A few games have certain things that pop out of the screen a bit (for example, Super Monkeyball has banana's flying out the screen at you), but most gaming is sinking into the machine, as if it was really deep.

Doing the cross-eye trick never works because the images lose all focus, and become blurry messes. Is this normal?

I was having the same problem... but with those orange columns pic posted up a bit, I finally was able to make it out. I think the problem is expecting the two images to combine into one... but really you are looking to see three images, with the 3D one in the middle.

With cross-eyed 3D I really had to practice focusing and defocusing until I found the sweet spot where the middle image created out of the two images became clear. When the 3DS becomes more popular I expect to see lots of cross-eyed stereoscopic jpegs posted when people start taking photos. Oy.

From the short time (about 5 minutes) that I spent with the game, I can feel the bananas fly out, but never close enough that I feel I had to move my head to dodge it. Never really had the feeling that it was going to hit me.

I think it is also because the colour kind of "fades out" as the banana is approaching, making it feel less striking.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. Since the entire bottom panel comes off as a battery cover, I wonder if they could make a high capacity battery that attaches in place of the stock battery cover, making the system a little thicker, but allowing for longer battery life.

Pop out is pretty amazing since you don't expect it out of the 3DS. It's certainly a wow factor for me since it was my first experience with the system.

All Nintendo have to do is code an emulator (probably already done), and shove it on as a download. Done. No effort at all, and straight away you'll have one of the best platformers ever, which will be brand new to 99% of the people playing it.

And I'm not exaggerating with that claim about being one of the best platforming games ever. It's absolutely incredible.
