Nintendo Downloads - November 2014

I'm in NA so I can't guarantee anything but I have gotten download codes from both Club Nintendo and developer contests on twitter and I got DDP points for them. The amount of points you get should be based on the eShop price at time of download.

That's great. Thanks.

Heh, ya know, considering Nintendo only said "soon" for when Duck Hunt was coming to the Virtual Console, imagine if it was released today.

Oh wow, I forgot Pokemon Puzzle Challenge was out today. Guess I'm grabbing that.

Shovel Knight was a lot better than I was expecting (not a huge fan of Megaman so I was unsure) and definitely one of the best neo-retro games there is. That being said, I'm glad I bought it when it came out in NA, and also that I already paid for the MK8 DLC and WoD months ago, so now I just have SSB, whatever digital offerings I get, and possibly Pokemon to worry about this month.

If money isn't an issue, you should easily be able to finish the first playthrough of Shovel Knight in less than a week (assuming you're not already hooked on something like Fantasy Life or lots of pre-expansion WoW stuff.)

I don't get it, why would you not have a thread for a bunch of game announcements/release dates? Isn't it a news thread basically?

I think the idea is more people should use community for general all-encompassing threads like this, and individual announcements that you (or anyone) has actual interest in discussing and playing at the moment have new threads made for discussing them.

So 20 new games / news items are released during the week and they get indexed / mentioned here, that's fine, and useful, but now if you're interested in playing and discussing any of those games, you simply would create a thread to discuss that specific game like normal. If this structure doesn't work out, we can always go back.
:/

So shouldn't the Nintendo Direct thread be in Community?

Keeping gaming news out of Gaming just seems really silly to me.

Yeah it just seems really arbitrary to me to keep the weekly PR in community when Directs and other stuff which basically serve the same purpose are new thread material. Eh.

Oh there are a whole bunch of threads that should be in Community but aren't for some reason.

#GamerGate thread 2: it's about feminism in games journalism
120/144Hz Thread of Lightboosting Pixel Perfect Headshots
Upscalers, CRT's, PVM's & RGB: Retro gaming done right!
Canadian Gaming Deals and Discussion Thread 4: That $70s Show
Indie Game Development Discussion Thread | Of Being Professionally Poor
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U POTD Thread XVIII: Today, we are all Mewtwos

Those really are communities. But I digress.

Question for fellow europeans: what are the odds on a sale for SMT IV happenning this year? Does Atlus have sales on the Euro eshop like on the US?

Pokemon Puzzle Challenge will be bought

and Pier Solar too probably; don't know whether to get this version or Steam version

Nice to see a decent amount of games get a free theme as well. Just sucks I REALLY wanted the Famicom one, but you have to get Ultimate NES Remix, which I don't have a desire to get when I have both of them on Wii U.

Think they'll be timed exclusives?

I feel the same way. Free themes with purchases is great, but it'd be best if those themes could also be bought for a couple bucks without needing to buy a game or cover plates or whatever.

At least my favorite theme so far (AC Bulletin Board) is available to buy.

What happened to the "Coming Soon" section of the PR. It has been missing for 2 weeks now.
Yeah, not a fan of this trend. Knowing VC releases for the next 1-2 weeks has been great for building buzz.

The last several weeks have been really heavy on eShop releases though so maybe it'll return when the schedule lightens up again?

Nintendogs? So now every Nintendo published game on 3DS is on the eShop aside from Steel Diver and Spirit Camera, right?

FYI, eShop's been updated. Time to download Pokemon Puzzle Challenge.

Man, does it feel nice being able to add 29 cents to buy it when PSN or XBLA would've required me to add another $5.

Heads-up, each of the Nintendogs + Cats games on the eShop are $14.99.

Darn. I bought the DS Nintendogs at launch, and the 3DS Nintendogs at launch, and with both of them, I just wished this could be always on my system all the time.
So, that would have been an instant purchase...

But, we had my wife's dog put to sleep a month or so ago =(
