Fastest buy ever since i started the stream reveal. I love this game ever since it came out back in the day. I played it for two weeks straight, from morning till evening. I was 21 years old. This game carries my Bethesda fanboyness.

It feels and looks like the game i remembered. Very easy to play. Love it. So relaxing to play.

Been stuck on char creation for ten minutes. Finally decided on a Dunmer! Will probably make him a spellsword, most of the times that's how I play TES games.

Steam version ran great for me (QHD - RTX 3080, 5800x3d) until I got out of the sewers. Then it was choppy and chuggy for a good long while. I'm hoping that's not going to be the case the whole time.

I got up to the town with the first Oblivion gate and had to break for work. Overall it seems great. I just hope the performance isn't as bad as the impression I got there at the end of my session.

won't be able to play tonight, but was leveling & enemy scaling totally fixed?

in the past, you'd want to level skills in a counter intuitive way to min/max. focusing on your most desired skills could actually make you weaker in the long run.

how much have they changed? do I need to plan out my build in advance or can I just end up leveling whatever I feel like with no fear of creating scaling issues?

A few hours under my belt, and just closed the first gate. It's nice to be back, and even though it looks nicer, everything is so familiar. I've gone with an Elven agent, and it's just like I remember Skyrim played with an archer.

The one thing that irks me is the hitching whenever the game auto saves. It spoils an otherwise smooth experience.

On Pro in performance mode btw.
Can auto save be disabled?

All right I caved and picked it up on base PS5.

My download will be done in a few minutes.

I will report back later with performance, if anybody has any questions about base PS5, ask and I will try my best to answer them because I've been frustrated for the past couple hours not finding answers to things I'm curious about.

If they announce a physical version later today I'm gonna hate myself though.

Wait. Dumb question but I thought the reason Bethesda never moved on from the creation engine is because the game logic was too complex.

If they can port Oblivion to UE5...does that mean they could do it for Morrowind as well?

I keep reading mixed impressions on how it runs on PS5 Pro - some say it runs amazing, others say it runs like shit with stutters all the time.

Which one is it?

Speed went from getting 5-6 megabytes a second to.. 1-2 megabytes a second downstream. Guess pipes got clogged, subsequently pretty much all my free time today is going to downloading. To top it off, my home network just died on me at 50% - so now I'm hotspotting for a bit until that fixes, but it's even slower. My luck for this is a little bad so far. Tomorrow is much busier for me :messenger_sad_relieved:

They sure put a lot of effort on that Help section in the menu, perfect for newcomers.

I'm not joking: I think Bethesda should keep the "Gamebryo for logic + UE 5 for graphics" combo for their next game.

It's the best of both worlds. And if Virtuos with a limited budget was capable of going this far with the graphic updates, Bethesda should be more than capable of delivering even better results.

Looks gorgeous while keeping all the systems that are important for a Bethesda game

Everyone was joking about how terrible this game would perform with both engines at the same time, but I bit my tongue.

Anyone know how it plays on base ps5?
A few dips in the framerate in the city but nothing too bad. Aside from that solid 60 fps.

Finished my first 2,5 hours with the game. Now in the market district. All the memories. Gonna take me a while to get out of here because I wanna speak to everybody.

Game's flawless so far. Can't believe I'm playing this. Will be a though battle for any other game to beat this for me this year.

Played the tutorial on the PS5 and it's absolutely stunning. Just waiting for the last few GB of the main game to finish downloading before I can continue. Looking and feeling super good currently but the character is a little floaty.

Anyone else experiencimg terrible ghosting on PC? Any clue on how to fix it? Looks like shit. :goog_relieved:

Is it me or did they get rid of the map you can access when inside the caves and mini dungeons? I just completed a fort and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to look at that 2nd map screen.

Game has some stuttering on PC sadly, but everything maxed with dlss and framegen and it runs over 100 fps and looks really great. Definitely gonna play this after expedition

I am worlds lamest RPG player

Skyrim
Dark Souls
Anything, I am just a sword and shield guy. Basically it.

I sill remember reading the Morrowind introduction:

The essence of any Elder Scrolls role-playing game has always been simple: let you do what you want, and make sure you have fun doing it. Huge, detailed, and open-endedare words that frequently come up when talking about ARENA, DAGGERFALL, and now MORROWIND. We don't believe a good role-playing game should restrict you from making choices, even if they're bad ones. Go ahead and play a wizard that wears heavy armor. You can do it, but remember that it's another skill to learn and might take time away from your magical studies. One of the first questions people usually ask us is, "What do I do in this game?" The answer we give is inevitably "Well, what do you want to do?" Do you want to be a noble knight or a treacherous swine? Do you want people to like you? Do you want people to loathe and fear you? Do you prefer casting spells, wielding swords, or both? Want to plunder dungeons and tombs? Rise to head of a guild? Gather information from everyone about everything? Whatever your interests, there's plenty for you to do .One minute you may be gazing up at the moons and stars over the plains or out for a swim in the Sea of Ghosts, and running for your life from a cliff racer or slaughterfish then ext. Any place in MORROWIND can quickly turn deadly. Vvardenfell, the setting for MORROWIND, is a culturally and geographically diverse place, dominated by the volcanic Red Mountain and surrounding wastelands. You'll find the island's population in a variety of different settlements, including small fishing villages with stick huts, strange towns where houses that look like large bug shells are used for housing, dwellings made of giant mushrooms grown by mages, and the majestic ancient city of Vivec. Everywhere you go you will find an assortment of do-gooders, scoundrels, eccentrics, and ordinary people just trying to make their way in the world. How you choose to interact with them is entirely up to you, and as a result you will find your gameplay experience may be completely different from anyone else's. Trust whom you will, dispatch whomever you want, but be prepared for the consequences.MORROWIND is filled with things for you to do…hundreds and hundreds of things. Duringyour efforts to complete the main quest or rise to power in a faction, don't forget toleave the beaten path now and then to see what's over the next ridge. Or, talk to peopleyou meet to see what problems or assistance they may reveal to you. It is in thesemoments, and thousands of others like them, that you will forget the real world —sometimes for much longer than you intended—and lose yourself in ours. Perhaps it'll be spent searching for a lost artifact that is rumored to be hidden in a tomb. Maybe you'll choose a side in a war between rival guilds. No matter what your preference, there's no right or wrong way to play MORROWIND.– The MORROWIND Team
