I'm not saying he's lying, but it's very easy to turn an observation by two people into some big story. And as with any story, the angle determines everything.
Like Jason said in his tweets, the angle he was going for was the "human drama" element. It was done before with Naughty Dog, and then we had ND devs saying how frustrating it was that an article could come out and create that narrative, when inside the studio the people working there felt different. Is it really that hard to understand that in a studio made up of hundreds of people, some will not agree with how things are run? This is nothing. Same people tried to make a huge deal out of Henning and U4, and that game ended up being the best one and the true sequel to U2. Same people made a big meal out of Bruce leaving and that animation guy, but TLOU2 not only was incredible, it set a new standard.
If Sony had opted to lay off a ton of people sitting iddle with no work to show for at Bend, press sneak fuck would be writing an article about the human cost. But because Bend is being run like other Sony studios, a small team works on pre production for the next title while the rest of the team is either finishing a project or it's supporting other studios, the article is about the evil eye of sauron not letting the hobbits roam wild and free.
Honestly, it feels targeted and devoid of any purpose aside from clicks. Who is he helping? How is this little drama of public interest? What exactly is he exposing?
