't find Winston funny yet, and Coach/Brad is incredibly funny. His reaction to "black mall" was my favorite bit of comedy in a long time.

Ugh, Coach was so one-note. "STOP IT" + anger management. I'm glad that didn't end up happening. I'll agree that Winston is the weakest part of the show, though. I haven't seen last night's yet.

I'm really hoping Coach actually reappears on the show with Wayans' guest-starring for an ep, lol.

Loser slave of the system :(
LOVED the latest episode. Had a smile on my face the entire time.

I did not like Winston at first but man has he been growing on me these past few eps.

Lizzy Caplan just got cast for the female lead in "Masters of Sex" on Showtime.
Michael Sheen will play William Masters, who together with Virginia Johnson pioneered the field of sex research in the 1960s. The actor will also serve as a producer on the project.
Lizzy Caplan ("Mean Girls," "Cloverfield") will play Johnson, Showtime also said Thursday.

Hype diminishing. Will still watch for Lizzy.

Finally saw the ep. Stellar! Chut-a-ney slayed me.

Second episode Schmidt has said it like that and I cracked up. First time was Mango Chut-a-ney in episode 5. This show really took off during episode 3 and has never looked back.

Damn, that was great. About a third of the way through I was nervous it would be a step down from the last few, the last part totally killed. The awkward threesome, and then Schmidt dialing in at the end.

Yeah, new favorite comedy right now. Consistent, and mostly realistic characters and storylines without getting too ridiculous.

And get excited for next week, Ryan Kwanten guest stars.

That was one of the best half hours I think I've seen in years. So chock full of perfect running gags, like the 07 resolutions list, and awesome one-liners, all supported by a genuine, believable set of stories.

Ramy calling Winston "Coach", starting a croissant blog, young Jess and the candy grandma, Ow TAPOUT, Schmidt knowing Greg Kinnear's schedule, Rofl. Like, man, what a crammed, awesome episode.

Since my roommate refuses to put this on our DVR because of some irrational hate for Zooey (I dunno), I guess I'm going to be catching up late on all of these via Hulu...

It's been in the cards. He deleted my season passes for New Girl, Happy Endings, and Fringe last week (when I was at a funeral) because he didn't think I watched them. Right.

Aww, hell naw!

I was only joking with my post, but that is just wrong. BAH! I forget, where do you live again?

LA. I've started to save up for my own place/look around the past few weeks. The problem is... the TV is his, and it's nice. And I need to make sure my job is more stable and I can afford a nice TV/DVR system and some other things. But it's coming!

EDIT: "If I dressed like you did at work, my students would turn in weird, dark dioramas!"

Yes. (have to watch last week's, cause, ya know...)

EDIT 2: I dream of a Happy Endings/New Girl comedy hour.

The show is actually good? I'm skeptical because people swear that Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother are good shows...not so much. Would you lie to me, GAF?
