Yah, they don't wanna embarass the org. You know management chose the Suns game thinking they'd blow this year :lol

Kobe is abusing Joe Johnson....

3-7 for 10 points at the half is "abuse"? That's below his average. He had a couple of nice moves though, if that's what you mean...

Caron Butler has been playing with a lot of confidence; I can't believe that LA's been able to largely contain Phoenix's running game, given their general lack of defensive cohesion.

That's exactly what I mean. He has just 10 pts for goodness sake :lol

Well, Amare's played like 5 minutes. They've played the Suns tough all year though and had a chance to win both games Kobe played in. Suns play no D and Lakers can shoot the 3 as well...

Yeah, but when someone says that a player is "abusing" his defender, it usually means a 20+ point half, especially when said player averages 28 per game. :p

Well, Amare's played like 5 minutes.

Why? I haven't really been watching, since I've been studying-- I just keep glancing up every so often with the volume off. Foul trouble?

Fucking 'A... are all the starters and key reserves for Seattle injured? The last 15 or so games, they've been without Daniels, Lewis, Radmanovic and Forston. Hopefully, they'll be ready come playoff time.

Pistons came back and stole the game they owned to begin with.

woah woah woah now....the game was close all the way through. IIRC, the largest lead was only 6 or 8 for the Pistons. It was close the whole game. We just choked it away in OT

Man that Lakers reunion thing was awesome.

I always remember defending Magic Johnson to death when I used to have arguments with other people over the whole Larry Bird vs. Magic arguments.

Also R.I.P. Chick Hern. =(

Sorry, but give me Bird any day over Magic. :D (yes, I'm serious)

It's not a huge advantage, but if Bird was 100%, Magic was about 95%. Bird was ice. A bad, bad man. :p

Yeah but now that I look back on it I really miss those days of basketball.

1981-1998 = Golden Age of Basketball

now you're just being a bitch.

Oh come on now. :D Even the staunchest Magic fan will, AT BEST, say that if Magic was 100%, Bird was 95%. So I've just reversed it. :p

Magic was a better passer (though even that's debatable if you look past the #'s and look at skill in passing), Bird was the far superior offensive player. Both were liabilities on defense but were competent team defenders. Bird had a slight edge on the glass and was also (imo) much more clutch (one of the top 4 clutch players in history). Like I said, if Bird is 100%, Magic is 95%. :)

I just wanted to say that I'm extremely proud of what the Spurs did this weekend. It was really a test of character for the team and they passed with flying colors.

Manu scoring 40
Big Shot Rob and Big Block Rob make an appearance in the same game
Tony logging 99 minutes in two consecutive games and still delivering two All-Star performances
Nazr showing signs of life and rebounding like a beast
Winning without Tim, Rasho, Manu and Devin

Inspiring couple of wins that give us a chance to still fight for that #1 seed. Too bad tonight the Suns had to play against such trash. Otherwise, we might have been standing at the top once again.

Jordan played before 1990, you know. ;)

And why am I annoying? Because I don't think Magic is better than Bird? That's just my opinion. :) :p

Jordan didn't win before 1991 though, that is pretty much when the NBA went to hell for 6 of the next 8 years. I mean the quality of teams got so low that even the Jazz were contending for titles. The Jazz! They were perennial first round exits for the first 50 years of the Stockton/Malone era. The league just went to hell once Magic got HIV quality wise.

And you are annoying because of your opinions. Konex has his opinions too which are usually total garbage and doom my franchise to being shitty. You are also annoying because of your semi-homosexual fascination with Kobe. You seem to have some program that alerts you anytime Konex makes some ridiculous assertion about Kobe (who I suggest we trade if we don't make the playoffs next year).

I agree. As does the rest of the forum, believe it or not. We are the silent majority.

I like everyone in the NBA thread Lok, even Konex (the guy who is trying to kill my franchise). This isn't like your and Konex's man love for Kobe, but there is not total hatred for you yet. :D This place has the best sports discussions I have ever seen on the internet.

Just don't tell me you appreciate the way Tom Brady plays and you will be OK in my book.

Spurs clinch their "first ever" Southwest Division title. Manu led the way once again. And Tim might play a few minutes on Wednesday at Utah.

Good times ahead. :)

woo celtics!! guaranteed a winning record this year, and 3 games up on philly with 5 left!

:(

I love how the 2 most important shots in the game were taken by fucking MARK JACKSON!Not like we had Iverson,Korver, or Webber out there.....*head explodes*

We'll be lucky to hang on to the 8th spot and what does it matter, the Heat will stomp a mudhole in our ass :(

goddamit, Griese!
if we somehow win this without 2 starters(Curry, Deng) and our 2 best bench players(Chandler, Nocioni) it will be an act of god.

I still can't believe Noch got suspended. Total fucking BS.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- According to Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, the team's acquisitions of Latrell Sprewell and Sam Cassell two summers ago were a ``failed experiment.''

Before Minnesota's fifth-to-last game in a terribly disappointing season, Cassell figured his time with the Timberwolves was nearing an end.

``He told me right there he don't want me back,'' Cassell said Wednesday when told of Taylor's critical comments. ``You experiment with something, and it doesn't work. Would you try it again?''

For a story published in Wednesday's editions of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Taylor said he regretted trading for Sprewell and Cassell -- despite significant contributions from the two veterans that led to a run to the Western Conference finals last season.

``This was an expensive financial decision; certainly, financialwise, it was a poor decision on our part,'' Taylor said. ``Overall, it was just a failed experiment.''
