Damn it why did I buy this. Now I want to call in sick tomorrow and play all day. Really enjoying it. Of course I got a sweet home planet consisting of all herbivores, low space cop count and full of goodies. Pretty planet too. Phew!!
Now off to space for the first time.
I redeemed my preorder ship instantly and it came with the same busted components and quest stuff as the stock broken ship. It just had me fix it and unlock the prints as the OG ship.
That's what I always do when I see a "?" behind a mountain. When I reach the destination, there isn't a mountain there anymore. I got multiple upgrades for the plasma launcher and I'm loving it.
Ouch... That's good to know though as I'm about to start my game and wasn't going to take the pre-order ship immediately. So are you saying that we either have to redeem right away, or have to finish all the tutorials before redeeming the pre-order ship?
Seriously, the inventory as of now is a nuisance and really makes exploration a pain in the ass. What's worse that upgrades take up inventory. Why do that?
Minerals are abundant, and you don't need rare ones in the beginning when space is an issue. Just bring materials you know you can use. And always keep some carbon around, I've found.
That sucks. You're the second person I've seen in here whose Amazon order got bumped to Wednesday. I think I might skip them from now on.

Say you find planet Dickbutt. It'd be nice if me and my six year old could rename it but it won't affect the database entry of the original name. Basically, it only changes the name for my save file, not in the game's database.

The pre-order ship has a hyperdrive while your starting ship doesn't though, right? That's why some people were skipping it until later, to make things more challenging.

There's supposed to be a profanity filter, but I guess Hello's servers are too busy dying in a fire to worry about such things.
edit: and since this game is rated PEGI 7, that's probably a mandatory thing?
I just want the ability to hide all player discovery names.
Damn. Game just completely froze up my system. Lost 45 minutes or so as I'm still on first planet and far away from craft looking for last damn thing I needed.
So I picked it up earlier this evening and I keep asking my buddy if I'm going to enjoy it. He's evading the question. He almost never does that. He knows my tastes pretty well. But with this refuses to give me a straight answer lol. All he can say is that it's "relaxing". To open or not open...sigh.
sooo I just had 5 crashes in about 10 minutes, always trying to do the same thing.
blue path appeard on my map, "annomaly detected", I gotta pass through 3 systems to reach it, I have the fuel and everything but can only jump 1 system at a time. Crashed the 5 times I tried to go through the 2nd out of 3 systems. seems to be "golden path" too.... Oh well Ill retry tomorrow...
not sure how that game passed through cert.
edit : on the other side, scored a pretty nice multitool made of flesh, theeth and crystals... lol
This game took heavy menu design decisions from Destiny. Damn lol
I'm enjoying the game, but still trying to figure out how to get a Warp Drive. The cluster I'm in only has 4 planets and I've been to all of them many times now. Can't seem to get out haha
Welp! Its past 8:00 and Amazon hasn't delivered the game yet. I probably won't get it until later this week. I'm fucking pissed. I took the next couple days off to play, now I'll likely only get to play it for half a day before having to return to work -_-
I was hoping I would get lucky and avoid the crashes. Oh well, hopefully it gets fixed soon. Game is decent so far although the FOV sucks and the inventory management is very tedious.
Amazon/ UPS took its time, delivering my LE at 7:30pm, but after 3 hours of play I know where I'm at with NMS.
I started on a POS world, desert like with high level of radiations and agressive fauna. Scarce deserted shelters, radioactive red dust blown by tne wind seemingly droppng my survivability more often than not...
And I LOVED every second of it.
Giant Alien-like rock formations looming over me, caves tempting me to go explore but having to pace my shield and survivability... Really weird flora and fauna (seeing a beast chasing a smaller one, and also realizing that some beasts are territorial and will only chase you if you are near certain things or damaging certain things is really cool).
There is always another icon indicating a possible point of interest... I could have stayed on that hell-hole for another 2 weeks and barely make a dent.
Then I decided it was time to go ... And Man, it only even got better from there.
Everything was pretty much exactly as I hoped and then some. Only slight critique: at times the generated scenery can seem low quality, specially when compared to the hand designed outposts and space stations, but when fauna and flora are denser, you would not notice.
Amazing game... And looking forward to spending unkempt more hours in it.
Thank you for the memories Hello Games, and I'm only starting!
Been playing six hours. Visited about 4 or 5 planets. Met aliens and stuff.
Still got my starter ship and a big lack of inventory space though. What's the best way to get easy inventory upgrades? It's becoming quite the issue since I like to have stacks of every resource which isn't working out right now.
That's amazing. I wish I had an atlaspass(Then again, I've been really spending time on each planet instead of progressing the narrative...probably a mistake >_>
Running out of reasons to mine. Basically all I need are things for health/shields and warp drive fuel. Sometimes to repair damage from pirates, but otherwise I'll hit the planets for the soul purpose of doing a singular thing.
I think all those unique items are meant to be sold, I've been seeling all these one of a kind items and never encountered a reason to use them so far.
