Oh no. The CPU has trapped me in the endless loop of not being able to call players up due to salary cap restrictions and not being able to send down players because I would have fewer than 18 players.
Anybody have a solution for this? Or am I going to have to trade one of my players for someone with a lower salary?

Gotta trade until you're able to call up all the 1-way contract players that you plan on using throughout the season. I did notice that signing Marleau and Miller put you over the cap by a couple mill. You should be able to fix that without making any unbalanced trades, so don't be too hasty.
Yep and I was the higher seed both seasons.
This years team is my weakest yet since I wasn't able to bag any free agents. I expect to be a 4 or 5 seed barring any major injuries.

You have an even more amazing Center-depth than Spectre/Winnipeg, and that means quite something. Kane, Duchene, RNH and MacKinnon, all 4.5 centers. And then also Hodgson :lol

Question, how does minor league work in gm connected. I figured I would leave MacKinnon in the minors and let him get some game time then have him play 4th line minutes
I'll trade you Doughty for Duchene. Doughty is more of a cap hit but he is locked up for 3 more years at least.
You can't control it in GM Connected. You can't even check how well they're doing, or what kind of stats your players get. All you can do is cross fingers and hope for the best and check player-growth in the offseason...

My first line center(Zajac) got injured after 4 min of ice time and hasn't played since the first game. Love these injuries. He's back but now Wideman is out for four games.

Third-string goalie (65 ovr) somehow made it into my game versus Minnesota. 3.71 GAA and a loss! Lundqvist is injured, but not sure why Leclaire wouldn't have played every minute.
Otherwise a few short-term injuries, but nothing major. Oshie's out for 40+ games for the third consecutive season, but.... he's not on my team this time. No idea what's up with him since he's got 85 durability. Sorry, Spectre.

Never did get his shit together.
His +/- was always close to even, so he wasn't a detriment when he was out there. Didn't get a ton of ice time on the 3/4 line. He's firmly entrenched on the the third line wing and can fill in at center as needed, we'll see how it goes. I'll be happy if I can get him into the 82-84 OVR range before he stops growing.
Matt Read is another guy who fell short of expectations. He gained a point after the first year and turned white this season at 77. I expected better but will give him a chance on the third line. He's another one that didn have a ton of ice time last season and suffered statistically and growth.
