In honor of tomorrow's Zelda blowout, I am listening to the BotW trailer music from the 2017 Switch presentation. Shit is EPIC. Too bad it's not in the actual game, but good ol' Sakurai was good enough to put it in Smash Ultimate, at least

Same, dude. Same. I'm thinking since this game never got a normal E3 presence, they'll do an event for the press/media like in March and invite people to an in-person preview event, and then do a Treehouse of that, too. To make up for this game never getting more than like 1 minute teasers every 18 months, the last 4 years since first being announced.
It would be cool to do like an E3-style booth of the game, like BotW got in 2016. Like themed after the game. Twilight Princess had a dedicated booth in 2005, that was epic as well. And even though Skyward Sword as a game was meh for me, the booth in 2011 with the giant birds hanging overhead was pretty epic.

Well, the first part of that sentence is true. The Metroid-like arm cannon that can shoot fire seems new. And, you know, all the other new stuff from the trailers that wasn't in the first game. The flying bird glider, the corrupted Master Sword, turning into a water droplet and moving upward through terrain, dungeons, the giant glowing tattoo art on the tops of mountains...you know, nothing major. lol

As of right now, she wants to help the mentally ill as a therapist. She herself suffers from ADHD, autism and anxiety. I’m sure I carry the autism gene, as 2 of my 3 girls have it. The other is still a baby, so our fingers are crossed.

Sakurai kind of teased it in a YouTube video, and we have job listings showing that Bandai Namco is working on an action game remaster for Switch. This is where most of the speculation is coming from.
Outside of E3 2018 Directs don't tend to focus on any one game in particular. I think we get 5 mins on TOTK and then an announcement of a Zelda Direct later on.There would be riots in these internet streets if they only showed just 5 minutes. Surely you jest....
To be fair middle doesn’t mean exactly halfway. Nintendo was also saying that Switch was in the middle of its life at the start of 2020. I don't think they are going to say that Switch is at the late or end part of its life until they are ready to talk about the successor.

Considering an entire new generation of gamers exist that might want to experience these games and have no way to easily access them, I'm all for Zelda remasters/re-released (to a certain extent)
I don't expect any big new reveals from this Direct, maybe a medium-sized game or two (another DK platformer would be nice), in no small part as I can see Nintendo unveiling the Switch successor in either summer or autumn, where they'll have a bigger blowout of new stuff. I'd be amazed if Metroid Prime 4 were still a Switch game, or the next (new) 3d Mario, for instance. Nintendo's roster is fairly solid with Kirby, Zelda, Pikmin 4 and Mario Kart DLC in addition to smaller but anticipated games like Octopath 2, Advance Wars, Persona, Silksong, so there's no much point doing more big releases now unless they really aren't going to release a new Switch for at least another 18 months - 2 years (which, even as someone who still happily plays my N64 and isn't too fussy about graphics or framerates, would seem a bad idea as the Switch has clearly been outdated for a while). Nintendo rarely take the seemingly obvious path, of course, but with sales slowing down, the console outdated and their chip shortage supposedly abating, there doesn't seem to be many reasons to cling onto the Switch rather than carrying a bit of momentum into its successor - and I'd imagine the Switch will still be supported to some degree for a while afterwards in any case.

I‘m looking forward to finally see some proper gameplay of TotK. I wonder, what are the chances that it looks as good as the first footage from BotW we saw back in 2014? That game got quite the visual downgrade unfortunately. But since the Switch is more modern than the Wii U, and since TotK isn’t a launch title but comes near the end of the system‘s lifetime instead, I‘m hopeful that we‘ll see some visual improvements.

People are hung up on thinking it MUST be a crossgen title. Nevermind that TP and BotW were only crossgen because GCN and Wii U were abysmal failures that Nintendo wanted to move on from. Nevermind that no one ever said this for SS because it was on a successful system. Once a dumb thought enters the public discourse, it becomes the apparent truth.
Excited! The last few Directs were pretty good so even though I'm ready to retire the good ol' Switch after Tears of the Kingdom, I'm still curious as to what's in store. At this point I don't believe we'll get Metroid Prime 4 for the Switch anymore but we'll see.
Some personal hopes & predictions for ports/remakes: Xenoblade Chronicles X, Kid Icarus Uprising, Bravely Default & Bravely Second or Baten Kaitos would be nice. Or even some other obscure RPG like Skies of Arcadia so I can finally sell of my GameCube.
As for new games... surprise me. The best announcements have always been the complete surprises no one saw coming, so here's hoping we get at least one of those.
