Oblivion Remastered |OT| Kvatching up with an old hero

It is currently nr1 top seller on steam https://store.steampowered.com/search/?filter=topsellers

One of many comments that I can relate to:

With over 107k players on steam currently
But a Shadowdrop wont be enough for good sales! It needs months of marketing!? Dont yiu understand?

It is play anywhere title so if you got gamepass or buy on Xbox or windows store you will get xbox and pc versions for one price. Also, it is cloud game, so if you want to play sooner/while your game is downloading you can use xcloud. All of the above work with shared cloud saves so progres carries over from pc to Xbox and xcloud and other way around.
And, even better, it's on PS5 Pro.

Found 2006 shots of my oblivion character haha.
I remember I found some way to take shots like this. You could pause, open the inventory, then hit tilde or something and it would hide the inventory ui, making these 80s style pics :P

I love how easy they made it to assign quicksave and quickload. Always loved that on PC and hated that consoles don't have it. Such a bliss now. Put it on the d-pad up and down.

Is

this your first time playing? I think I know what you ran into, and it's not a glitch.

Ah....you know what? I was thinking after I posted that I seemed to recall something like this, but wasn't sure. I just googled it and yeah, this is what you are thinking.

Between this and KCD2, amazing year so far for medieval RPG lovers.

Menu screen alone is the most kino shit.

YOU CAN TURN SCREEN SPACE REFLECTIONS OFF!!! ON CONSOLE!

I REPEAT! YOU CAN TURN SCREEN SPACE REFLECTIONS OFF ON CONSOLE!

holy shit! thank you Virtuos!
this is the first game that I know off where you can have Lumen reflections without the screen space layer on top!
in every other game I ever played you would nees to go into the engine ini file and add r.Lumen.Reflections.ScreenTraces=0 to achive this, as even if you turn ssr off, the lumen settings usually overwrite it and reactivate ssr.

Oh my god.

Umbra is super fucking OP in this !!

I am barely scratching her after minute(s) of stabbing.
lol you are a Oblivion veteran arent you!. First thing i would always do when starting a new game was go straight for Umbra to get the Umbra sword and armour.

And yeah she's tough at the start, always best to take some potions with you. She can be beat though, even with starting stats.

The difficulty leap from Adept to Expert is way too high IMO. Adept is ridiculously easy and Expert turns every enemy into a major damage sponge. Was it like that in the original? I honestly can't remember.

Console wars in your blood, brother. You can play fun slice of life games on GamePass TM to relax 😌

I purchased the game from Fanatical™ at 17% off so that I can play on Steam™ using my Nvidia™ GPU and AMD™ processor.

That way I can take advantage of playing a single copy across multiple PC's™ and my Steam Deck™. It also grants me the option to also play via GeForce™ Now™ on the Cloud™.

All of the above work with shared cloud saves so progres carries over from PC™ to PC™ to Steam Deck™ and GeForce™ Now™ and other way around.

That's every Bethesfa game at least since Oblivion, yeah.

Series X - Performance Mode.

First hour impressions:

Pro:
- Seems to run pretty well, or at least the VRR is doing a good job masking drops in the open world.
- Load times are OK to fast-ish, not as fast as running the X360 version over SSD but ya know.
- The compass and map are a lot more easier to use and navigate

Cons:
- SSR used here are butt fucking ugly, thank GOD there is an option to turn them off.
- Texture streaming noticeable when entering an area for a second or so after loading
- Notable hitch every time the autosave message pops up.

Mental checklist of things to do:
- Umbra (done)
- Skeleton Key (need to be LV10 to start that quest, fuck lockpicks)
- Arena
- Kill adoring fan.

Just watched the trailer, goddamn that looks good! If next game looks that good or better i'm happy. Pretty cool to see it look like this natively on console so many yers later :)

Played it many times and that intro still gives me goosebumps when the music droos lmao.

A few hours under my belt, and just closed the first gate. It's nice to be back, and even though it looks nicer, everything is so familiar. I've gone with an Elven agent, and it's just like I remember Skyrim played with an archer.

The one thing that irks me is the hitching whenever the game auto saves. It spoils an otherwise smooth experience.

On Pro in performance mode btw.

When I leveled up to level 2, I got 12 points to put into my stats. Is it still all bass ackwards where using your major skills too much gives you fewer points to work with upon leveling up?

GOTY contender not joking.

Its already mine. The only thing that could possibly dethrone it would be either MindsEye, Mafia or GTA6.

Also I dunno who was talking about nerfing or getting rid of skills but I just spent 10 minutes hopping around the grassland to build up Athletics just like the good ol days.

Anyone know what version of DLSS this uses? Wondering if I need to use DLSS swapper for this one and if its worth it?
