And Piston, I just honestly don't think that a guy walking over to you talking shit can be construed as being "threatening" when Artest started winding up for his first punch before the guy got within 6 feet of him.

Dude came up like he was going to fight. Did a little hop like he was about to put his dukes up, but probably realize who he was stepping to at the last second, but by then it was too late. Some other guy jumped into it and bum rushed Artest and slipped- falling forward - Artest then pushed off and walked away. At the same time a coach (Mike Brown?) comes from behind Artest and takes a shot at the dude that slipped while he's on the ground. He is then pulled away by security (red shirt) and that’s when you see O'Neal coming from the right screen and K.O'ing that same dude as he's getting up. It was all within seconds, so O'Neal probably only saw his teammate getting rushed by these guys and then reacted.

If you have NBATV, watch it on Thanksgiving Day. 24 hours of Jordan/'Nique.

I honestly did not see any of that-- all I saw was the guy walking towards Artest (and not even directly towards him, but sorta on the side of him) and talking shit. I didn't see a clenched fist or a little hop or anything. If he did all that, then that changes things.

I wish I had all those clips on tape so I could check out all the details. :D

Oh, and I doubt the guy was intimidated by Ron, since he took 2 hits from Artest and didn't even flinch-- the guy just kept coming. :lol

goddamit, Griese!
:lol :lol the best part is it's like the guy doesn't realize artest is coming after him until he's about a foot away :lol

And the fucker in blue was the one who actually threw the beer at Artest, right? He just throws Ron right into the other guy. What a pussy. :lol

Looks like the Rockets are letting the Clippers back into this thing. How embarassing would it be to lose 3 in a row to the Hawks, Knicks and Clips? :lol

After seeing the Artest on-the-court punch of the fan again, I can see that the guy came at him menacingly, and was pretty obviously looking for a fight despite not throwing the first punch. That's why they have to investigate these things thoroughly-- because there's a lot of stuff you don't see the first couple of times.

O'Neal was still out of line imo, as was Artest for going into the stands in the first place, as well as Jackson, of course.

So now pending what is likely to be a lengthy suspension, Artest will have all the time he wants to work on his music career :lol

Funny how that whole thing worked out for him.

Artest should be banned from basketball forever.

For defending himself from a bunch of jackass fans? Please.

Wallace is the one that should get the most punishment,he completely overreacted over a foul that wasn't even that hard.

Rockets lose 3 str8 to the Hawks, Knicks and Clippers? 0 fastbreak pts this game. Gundyball sure is fun :lol

Tmac ties it to hopefully force OT!! :D

Rockets rely too much on half court sets. Why is Van Gumby so damn stubborn with this play style? When you have Tmac on your team you should fastbreak, whenever the oppportunity presents itself.

after watching much of the footage repeatedly, i don't see how wallace or o'neal can get more than 5 games really, they didn't really do all that much... but jackson and artest man... oh boy...

ARTEST WAS HOLDIN IT DOWN!!!

my mama told me dont mess with them boys from queensbridge!!!

:lol :lol :lol

Damn! I have Jermain Oneal and Ron Artest in my Fantasy NBA Team.

Funniest angle I have heard on this issue yet.

"For God sakes won't someone think of the Fantasy Owners!"

The fans had no right to throw the stuff and should be punished properly i.e. season tickets permanently revoked and given fines and time.

The guys who walked onto the court entered at their own risk.

But after saying that Artest and Jackson had no business going into stands. Yeah I know your manhood is being tested and all but the unbreakable cardinal rule is you don't go into the stands. It can't be argued or else things like this continue to happen. Both Artest and Jackson should be suspended for the rest of the year and have assault charges filed against them as well as the fans. O'neal should get about 10 games and assault charges as well.

I don't understand how a fight like this takes place at a sporting event and police don't charge both fans and players. This definately stepped over the line of allowable violence without police interaction afterward.

Examples need to be made of the players, the fans and the organizations or else this will happen again. It was hooliganism.

Seriously.

I think they should at least give us another spot on our team.

Andreiy Kirilenko is incredible, he has like 8 blocks, gets off the floor real fast.

wow, so according to official rules, pretty much everyone on both team should get at least a 1 game mandatory suspension for leaving the bench... that would be a funny sight...

Watched the footage again and realized that O'Neal and the fan he punched are lucky O'Neal slipped as he threw the punch or that fan would be in critical condition or dead.

Grant Hill with another great game...28 pts, 7 reb, 6 ast and 1 stl.

David Harrison filled in nicely for O'Neal (19 pts, 8 reb) and Fred Jones played great (31 pts, 5 reb, 2 ast, 2 stl, 2 blk), but it wasn't enough for Indiana.

Man, you gotta love Grant Hill. Let's all hope he doesn't get injured again and can keep playing at this level. What a success story that'll be (and is). The guy had a legitimate chance at being one of the top 10-15 players in history, and it was ruined by injuries. It's really great that he kept at rehab and is now back playing.

Kirilenko is a monster: 11 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 7 blocks. Dude's averaging 4.9 blocks/game.

Everyone but Tracy McGrady and myself are loving what Grant is doing right now :lol :(

He's so dishonest, what a punk. He gives everyone this "Im so nice" face, but he's really just a vindictive punk! I officially lay the blame of the 2003-2004 Orlando Magic season on Grant Hill!

I love David Stern's astonishment. He makes the league more and more like Professional Wrestling each year and then acts surprised by a fight and chairs being thrown. If he puts all the blame on players and ignores the fan issue of this then its destined to repeat. They need to get rid of those courtside seats and have better security, and cut off beer sales earlier. Of course those things = big money, so I doubt they happen.

So... am I the only one thinking EA should take advantage and make a Shaq-Fu 2: Wrath of the Pacer?
