Nintendo Direct announced for September 12 (6AM PT, 9AM ET, 2PM UK)

Metroid for October - She's orange, pumpkins are orange, it makes sense.
MKW DLC of DKB stuff.
Something with cats
Something with farming
An old port that only 5 people played originally
Tomodachi life
Some sort of recent 3rd party games for much more than their current price on other consoles.
One last thing is Fire Emblem.

This is a very unlikely thing to happen. Prime 3 is a Wii game. They just dropped a GCN game two weeks ago. And typically NSO drops are between Directs as gap fillers, not during them.

If any shadow drops happen it's more likely to be Mario-related given the 40th anniversary.

😂. This ultimate Direct of your dreams that reveals their entire pipeline for multiple years in a row, all announced in one insane showcase. In your dreams, man.

Also Raiders is a spin-off/ single player game. Deliberately not a numbered entry since it's not multiplayer.

I love this as well but kinda bummed for MP4

60 minutes? Wow...

The pointless rumor mill has been kinda slow for this. As far as I know, the only rumors are 1) Marvel Rivals shadowdrop (since it is being released on PS4 tomorrow), 2) Mario something or other (40th anniversary this weekend), 3) Three "7" games (FF7, 007, Resident Evil 7, Black Ops 7, who knows)?

Personally, I'm not expecting 3D Mario yet (unfortunately) or Metroid 6 (understandably). I would really like to see some more meaty single player games announced for Switch 2 that aren't on Switch 1; kinda sad that DK is still the only first party one. Fire Emblem 4 Remake would be nice to finally see, but it wouldn't surprise me if its cross gen and thus would not get me to pick up a new system.

If I'm dreaming, a Monolith game that's not a boring anime 100 hour grindfest with an overly complicated turn based battle system would be ideal. These guys know how to build worlds that make me want to explore, but I just don't care about Xenoblade's system. Make an action RPG, please! And make it just a tiny bit more grounded. If BOTW can sell 30 million, surely we can have a sister franchise, right? Maybe sword-lady concept art is a real game, who knows. But I'd love to see it.

And Symphony of the Night. But that's really dreaming. C'mon, Konami...
Other rumours are around DQ7 remaster, the Resident Evil games, and potentially other ports like BG3, Assassin's Creed Mirage/Shadows, MGS Delta and a bunch of Microsoft games. Though not all of these of will be at this Direct.
Usually they announce the timeframe of the game announcements like this winter or something, and veer off for 1-2 games. This time it was just upcoming.
That's actually a really good point. Maybe they will reveal more of their 2026 lineup.
Telling people a game is coming out in 2025 and putting it at the very end of the year is disingenuous.
Smash Bros. Ultimate was announced for 2018 and came out in December. Nothing disingenuous about that.

Why are people so obsessed with Astral Chain? I've seen literally nobody talk about that game for years.
Because I had fucking blast playing that game, and I want to play it again with even better FPS and hopefully sequel.

I beg they drop some actual bangers this time and stop wasting time. GTA IV or V port would be nice since R* killed GTA Online on Deck no doubt to sell GTA on Switch 2.

RDR2 would be very nice to see.

Also all the Switch 1 games getting 60FPS and or Rez boosted.

Knowing Rockstar and their need to make game announcements on their own terms something tells me won't see it here....but hey, anything's possible. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

That said I could def see CDPR announcing the Witcher 3 Switch 2 "Next Gen Update pack" at the direct

There is also good chance we might see new Fire Emblem game which makes me very excited.

I said this before, Fire Emblem Engage might not have best story or characters but the actual gameplay and map design was fantastic.

Those were intended to be pick & choose type list, no shit that all won't be released in one direct. Just cause they call it Raiders doesn't mean internally it's not Splatoon 4.
Super Mario World is Super Mario Bros. 4.

Yeah Rockstar never put an add in a Nintendo Direct, relying solely on tweets or Youtube videos (L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption, GTA Trilogy annoucements).

Eh, I see the logic but it's not quite the same situation. At it's core, Splatoon is a multiplayer-focused series. That's it's core DNA. It's not quite the same as Mario 4 morphing into something a bit more and them altering the name to World because the World is bigger and inter-connected. Mario still jumps and collects coins, he didn't switch genres. No doubt a true Splatoon 3 successor is in the works, but Raiders is coming first, seems more likely to me.

Your predictions read as predictions, not a Pick-and-Choose, hence my original comment. My mistake if that wasn't the intention.

I'd say at it's core Splatoon is a shooter of sorts, multiplayer is where it shines sure, but the single player stuff are solid.

People put way too much stock into merely the length of something. No doubt they've been quiet and there is a lot of ground to cover. Their reasoning in the past is that ~45 minutes is the sweet spot to not be overly long and have people become bored. Since we all assume they are simply including what would otherwise be a separate Mario 4th Mini Direct into this one, the unusual day and unusual length make perfect sense. Their only other option was really to have a Direct today and another one tomorrow, and that was probably considered, but... why? Might as well just make one giant all-consuming Direct where everyone gets all the information and there's no splintering or confusion.

September Directs are usually pretty good, this one will likely be unusually strong. There aren't any 2026 Switch 2 games yet announced, so opening or closing with one or two for 1H 2026 would make sense and be good timing.

Next Level usually releases a game every 3 years, and we're now at over 3 years and still no announcement, so a four year gap tells me that the inevitable Luigi's Mansion 4 is gonna be a banger in 2026 if it's done by then.

That's fair. It certainly prioritizes multiplayer as it's main draw and single-player has always been more of an afterthought. There's potential there, for sure.

Def. I think the mechanic is very different AND they can prob expend on it as Nintendo does.

I just really hate the series art direction, wish they chose something less disgusting.

Super Mario World is Super Mario Bros. 4.

Nintendo themselves are advertising it as a "Splatoon spin-off game," so they definitely don't consider it Splatoon 4.

That said, I'm not sure why I keep hearing people confidently saying that it's single-player. As far as I know Nintendo has never confirmed that. At least there's no mention of it on the game's official page:

This. They're going out of their way to call it a spin-off, so that no one assumes it will have multiplayer/ mistake it to be a successor to Splatoon 3. But also at the same time not make it sound like Splatoon as a franchise is moving to single-player. All about managing expectations.
