I really wish for a ToTK release date alongside Switch 2 console announcement
It is fine if TotK is just a Switch game. BotW was a Wii U title, TotK is actually made with the Switch's hardware in mind. Let it be the Switch Zelda. And then let Nintendo worry about what the Zelda designed for Switch 2 will look like.

I've got a good feeling about this one, which probably means it'll be shit.

The past Nintendo Directs have all been disappointing to me,I wont be watching this one live this time around, will wait till its finished to see all that is announced, if there was anything interesting, this generation was the first one that a Nintendo console isnt my primary console, I got the Switch same year of release, loved it,but now Playstation 5 is my primary console of choice, sick of technically weak releases of late on Switch....Bayonetta 3 was a huge disappointment, graphics wise,I dont Blake the Switch, but Platinum Games incompetence, they took on too many projects, game was rush and poorly optimized

There was a lot of backlash, but at least they had an excuse to do it.
Which was? I feel like you will say "rising costs of gane development", but that affects everyone, including Nintendo.

The real reason is because they can, and they know the suckes(buyers), that includes me and you, will buy them regardless if it is 60 or 70 dollars, because the popularity threshold for gaming to be able to charge that much has been breached.

Remember people: Companies real friends at the end of the day is money, not you.

Hype is real!

This sheriff's office in CA confirms that this Nintendo Direct is a "once-in-a-lifetime event".

New hardware definitely being announced.

It's at least utilizing new technology. The consumer can straight up see the difference in quality, which does make a difference.

But like I said, there was backlash there too.

Switch 2 with PS4 Pro level hardware, Zelda delayed to march next year together with Metroid 4, both as launch games. I know, my grandpa used to be friends with the janitor of Nintendo's cafeteria.

Pokemon DLC ?
More Zelda footage 🤔
Nintendo is smoking crack if they up the prices of their games for an underpowered consoles. 64 GB cartridge space doesn't cut it in 2023

Batteries wouldn't last on hour gaming with PS4 Pro specs. I don't think getting Xbox One specs with sub 400$ and the portability of current switch will be realistic either. Something between 2x-3x the power of current Switch would be more realistic.

You're smoking fent if you think it matters

This game sold over 20,000,000 copies in under 3 months

BotW is already THE Switch Zelda. Yes, it was originally made for the Wii U, but that version is not the one anyone played or cares about.

Yeah... i hope the docked mode at least gets close. I would love if they released a second home console only model with better specs, but knowing Nintendo there is 0.1% chance of that happening.

I actually think there is a good chance Nintendo says something about it now.

I think they will be vague, but PS5 is selling too well for them to just sit around and ignore it anymore.
Switch still outsold the PS5 last year most months.

It will lose to it, don't get me wrong, but Nintendo couldn't care less if it has a down year. 2024 was always the earliest a Switch 2 would happen, and Nintendo is not saying anything this early.

I think Nintendo has taken a lot of time to review their last mistakes.

Releasing Majora's Mask on the N64 was a big mistake. Looking at the receptions of Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild shows it likely would have been much better waiting a year to launch it on the GameCube.

Releasing Skyward Sword on the Wii when consumers were losing interest was a mistake. It also likely would have been a much more successful and polished release as a Wii U game.

But those mistakes also what set them on the path they are on, and what lead to the Switch's success as well as Breath of the Wild's (they kind of go hand in hand).

What is the best scenario? They cannot burn 120 million Switch owners. They know damn well everyone wants a next gen version of this game, but that not everyone will be able to get that inevitable console.

They don't want to slow burn the sales of Tears of the Kingdom.

So instead.... Make a shit-ton of money now. Raise the price $10. Announce a free next-gen update of the game the day your next console arrives.

Long overdue for a Switch iteration containing more muscle.
Would be a great to launch TOTK with it.

BUT this is Nintendo so......

Really not expecting much of anything out of Nintendo here. It seems they're content to ride the outdated OG Switch
until the cows come home.

Star Fox adventures 2- from panzer dragoon saga team

That one got me lol.

TBH after the 2015 or 2016 Playstation E3, where we got FF7Remake, Shen Mue 3 and Last Guardian I believe any game can come back. And then we got RE2 remake, lots of games everythought would not happen, actually happened.

Outside of the expected ToTK Switch model, I'm not expecting any hardware announcements. Hoping for a bunch of games to be announced and for more information on Metal Slug Tactics as that should be coming soon!
