Who watching the boxing? Britains Amir Khan (only 17 years) is outclassing everyone!

He beat the shit out of the European Champion today (27 yrs old)

I smell another Gold for UK :p

Whoa, what the hell happened there? Why did China lose its Ping Pong medals all of a sudden?

Edit: Wait, I see, they counted the doubles medals twice. Funny how Yahoo, BBC, and NBC made the same mistake and changed it at the same time.

100m Butterfly Final:
Fuck, Phelps just nudged out Crocker to score his fifth gold of the Games -- a sixth should be a shoo-in with the 4x100 medley to come. Despite me not liking the guy (I'm Aussie), he's easily the Swimmer of the Meet.

PS: Track cycling rocks! :)

You don't know the half of it. Unfortunately, it gets worse. Especially what they've been saying. Funny thing, heres a quote from the Korean boys...

Talk about crapping on your words and being a total bitch in the end.

NO NO NO, She didn't win the all around. It was the beam finals. They blatantly ripped off the chinese gymnast because they wanted Gogean to win. Even though the chinese gymnast had the best routine hands down.

Khorkina won the all around in 97.
lol. I don't know why I thought it was the all-around. And I don't know why I said 2001, it doesn't seem like it was 7 years ago, but it was.

As for Costas, his interview with Carly Patterson was a little strange. Partly because she was a little reserved, but also his questions. Asking her to go through her floor exercise routine with him. I mean, what is she supposed to say... "Yay! I nailed that landing!" I'm sure she can only remember so much because of nerves, etc. Really, most sports interviews are boring. The same type questions are asked over and over and you never really learn anything new or anything about the athlete.

I only saw her briefly on TV today, but Rebecca Giddens of kayaking might be a candidate for cutest athlete.

Well, she was like 50 feet from the camera. She had nice breasts, so maybe that influenced me somewhat. ;) Still, she doesn't look too bad. Maybe not the cutest athlete, but I've seen a lot worse at these Olympics.

I've got no love for the US team, but that little blond Lithuanian is one flopping-ass bitch, that touch foul was a fucking ridiculous call.

What sad pieces of (frig I don't wanna risk a ban again) but maaaan, WHERE IS KOBE?! WHERE IS TMAC?! WHERE'S SHAQ? WHERE'S GARNETT????!!! WHERE'S CARTER?!!!!! WHERE'S RIP HAMILTON?!!!! ahhhh fuK.

Hail to the KING baby
None of this really means shit anyway at this point until they choke when it really counts (or against Angola); it's not like beating the US is anything special at all anymore.

All this team needs is Kobe or Tmac and they don't lose ANY games. How the hell do you assemble an olympic team without perimeter threats? >_<

WHOO HOO!! Suck it down David Stern.

Sad that I'm rooting against my own country, but in this case the system deserves it.

We only need Rip Hamilton, not even a TMAC or Kobe is needed after we get Rip. Rip is our much needed shooter right there. Our best shooter, Jefferson, couldn't even hit a simple freethrow. FUCK.

US needs to start flopping like soccer players some more too, that seemed to be quite effective for Lithuania.

Alright, dude :)

Still, it's pretty disappointing though. If only they had some perimeter threats :(

If your man hadn't gone fucking around, we wouldn't be in this mess this summer >:[

Not so bad on our part.

Maan, how low our expectations got right after the US lost in the World Champsionships.

What system? You can't run college players(especially now) against pros that are on the international scene during the olympics.

Hell, at least they shot a few three's today...even going down the stretch. They showed up and played this game, so I don't think it's a big deal. The loss to PR was disgraceful because they simply didn't show up (or if they did, they were completely unprepared).

Last year's team still wipes the floor with everyone...damn shame we didn't get to see it. I might talk about that team in depth a little later (if I can get my PC issues fixed), as people are a little too quick to say that US basketball is now shit as a result of 2002 and 2004. A year ago, most everyone was saying that things were back to normal (and then some). Amazing how quickly people have forgotten. Then again, you can't sell papers or get noticed being rational...extremist hyperbole is what it's all about these days.
