I am. I grew up on Nintendo handhelds, have always bought them, have a fascination of them.
I'm also getting older and getting more busy, so picking up a game anywhere I am is great.
That's how I'm using it. The dock is simply a charger.

Anyone going handheld only with the Switch? I haven't even unpacked the second tray and not planning on it either.
Anyone compared the sound quality between the headphone jack and the HDMI from the dock? I might have to buy a converter if the HDMI is significantly better.
Hdmi audio extractor to 3.5mm or optical (I have a headphone amp that takes optical). There is no doubt audio would be better from HDMI out so a better/bigger dac and amp can process it.
What kind of converter do you mean?
So are anyone elses Switch speakers quiet? Max volume doesn't seem that loud, and at half or less it's quite hard to hear the music in a game like Zelda.
I asked once before on this but only got one reply.
Nah, still waiting. Won't be getting mine til late March/early April. I didn't care about the wait when I got them because I figured "eh, doubt I'll get a scratch that fast, I can wait."
Oh boy did I fuck up.
Switch doesn't support compressed audio (like Wii U) so forget optical.Hdmi audio extractor to 3.5mm or optical (I have a headphone amp that takes optical).
Do Nintendo games even use uncompressed audio? Feel like the file sizes say otherwise.
Accidentally put a JoyCon strap on wrong, chipped a nail trying to remove it. Fucking awful design, it feels like you're breaking it trying to get it out
Definitely can barely hear them if there's background noise going on.So are anyone elses Switch speakers quiet? Max volume doesn't seem that loud, and at half or less it's quite hard to hear the music in a game like Zelda.

I got the official Nintendo case and screen protector. Spent so long cleaning the screen and getting dust off, but so much dust still got under or on the screen protector
So in portable mode, pressed the power button and I was already in the 'home' section of the OS in zero seconds. How is this possible. This is going from a completely off state to on and ready in 0 seconds.

Well no shit.
Japan shop doesn't like either of my CCs. I'm being told to check my input.
I just need about 1000, does anywhere do digital codes relatively quick? Or maybe somebody knows what's going on?
Same. Loving the Switch more each day.Playing on our big screen and then swapping to portable to get a few extra hours in is amazing

I will definitely be going at like 95% handheld and 5% tv mode. I have not even unpacked the dock yet.
No you're just waking it from sleep. To shut down the Switch requires a long button press and a menu selection. The Nintendo and Switch logos display during boot.
That said waking from completely powered down is still fast , I just tested it and it was around five seconds.
Because it wasn't off, it was in sleep mode. To fully turn off the system you have to hold down the power button until a menu appears and shut it down from there.

Had to send in my neon switch in for repair today... was playing the system in handheld mode last night and it was working fine, I take the system and dock it for the night so it can charge up again, Tried to play some Zelda this afternoon and my system wont turn on! I attempted to reset the system and it still wouldn't boot past the Nintendo logo. I noticed that the charger was working but the system itself wouldn't charge at all, regardless if the power was connected to the the dock or the system. Called Nintendo and they made me go through everything I had done to troubleshoot the system and it still doesn't work, I never had a launch day console stop working but I guess their is a first time for everything lol.
70% TV, 30% handheld for me. I only go handheld when someone wants to use the TV.
Hmm, my B button on the right joy-con is suddenly less responsive for me. It'll click down but it won't respond, I have to have the thing pressed down pretty hard now for it to register.
Only used it for a dozen hours too, lame.
Sorry if this is a question that has been answered before, but where is World of Goo and the other 2 games by the same guys? Weren't they supposed to be launch? Are they actually there and I'm doing eShop wrong?
Did they mention anything about transferring your save games if they have to replace the unit?
I know it's been said by a lot of other people, but the Neon color really grew on me since January 12th. It looks very cool and unique.
File sizes have no relation to whether sound output is compressed or not.Hdmi audio extractor to 3.5mm or optical (I have a headphone amp that takes optical).

I had made a comment to the person on the phone that I was annoyed that I might lose my save files for Zelda because I was quite a few hours into the game, He pretty much said that if my unit were replaced that right now it wouldn't be a refurbished system but a brand new one and that I will most likely lose all my data including my save data.
I'm surprised because I expected I would play in TV mode 90% of the time but so far I've probably split 50/50 between it and handheld mode.
Something great about playing BoTW while laying in bed.
