Official Fable II Thread

I have spare Mungo Trading books (gamer tag nli10) but no puny carrots (as I raid the health food all the time they mostly sell 5* stuff now!) or marriage survival book. Ed: found the Mungo when looking for books in my owned houses with 4* and 5* shelves.

Any other fallout players keep pressing B to get into their pip boy and scaring the shit out of the villagers with spells?

Oh and to the colour-blind person above the final switch is SPELL. Stand nearer to that switch than the others for best results.

I onyl get slowdown when I enable live orbs. Turning that off makes the game run like a dream. That said I'm glad this was my first 360 game, after F3 and TooHuman and others the game feels very limited in it's play style. Still fun tho!

DLC was prob 3 hours here and not got all the books and 2 parcels left to unwrap. Can you see somewhere which book you are missing?

You can check which books you have under books in items(they are numbered).

If you still need puny carrots try Bloodstone I found mine there(If you still can't get them add me GT:AJ4seven and Ill get some more.(wouldn't mind one of those
Mungo's Trading if you still have any)

Added you. Don't have any more Mungo books but I can throw in a ton of gold.

Had fun with the game last night. Went through the swamps to Bloodstone and then did one of the quests there. Magic is starting to take over. Blasting off a Level 2 Time Stop, then a Level 3 Raise Dead, and then a Level 4 Inferno clears everything. I'm building up huge magic XP and my other weapons aren't getting too much work.

Again I ask, do we have any control over the save slots? I want a back up save what with all the game ending glitches I'm hearing about.

Fuck I finally hit a shitty bug after like almost 40 hours of play.

I started to do the captain dread's treasure hunt but I could not find all of the treasures. I'm guessing cos my dog was dead at the time. So I stopped doing that quest for a while. I finished the knothole quests and then went with my dog on the ship to go back to lion's head island and the game freezes while it's loading. It sucks because now I cant finish that quest. I have no space on my hdd to install the game so this fucking sucks badly. I am also getting audio glitches while i'm in bloodstone sometimes, after the patch.

On a lighter note I did the max and w/e his brother's name is quest
after the endgame. Well my wife lived in bloodstone at reaver's place and the banshee ended up killing her, lol. I was kind of happy cos my daugher was the most annoying person in the game so far. I'd buy her her favorite gifts and entertain her and the next time I came back she was already unhappy. My wife would be like 'your daughter is always sad'. So I was happy they died, and now I've got reaver's place rented out.

my friend just hit a bug as well.
after he donated to the temple of light, the game crashes whenever he tries to go to westcliff. so now he cant go to the ship to move the story along.

Found the books details - they are listed in the description for the area like gargoyles and keys. Only got 8/10 but have a list of locations off a site so I can find the two another day.

Finished Gargoyles tonight with a +1 I met while trading for the boxes, I think that shop is designed to get us chatting to people in the areas that people without the pay DLC can get to as advertising! Shame the trading system is terrible and a bit random.

Maxed all my abilities too but I think I need to get my puppy to backflip to unlock the achievement. And maybe get the evil expressions - as advised I'm going down the slum landlord route for that.

Then I have to hunt the keys while still trying for that max speed chain attack that seems impossible - I get lots of blue flashes in a row but no points. Glitch?

I'm getting closer to max points but I'm not sure I can be bothered to do the main quest again just for the extra 2 endings (from 1 careful save). Even as my evil temptress!

Seem to have run into my first glitch. :(

Got the latest patch and Knothole Island so all up to date there, but with the Blind Date quest after I have arranged a date for Rupert in Bowerstone I head back to Brightwood to inform Rupert/Giles and they cannot be found. At the same time there is no golden trail showing to tell me where to find them.

Anyone else experienced this and know how to fix it?

EDIT: Quest isn't broken (well not fully) it is just that Rupert/Giles were up in the farmhouse instead of outside, where I spoke to them previously. Still doesn't explain why there was no golden trail though.

Why are there two Knothole Island entries for download? Both 531.75 MBs, but one labeled as (Free) and the other as (Premium)...

The free one makes it so you can play co-op with someone who has the premium when you don't.

