I saw it as the first thing under Recent Arrivals, but it still says "Coming to eShop" and I can't purchase it.
Oh, I hadn't checked that for. But, yeah, looks like it's not up for me either.

Shop must still be updating, because Lufia 3 is up for purchase but you can only get to it by searching.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is $10.99 in Canada. Not that I was going to buy it anyway, but they better not raise the price of VC games next. They're already grossly overpriced for what you get.

>mfw Europe gets the DKC trilogy discounted when DKCR is available for purchase
>mfw Metroid: Zero Mission doesn't show up alongside the Prime Trilogy

What's mfw?

uhhhh Guacamelee is showing up as $3.90 for me... price error? What's the new content in the Turbo Championship Edition anyway?

edit: seems like the new content is pretty substantial... okay I bought it.

It's really odd, these are the prices I'm seeing for the indie connection games:

BIT.TRIP RUNNER 2: $5.99 (60% off)
Chasing Aurora: $4.79 (40% off)
Guacamelee STCE: $3.90 (74% off)
SteamWorld Dig: $4.39 (60% off)
Swords & Soldiers: $1.19 (60% off)
Teslagrad: $7.99 (47% off)

yeah I saw the same when I logged into the US eShop, just to see if it was a quirk with the CA prices. I guess the answer is yes and no, because the discounts are inconsistent between countries, but the inconsistency in the discount across all games is consistent with both. :p

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
So I don't know if anyone's been able to test this yet. I know Galaxy 2 is on the eShop now. I know you can continue your disc version save file onto the digital copy. Does it work the other way around too? Like, if I were to play the digital version of Mario Galaxy 2 or Metroid Prime Trilogy, then later put in the disc version, could I continue my digital copy save file on the disc copy?

Seems like as far as the vWii is concerned, you have the disc in the slot. It should be able to recognize a save from a downloaded copy when you play it on disc.

Chasing Aurora is pretty, but multiplayer only. No SP. So Don't get if you never intend to play with friends in sport-arcade like gameplay.

Not true. It has singleplayer. It's just a time trial mode though. But "no SP" is still incorrect.

BTW, when .gif-searching I came across a YNI .gif:

lbewxwtlpqmybhkl482f.gif

Reminds me how good that game looks in motion. I know it's very much a NSMB-style of Yoshi's Island game, but I still enjoyed it.

Everyone who dissed YNI for its visuals needs to get their eyes checked, seriously.

I would have expected $20 for GC so this honestly isn't too bad considering.

It seems SNES isn't coming, apparently Nintendo probably lost the rights to the chip that it uses.

They added the voice effects?! AURHGHGCFFGHFFH

If it is down to a patent issue with the chip (personally I think that idea makes no sense) then I believe the patents run out this year

Edit: The Pokemon ORAS special demo seems to on the EU eShop now.

Exciting stuff. Super gimicky secret sale that probably needs an NNID etc in Japan and North America also getting the indie sale complete with the same qualifying condition (NOA finally do conditional sales! this opens up "cross buy" possibilities)

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is $10.99 in Canada. Not that I was going to buy it anyway, but they better not raise the price of VC games next. They're already grossly overpriced for what you get.
Do you understand that is actually cheaper than the US eShop due to the weaker Canadian Dollar?

They've done conditional sales before (Super Mario World/Super Mario 2, etc) the difference is NOA has never done a conditional sale like this that accounts for your library on the other system. For example, getting a discount (or even free copy) on a Wii U game for owning the 3DS version or vice versa. This is what NOA apparently doesn't have the infrastructure for, checking your library on the other system for promotions.

I still can't comprehend how NoA can lack the "infrastructure" for something on a technological level while NoE is all clear. It is beyond baffling.

And I don't mean this in a hurr hurr Reggie is incompetent kind of way, but it's just bizarre that the underlying technology between the regions would be this different.

I've driven through Atlanta one time en route to Florida. Traffic is cray cray. By far the worst during the whole journey (coming from Toronto). Dx

I really wish NOA would give us games that came out in EU previously. I remember being pretty disappointed that we didn't get Another Code R either.

Yeah, that'd be pretty nice to have. Not holding out much hope though. 😔

Afterburner II get! Can't wait for 3D Fantasy Zone next month.

Nintendo Video is discontinued now right? I just decided to randomly boot the app and found a recap clip for a cartoon called Bravest Warrior which is done by the same animators as Adventure Time, will have to look into that more.

What an opportunity to give us Trauma Team, Disney's Guilty Party, Shiren The Wanderer, Arc Rise Fantasia, Fishing Resort, Kirby's Dream Collection and Excitebots!

PvpdjOI.gif

Haha What's the source of this gif? I know it's Kristen Bell but what made her laugh so hard?

As said before, since the Gamepad can be used as a Classic Controller for Wii VC games, it certainly seems like it should be possible to patch in CC supported VC and Wii Ware games in Wii Mode. It'd be amazing to play top shelf Wii Ware games like MM 9&10, Cave Story and Gradius Rebirth on the Gamepad.

I'm in Atlanta actually. Up in Roswell actually.

I'm excited for future Wii downloads. Of the current bunch, I already own them, so won't be downloading them. But $10 for MPT is one hell of a deal.

A planned remaster for 2016/17 perhaps? :D

Perhaps, but I feel like Wii remasters are kind of off the table if SMG as a remaster is off the table and so is MPT at the moment. SMG is a much more popular game than TP, sales-wise. I very much doubt Nintendo would re-release SMG/MPT if they planned to remake them this gen. So I'm thinking (and hoping) that the same is true for any Wii games. As a result, I suspect any further remakes will be of GCN games, as WW HD was. FWIW, though, it seems like remasters are a very low priority for them at the moment since they said they have the capacity to do one pretty quickly now, and we haven't seen a single hint of one in well over a year now.

Oh really? Thanks, I may then pickup Metriod Trilogy if this is the case. I do have the disc but this way I could save the wear and tear on it

A planned remaster for 2016/17 perhaps? :D

Hmm, I love TP (one of my faves in the series) but it would need a lot more work than Wind Waker needed with it's easier-to-port cel shaded art style. Twilight Princess looked great for a Cube game but a lot of it's textures would need to be completely redone, the effort needed would make it a remake not a remaster. I would love to see it in widescreen without the motion controls, that way we would get the best of both versions of TP with a correct, left handed Link :p

Everyone who dissed YNI for its visuals needs to get their eyes checked, seriously.

This I agree with. YNI was rated way too low, I enjoyed it and it was gorgeous to look at. Was it as good as SNES YI? Not quite, but certainly not a 6/10 or whatever some of the lower rated sites gave it.

They should add the Gamecube version instead so I can get off-TV play.

How would that work? Just wishful thinking of GCN VC, you mean? I'd love that but it seems unlikely.

In a way it feels like GCN was Nintendo's most "weird," niche game experimental console. Their main franchises all went off in odd directions and they debuted a lot of unusual new games and IPs.
