I've been simming for 30mins now, I kinda understand what Marvie meant with waiting time, damn. Need to sim 3 time periods, but still, there's not even any games to sim! Wonder how long that take. Season-End sim I understand takes a bit longer.

The sims during the season seem to take like 10 minutes?
Huh. I have no idea how EA's divided certain parts of the season into separate periods. Can't even imagine what those three periods would involve outside of the draft.
Sim 1: June7-20: Player Aging, Season wrapup, retirements
Then in daysteps:
Sim2: Nothing.
Sim3: Draft
Sim4: Apparently "preparation for re-signing phase", don't ask me why.

Actually, that's probably it, that kinda makes sense. All periods apart from period 2 (which is just... there...) have been taking their sweet time, so the game's gotta be doing SOMETHING useful.

I feel like this and next season is where the contract situation is really gonna bite some of us in the ass :lol. I have 15 mio to work with and not many to resign, but this player growth came unexpectedly, and I'm feeling the heat too. Gotta lock all these guys up before it's too late...
Super happy with the growth though.
Karlsson makes 9.2 as well, some contracts are weird.

I wouldn't. You can leave 'unsigned' players as they are if they have a couple years before they become UFAs. Recommended actually since you can only fit 50 signed players in your organization. ie, I don't sign my draft picks until they're a year away from being UFAs, or if they're very good. Better to keep those roster spots open.

For whatever reason Dallas came stacked with a lot of great veterans and with cheap contracts. The downside is that they were all fairly old. You should have seen the original team.
Older than it is now, I assume? Gave up vets to get Hall and Kane or were they there all along?
Offered Beach a little more than I'm comfortable with now (around 2.5) to hopefully get him on a 6 year deal. He's improved to a 79 and is still fairly young and 4 stars...Gonna try and lock him in long term hoping he hits the mid 80s by the halfway point of the deal.
