True, I actually hated mario odyssey, most boring and depressing game I have ever played. Just didnt feel joyful at all.
Because of it I got into the conclusion that I just dont like platformers anymore.
But then I tested astro bots and yeah it is cool and fun, and also played mario 1 + mario 3 and still liked them
Conclusion: Sony can still do cool&fun platformers, while nintendo cant

Awesome! I was rooting for them! I waited 10 hours for the PS3, but I was 14 years younger, single, and didn’t have a kid. Even with alI that, I still thought about driving by at midnight to see if there was a line. My wife got hers on the 23rd, looks like I’m waiting until after the holiday.

Nah, I'm always goofing around but I was serious. Movies are mastered at 2K to begin with, and actually many actors were complaining from the clarity of 4K that exposes their skins and their "natural" imperfections.
Also yes, most tv experts tend to wear glasses, so things need to be taken with a grain of salt if it's phrased as an opinion like here. Having perfect 4:4:4 is always better, doesn't need to be massive difference but it's better.

Well I'm grateful I don't need them, but actually I rarely see people with glasses here as most people would rather just do lasik and be done with it and restore their vision. I know many done it and years now and they have good vision.
From what I'm reading around here it doesn't sound as trendy elsewhere?

I don't know how this guy would know if MS is capable of disabling DSC on their end. My understanding is hardware that uses DSC can also.. not use it.

Received can't be fixable... true because no matter what you do it hardware can't accept RGB (4:4:4).
But I don't believe MS can't make Series X output in 4:2:2 in this case... I still believe it is just a firmware update with a option in menu.

Right, they just can't use DSC.
And they aren't doing anything that would require DSC. DSC is only needed for crazy resolution / color depth combos and whatnot. But maybe XSX hardware itself has no ability to disable DSC? Doesn't seem like what he was trying to even say in that video, he was more saying Denon can't fix it.

It has stopped charging. Plug it in and the yellow light comes on once, then not again. So I've gone thru the jumping jacks of trying to arrange a return thru Sony direct. Supposed to get an email in 24 hours. Bummer. I really like the headsets. I hope this isn't a widespread issue with them.

Yes they seem to not like all chargers, but they charge perfectly via PS5's USB. If you have different chargers then try them out. I use my Sony phone charger and it's flawless with it. On other charger it's a miss and hit, maybe it's a built-in protection from bad chargers.

More like Ubisoft accidentally downgraded the PS5 version with the patch. I don't think this happened for parity reasons.

The recent PS5 update has bugged my rest mode. Often the PS5 loads up and now asks for the PlayStation button to be pressed even though the controller is already on and pressing the button doesn’t bypass the screen. I have to perform a full shutdown to bring it back properly.
I think you need to connect your controller by cable to update it. I've updated both controllers.

AV receivers can't recognize the compressed signal from XSX. PS5 and RTX 3090 send uncompressed signals.

Yeap they tried to downgrade Series X GPU workload to reach 60fps and ended downgrading PS5 workload and performance.
The fix for Xbox should never affect the PS5.... PS5 hardware doesn't need downgrade in GPU workload.

PS5 is moneyhatting exclusives, MS is moneyhatting trojan bugs on PS5 versions.

I hope it gets constant updates like they made with DualSense controller that you can update as well. But if none of these are charging then it must be returned as it's covered by warranty and you should get another one. I highly recommend them because you get very solid sound for a very good price, cheap arguably and they're pretty light. Been playing for long hours with around 6-12 hours total a day, and they never die on me but when I go out for something or sleeping and charging with my cellphone charger (Pulse 3D) and the controller on the charging station. None have died on me but that charging station and an extra charger will make sure you never run out of juice.
I actually question my decision of buying a second controller, but might get my wife to play with me on Sackboy?

And I think this is why the PS5 will not output 8K video yet, despite saying it will later.
To output 8K @ 60 Hz w/ HDR10 RGB the HDMI 2.1 signal needs to use compression (DSC.)
I think Sony are waiting to update their HDMI chip to allow for using DSC in order to allow full 4K 120 HDR RGB 4:4:4 video, VRR, and 8K @60 Hz video out.

Xbox showed at Hot Chips talk that the XSX HDMI port is hardware limited to 40 Gb/s. To output the best 4K@120 video they allow on XSX w/ VRR, they might have to use DSC to fit it all into the 40 Gb/s bw. I think they might need full 48 Gb/s to not use DSC.

PS5 can do 8k 30Hz HDR 4:2:2 12bits without DSC with 32Gbps (that before the update for more HDMI bandwidth).
Series X can do 8k 30Hz HDR RGB (4:4:4) 10bits or 8k 60Hz HDR 4:2:0 10bits without DSC with 40Gbps.
With full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth (48Gbps) you can do way more without DSC... you will only need DSC for the Ultra# in the table below:
