It does.is it true that ps5 doesn't support supersampling?
Wrong, it does.is it true that ps5 doesn't support supersampling?
He pretty much implies in his article that DG2 was cancelled then outright claimed the ex-producer of the first game, Jeff Ross, was a liar when Jeff said it was still in dev when he left the studio.lol
Though didnt he actually say that DG2 was cancelled and they were working on a new IP. And then stuck to his guns after Jeff Ross said it was still in dev? This actually lines up with what he said.
Who the hell told you that?is it true that ps5 doesn't support supersampling?
Definitely. Though a reboot of Siphon Filter would be great maybe with an open world setting. Would be quite original. DG wasn't bad but it's very redundant to The Last of Us brand, less tragic, sure, but more or less it treats the same setting, apocalyptic world with people who survive in terrible conditions doing terrible things ... even the gameplay isn't it too far different, collecting stuff to built/upgrade weapons and so on.He pretty much implies in his article that DG2 was cancelled then outright claimed the ex-producer of the first game, Jeff Ross, was a liar when Jeff said it was still in dev when he left the studio.
You have be doing some creative accounting with the english language to try to claim J.Shreier didn't say the game was cancelled. He clearly doubled down on his insistence that it was based on his first twitter meltdown.
Regardless, just like IntentionalPun i'd also personally much prefer a new IP from Sony Bend anyway. I just think it would be hilarious if their next game is DG2 and J.Schreier ends up with egg on his face after calling a dev who actually worked at the studio a liar. I'd love to see that simply for the lulz.
If you follow his posts he says Sony has a deal for exclusive MGS games (along with film and tv rights). He’s a former head of strategy at Amazon Studios and a well respected market analyst.

"You know Sony is making a Metal Gear movie, and has a multi-year window on new game releases, and exclusive subscription bundle rights"Which post? he said its effectively a exclusive but think he is talking about it the same way that persona is effectively an exclusive

If you choose 4k on video output and plug it on a 1080p or 1440p TV it will supersample to 1080p.There is no "supersampling mode" option in the PS5 video settings like the PS4 Pro has. Maybe the PS5 can? Idk.

I would rather get a new Syphon Filter gameSo Sony are getting Metal Gear Solid and Microsoft are getting Splinter Cell.
They go head to head 2022.
So RGT’s sources were right? This guy has known about it since July 2020.
Clarifications follow
When I used my PS4 Pro with a 1080p TV that had HDMI 1.4, the PS4 Pro did not allow selecting output at 2160p in settings. Only 1080p. But with supersampling mode enabled, some games, like Rocket League, looked better at 1080p (less jaggies, shimmering.)If you choose 4k on video output and plug it on a 1080p or 1440p TV it will supersample to 1080p.
The sad part is just that I can’t supersample to 1440p but 1440p TVs that supports HDMI 2.0 can receive the 4k signal and supersample themselves.
Why do you need a option btw? PS4 Pro did the same just like PS5 automatically... the menu option was to force it?
fuck days goneAlready crossed the 15,000 mark.
I don't think he's talking about some secret he knows; sounds like he's describing the past of MGS on Playstation, games coming later to other platforms.
I think you misunderstood me. J.S did say Days Gone 2 was cancelled and did double down after Jeff Ross claimed it wasn't.You have be doing some creative accounting with the english language to try to claim J.Shreier didn't say the game was cancelled. Plus Jeff Ross basically said he wasn’t honest in the interview while Jason was in his claims.I think you misunderstood me. J.S did say Days Gone 2 was cancelled and did double down after Jeff Ross claimed it wasn't.
Eh not really.. why would some ex amazon studios head have some inside info on anything PS5 related? lol (I know you are probably joking here too)"Oops ive said too much and I need to walk it back."
Who would've thought...
What were your experiences with PS5 and Xbox Series X, respectively, as a developer?
Well, it was a great experience. We are speaking of two powerful machines that allowed us to experiment new features for the game, and that leave a lot of space for improvements in the future. The most important thing is that we can offer on both consoles a stable 60 FPS experience, which for a simulative racing game is very important.
Did you encounter any troubles while developing for the less powerful Xbox Series S? Can you share the target resolution and frame rate for MotoGP 21 on this platform?
Not troubles at all, we were all surprised by the smoothness in the development of both Series X and Series S. The latter console targets a frame rate of 60 FPS and a resolution of 1440p (dynamic).
Can you tell us about your implementation of the DualSense controller's unique haptic and adaptive triggers features on PS5?
The DualSense is really amazing and gave us the chance to implement on the controller a lot of different feedbacks. We implemented different vibrations for all the different surfaces and also to give feedback to the player when he changes gear. The triggers have different rigidities to simulate a real accelerator/brake knob, and they also vibrate so indicate the player a loss of grip on the rear/front wheel.
I wonder if these developers comments will ease the 'concerns' so many have about the XSS performance. I'm certain this will put the whole 'XSS is holding back gaming thing' to rest. Thank goodness!DualSense Controller Is Really Amazing, Says MotoGP 21 Dev; Xbox Series S Was No Trouble At All

I dont know anything about making games aside from the part people say regarding down time, contractors etc.... Making games has peaks and valleys regarding work load, which can go for other companies too.Watching this right now. He mentions how ND only got involved with the remake after shipping TLOU2. Before that it was just a few programmers helping out VSG with the TLOU2 engine. After shipping the last of us 2, they had a lot of devs with no work to do so they figured hey why not have them help out VSG with the remake. But then after some studio politics, ND ended up taking the lead on the project because well they were the leads on the first game.
My question is why did Sony not have anything lined up for these devs? Did they not know that the game would finish development in May 2020? Why not have a pre-production team work on the side so they can hit the ground running after shipping TLOU2? We are in 2021. Studios should be smarter than this. ND is literally the best studio on the planet alongside Rockstar. Their talent is worth way more than a remake. Every day of their work is more valuable. Every hour. The studio heads should've known what the next game was going to be months if not years in advance. That's literally their only job. They dont design levels, they dont write code or fix bugs and they certainly dont do QA. So WTF are they doing all this time?
Jason was talking about how this thing might not even come out for the next two years. I thought it was coming out this year with Factions. So worst case scenario, ND is working on a PS4 remake for the next two years while the studio leads figure out what to do next.
Here is an idea, do TLOU3. This really shouldnt even be a discussion.

TLOU3? Not so fast Sniky. They need to do a proper sequel of TLOU1 first.Watching this right now. He mentions how ND only got involved with the remake after shipping TLOU2. We had the Control dev saying that it actually should be easier once cross-gen is out of the way. This game was already hold back by last gen consoles. Of course it is not hard to put a game from 1.xx TF consoles on 4 TF console.
And what exactly do you think having their tech guys working on a TLOU remake for PS5 is?Here is an idea, do TLOU3. This really shouldnt even be a discussion.
Exactly.Several devs went anywhere from trash talking the xss to outright laugh at it - ignore
1 dev says it was no trouble at all - case closed
makes sense

Devs are all over the map about their XSS statements.
In the end, if it doesn't sell well.. and just as importantly, if the existence of the "XSS profile" doesn't help xCloud scale to more people.. it sucks that it's in the mix for developers.
If the existence of the XSS helps expand the userbase.. it'll be good for developers, despite the added complication. Really that's going to depend on whether cloud gaming takes off, because the XSS almost certainly exists because of xCloud more than anything else.
Eh, i dont buy that. They said the same thing about doing the TLOU remaster and how it helped them learn the PS4. As if the last of us remaster had any of the new features that ended up in Uncharted and The Last of Us part 2. It definitely helps the engineers get familiar with it, but i didnt see any motion matching tech in the last of us remaster. The fantastic lighting engine and foliage from Uncharted 4 wasnt in the last of us remaster either. It was mostly just backend stuff to get it up and running on the PS5 SDK which according to Cerny is like a month's worth of work. And what exactly do you think having their tech guys working on a TLOU remake for PS5 is?
It's them working on the tech for TLOU3 as much as anything else.. and I doubt Sony didn't plan this from the get-go.
One of the purposes of remakes is having tech teams focus on new tech without needing to wait for creative decisions to be made as the product is already "designed." You also then end up with a product you can sell.. and your engine is now more ready for the sequel which is likely being designed from a creative perspective at the same time.
That's my armchair analysis of how that works.
