You see the remains of Uraya in the background so this takes place a long ass time after Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

The mecha look like the Mechon and the soldiers shown look like the Homs soldiers from XC1 as well. I wonder if the dimensions reconverged...

Okay so the Mechonis' blade is definitely there. And the mechs we see are versions of the face Mechons from XBC1

We also see a character wielding a Monado, but we also appear to see a character using a Blade. Have we got a direct universe cross over between XBC1 and 2 in this game?

Edit. And on that title screen we have both the ruined blade of the Mechonis and the head of Uraya. XB1 and 2 universes both present confirmed.

It looks good but it's getting old hat by now with that style, it looks a lot like the XC remake in environments etc., it doesn't make me go wow in the same way, they need something more fresh but maybe a final thing was needed to round off a trilogy as they say it ties 1 and 2 together.

Seeing the same grass plains and overall flat lands with samey landmarks and biomes all over again. Guess the creator got this chance to make something like the xenosaga games once again after all, good for him but it better be the last unless a major overhaul is in order to wow us again.

...No. XC and XC 2 are clearly better, but XCX was VERY interesting and a great game, even if they dropped the ball hard on the narrative side.

I want Monolith to grow big enough to tackle XC, XCX and a new IP simultaniously.

yes they announced it would bring them both together. I don't know the story as I haven't finished 1 but looks to be the case
