People to this day complain about the Vita memory card situation when they find out about it. And people frequently list the memory cards as a reason the console has failed.I don't recall people claiming anti-consumerism and demanding Vita to fail either. There's a difference between complaining and insane overreactions on the verge of schadenfreude.
These type of threads aggravate me to high hell. People will defend anything.

Many times it went on sale for $150.
Was the Vita actually sold like this? Serious question, since I didn't get on board until the WD Amazon bundle last Christmas (which came with a near-useless 4GB one).

I don't think anyone's defended anything. Most just point out the insane overreactions.
OMG, does the warranty really say that? The best part? Using a non-official adapter VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY!
Good shit, Nintendo. Good shit.
Wii U 2 will not come with a controller to save you money in case you have a nunchuck laying around.
Does anyone know if when you trade in your XL for credit towards the NN3DS they require the charger as well?
Hoping I don't have to actually buy one...
Ecgh.

The new 3DS is sold at a reasonable price. It's not like they don't give you the choice. I don't need a 4th charger thx.
Nintendo is overestimating the amount of spare DSi/3DS chargers the average North American household owns.

Did they make a statement on the N3DS? (Or lack thereof)
The principal of being sold a chargeable piece of electronics without it being bundled with the cord to charge it.About what then? If I had the choice, I would choose the SKU WITHOUT charger. Others would choose differently. Can't win them all.
I'd totally buy the cradle though because they are extremely nice![]()
There's nothing insane about expecting a charger to come with a device that requires one.![]()

Don't Understand why Xbox/Sony and some of their shitty practices are being brought into this thread with people saying *See this company does this bad things too!* Like it somehow magically makes this situation disappear or somehow lessens the shittyness of Nintendo's Actions.
lying through their teeth
they're just cheap as hell

It doesn't pay for itself at all if you had no intention of buying the games given to you, or were going to wait until they were dirt cheap. I would never have purchased Infamous Last Light if Sony didn't throw it at me. Nor do I care about The Swapper, though I might have picked it up cheap someday.
Meanwhile, I do want to play online for Bloodborne.
Sony isn't "giving" you money with PS+. They're taking it from you. They're making it slightly less painful by salving the wound with old games that have already long passed their sales prime, or a few indie titles that probably never would have hit it big otherwise.
$200 for decade old tech and not even including an AC adapter is hardly reasonable.
I've played the shit out of my 3ds, but come the fuck on that $200 for this tech is reasonable. They just are hoping their hardcore fanbase pays for it so they can string out the 3ds life cycle a little long since sales outside of Japan tanked last year.
This is just another way to squeeze some extra cash for Nintendo.
Yep.There's nothing insane about expecting a charger to come with a device that requires one.
It's a diversion tactic. Fanboys have to defend Nintendo so they bring up the poor decisions of other companies. As if it absolves Nintendo of their shitty decisions.Don't Understand why Xbox/Sony and some of their shitty practices are being brought into this thread with people saying *See this company does this bad things too!* Like it somehow magically makes this situation disappear or somehow lessens the shittyness of Nintendo's Actions.
Yep. Exactly on point. It's a diversion tactic. Fanboys have to defend Nintendo so they bring up the poor decisions of other companies. As if it absolves Nintendo of their shitty decisions.
Ah, so Nintendo is actually in financial trouble? Guess we know what tactics they will use if it doesn't get better.Nintendo has been selling New 3DS in Japan for a lot cheaper relative to the US because the Yen is weak. Nintendo could have put an adapter in the box and still made a decent amount of change from February early adopters onward.

Can't see the problem here... That's a pretty reasonable explanation. The console would cost more if they included the adaptor as standard. Now you're saving money if you don't need the adaptor, or paying what it would have cost had they included the adaptor as standard if you buy the adaptor seperately.
So what if Apple releases a new Ipad without a charger, and they use the same excuse that old Ipads use the same charger and they dont want to overprice the consumer
Im sorry but that sounds truly stupid as hell
Im just using Apple as an example here. Not sure how anyone could defend this nonsense.

Doesn't change the fact that ps+ does save me money.![]()
I hear you. But this is the bet they make? I am all about corporate bottom lines. I'm a scum sucking corporate douchebag myself. And even I can't get my head around how this makes sense, that this is the way they try to squeeze out a couple extra bucks. It just makes no business sense (which I'm realizing offends me more than the consumer angle).

My guess is that it is just charged enough to turn on and register so you can check if you have a DOA product. That is what many smart phones do.Does the unit come fully charged or is this product unsuable out of the box? If so this is one of the dumbest things i've EVER seen from an electronics manufacturer.

Wait how do people have more than one adapter?
Yeeeuch. They're assholes. They said it was about choice and made the choice for us.
I wish I was joking.
Mine came half charged out of the box. Needed a charger pretty fast.Does the unit come fully charged or is this product unsuable out of the box? If so this is one of the dumbest things i've EVER seen from an electronics manufacturer.
Yeah, and Sony learned that not including a memory card was dumb and decided to do that for the next shipment they batched.....In the past I've been pissed with Sony on how they treat the Vita but.....Nintendo just reached a whole new low with how they are handling the launch of the 'New' 3DS XL (and not even giving people the chance to get the cheaper platform; only stuck with the big version that is the most pricey X().
Glad I was right. Most tech companies have standard practices. Nintendo just decided the standard practice of including a charger for your new tech was costing them too much money.Mine came half charged out of the box. Needed a charger pretty fast.
Wouldn't bother me. Drowning in those white cables here.
