MercurySteam. The developer is capable of making great games(Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow, Metroid: Dread), but they need guidance. Monolith Soft needed Nintendo as well. I keep telling you guys that MercurySteam should do a remake of Zelda 2.

Grezzo is also an easy pick.

they can buy whatever studios dont interest me. They can buy EA and Ubisoft, i don't care. Dont buy anything good though, im not gonna buy your console anyway.

No point. Virtually none of the old guard work at Rare anymore. They'd be buying a name. Microsoft would still own all of the IP, Banjo, Conker, Jet Force, Sea of Thieves, and even Grabbed by the Ghoulies. This is why despite Sony buying Bungie, Halo isn't on Playstation (yet).

Nintendo would be much better off buying Playtonic, which does include a number of old devs from that SNES and N64 era of Rare. I don't know if Yooka-Laylee has the pull to warrant a studio purchase, however. Playtonic might also prefer to remain independent.

It's good to have a war chest and still be careful about spending too much just "because you can".

As some of us are old enough to remember, Nintendo needed that big war chest to weather the drag of the 3DS/Wii U generation, where they went for a period of years and had multiple annual net losses, due to poor sales.

The business is cyclical, costs are skyrocketing, and they won't be riding this high forever. But, yes things do look very healthy for them right now.

The path for Sony console is pretty predictable, more power and speed.
Where would Nintendo go from here. I think they have finally settled on the form factor with Switch and just keeps adding power in a smaller screen which should be cheaper.

Next battle would be cloud gaming in a decade or two for sure where Nintendo might just fail or stick to their guns.

I'm not a stock technical chartist, but I just notice this basic pattern, a break out of multi-years cup and handle. This is EXTREMELY BULLISH. If they execute Switch 2 launch correctly, the multi year target could be as high as $45-$50 or even more (Not a financial advise, but just from my basic knowledge of stock TA)

They should buy as many studios as they can and raise prices to 120$ with no discounts ever. That'll make some of you happy.

They could buy Mercury Steam obviously. Better output than Retro and they work well together. I don't know that they really need to buy much though. They usually put out 4-8 1st party titles a year at this point so they're honestly about at release capacity. It doesn't scale up forever. People only buy so many games.

I could see them buying a CG animation company to try and make more movies or shows in house. They pretty much have their games division in working order and I forsee expansion into other areas.
