It's going to be a scramble to get those collectors editions. If I have to pay a scalper, so be it. I need that artbook to go along with the other two.
In Canada is gonna be almost impossible, it takes forever to become available for pre-order and as soon as it is available it gets sold out so damn fast.

I hope you get to make a Xenoblade Chronicles 3 OT here. I'll try to get more hours than the 800 I put into XC2 over two playthroughs.

I could buy a spare collectors edition and ship it to you if you want. I don't know how hard it would be here in the US to get one. You could always send me PayPal for it. i don't have alot of positive feedback here but I do on Reset Era.

Same, but I really hope it doesn't come to that.

That being said, XC2 was hard to get but after launch Walmart was throwing them out for $70 like a year later.

For some reason games published by Nintendo are super tough to get collectors edition, Playstation games other hand are super easy.

She could be, she even has he blue fire on her hair like Brighid.

All this stuff in 3 has been planned long ago before 2 released. Takahashi always had that kind of mindset with storytelling. They were planting the seeds in Torna expansion when it was mentioned that Blades are not much different from "humanity" genetically. The implications of crossbreeding was prominent in Xenoblade 1 and even more so in Future Connected. We gotta wait until September to get all these mysteries answered.

It would be wild if the game actually planted some multiverse seeds during the story, and ended in a teaser picture, which reads "The Story continues in Xenogears" or something like that. Even if it only helped that game to finally get a release in Europe.

Was it common knowledge that Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2 were set in the same world? Either I totally missed that or forgot it.
Xenoblade 2's ending pretty much confirmed that.

Also Takahashi has been planning for this, it's not something that came out of nowhere.

We need a prequel manga. I dont know why Nintendo won't greenlight xenoblade anime/manga. Namco stay doing that for the Tales franchise.
Not all but usually most anime based games are very mediocre. I wouldn't mind one if has decent budget with good studio like BONES or Wit Studio or even Ufotable.

Ufotable is exactly who I was thinking.
I like them, they make some gorgeous anime but at the same time I'm not exactly fan of their overly heavy use of CG and special effects. The choreograph in XC2's cutscenes are really good so to me Wit Studio great choice to capture those epic fights in the game.

Aw damn, I forgot that there could be a collector's edition.
I missed out on the first two, but I'm not letting this opportunity pass by.

Do you guys think we'll get XC amiibos this time? It's a shame there are no XC amiibos except Shulk.

My theory is that Aionios is later on will transform into Mira, the planet in Xenoblade X. Some areas from the trailer have Xenoblade X vibe

Should we assume this girl(Sena) is a descendant of Brighid?

I hope so. She also looks like she comes from the Ardainian bloodline as well, so maybe she is a descendant of Morag and Hugo. Possibly even the child of emperor Niall and Brighid.

What i'm really trying to say is I hope we get some evade tanks up in Xenoblade 3, my favorite class by far. I know Sena is wielding what seems to be a shield hammer so she is more likely a shield tank, but i really hope she is an evasion tank or a at least a combination of shield tank and evasion tank. Evade is presumably in her a blood.

The series creator has already mentioned how it's intended to be a much "darker" and adult-themed take on the long-running JRPG series

The benefit to this happening is that I can completely right off Dragon Quest much like modern Final Fantasy.

You say negative, I say realist.

Square-Enix is trying to make bigger franchises more and more accessible so that they can profit more. Dragon Quest is likely to have some sort of real time action based combat, and it will kill its identity.

Square-Enix just can't accept turn-based in their big budget games anymore because some suit probably held a meeting with spreadsheets and data that said that "turn-based doesn't sell as well! If you want more money and more sales, you MUST get rid of turn-based! Add fancy effects and make the player mash buttons to improve engagement and sell more copies!"

Other than smaller budget games, which appeals to a niche anyway, Square-Enix gave up on turn-based, and the last big franchise that had it was Dragon Quest.
Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Forspoken, anything AAA will be real time action based for now.

Also, this load of bull

Which is the exact opposite what people that play those games go for.
Dragon Quest already has had some mature and dark moments, but it was never marketed as a selling point.

The more worrisome part

Yuji Horii will likely not be here with us for that long. I fear what will happen in the long term to this franchise.

Everything is pointing towards being announced this year, and being released in 2023.
I would say let us see some gameplay before you go all negative nancy.

Well, here's some positivity to this thread:

I have been following reactions around the internet, and so far the reaction have been extremely positive. Therefore, I firmly believe that this game will become the best-selling game Monolith Soft ever made, and will sell and be advertised in same manner as Metroid Dread was. Now, it will not become a Nintendo-level's of success, outside of Pokemon, JRPG's rarely if ever exceed 10 million copies per game sold, and this one won't either. But I'm predicting 3-4 million when everything is said and done.

Oh, and I hope if there is an expansion pass, it will be as meaty as XC2's was. That was the best 30€ ever spent on video games.

Relax Danjin, don't go all insecure about other's opinions.
Sorry if that's how I come off, but I feel like you don't enjoy any game and easy get over negative on a game you barely know.

So far we know absolutely nothing on DQ12….nothing, let's just wait for at least one more trailer before you go all out on it.

I have a feeling this will not do as well as Xenoblade 2.

But might do good enough for what it is.

Why?
I don't think this will do the same crazy numbers as other Nintendo first party stuff, but I'd be really surprised if it doesn't do better than 2.

Switch has a much bigger install base now than in 2017, they've toned down the character design so it has broader appeal instead of aiming at body pillow owning weebs, and these usually review pretty well (80+ metascore)

I think the sexually pandering/titillating character designs and guests artists helped XB2.

I guess time will tell.

Imo this still looks anime enough that weebs will pick it up anyway, but it's toned down enough that it will increase the potential audience.

The argument that Xenoblade 2 would lose "mass appeal" because of the designs was made on this board when 2 was first revealed. Fast forward to 2022 and its the highest selling Xeno game with Takahashi saying Pyra is extremely popular, even being included in Smash.