Yeah... : /

not worth the money IMO. There really is very little to do. you run through 3 shines. not even hard or long dungeons. Just a few fights and your at the end of each.

The armor is cool though. and few more shops and homes to buy. thats it.

That's... strange.
Yeah, that's probably why they didn't even attempt to label it correctly on the Marketplace.

A while ago people were sharing the hero dolls for the achievement. Does anyone have 'em? I have a Reaver Doll only. GT = Total Sacrifice

Is it just me, or did the patch completely destroy the framerate? I have constant lag and framerate drops as soon as I visit bigger places (Bowerstone Market, Bloodstone...) where a lot is going on. It never lagged as much as it is since the patch.

Also, theres some serious clipping going on when I walk around with the Knight Armour.

My framerate is flummoxed too, I just thought that's how the game was though. Should I nuke my cache and play the game without the patch?

Are you playing installed on the hard drive, or off the disc?

Just put my disc in and warped to Bloodstone and it's the same way for me. But I can't remember if it was always like this? It's not constant, though; every 15 or 20 seconds or so, the framerate will go to crap for a few seconds, and then pick back up.

I'm playing off the disc (which is terribly loud).

Knothole Island book 2, where the hell is it?

help plz
If it's the one I'm thinking of it's in the the ice shrine. There's a portion inside where you're crossing an ice bridge at an incline, maybe with lightning gargoyles or something. On either side of the bridge before you cross, there are breakable icicles pointing upwards. Break the icicles to the right and there should a be a platform you can jump down on to. Follow the path and it should lead you to the book.

It was never like that for me, just slowdown during charged spells.

Nothing to do with the patch, I have the same problem.

I think that's a glitch... something probably provoked it....

I tried to clear cache, cache + RAM, uninstall & reinstall, playing from disc... nothing works.

I'm not having any of these issues, and I played for 4 hours this afternoon. For reference, I'm using a brand new Jasper 360, installed to the hard drive.

hahahahaha. Love this game. Want more Chesty.

I have the Limited Edition of Fable II sitting on my desk. Should I open it and keep it ? what does the limited edition come with that makes it limited. I really loved the cover art its easily the best art after BioShock and MGS4.

I have friends who didn't have the problem either, but now that I think about it, they played it on SDTV.

I still have one friend that I know he played it on HDTV, I have to ask him. I will try to play on 480p too.

Well, have the game since it was released..and no problems..before or after the NXE..
No problems installed or not installed (better installed . :p, less noise ..grass and things in the map seem to load faster)..and no problems before or after the patch; playing at around 720p, around because is 1280 x 768)

Been playing on an Elite I have since June 2008..

Regarding Knothole Island ..loved it. (as I did the entire game)..got the 3 achievements, and unlike it was said ealrier; didn't finished it in under 20 minutes.. :p ..

Finished the new DLC in three hours. Not worth 800 points imo, but I did like the environmental effects. Too bad they don't extend to the entire world. Would be fun to see the other locations covered with snow or flooded.

I played for four hours yesterday, and I still haven't finished the DLC. You unlocked all the boxes and everything? You guys need to learn to stop and smell the digital roses.

Yeah..I spent 4+ hours just looking or the items to trade in the mystery box-thing..heck, 2 hours mostly for two Puny Carrots... :lol

Yes. :/ It's basically just three easy dungeons, after all. I already had all the items needed to unlock things from wandering around the main world. Money isn't a problem because I own most stores in most of the towns.

Give the point level required to purchase this DLC, I was hoping we'd see one of the three companions from the main quest or a new enemy type. I think 400-500 points would have been a more appropriate price.

You're a pack rat, then? Can you spare a puny carrot? :lol

Like I said before, the items, weapons and armor was worth $5, the three dungeons are worth $5. Put them together, and I feel like I got my money's worth.

Actually, I take all this back. The DLC lets you get your Dog back if you were an idiot like me and made the wrong choice during the main game. It's well worth the price. :)

hmm I just got my limited edition fable 2 code from microsoft in my email, wonder if its bound to my gamertag or if I should sell it.

I have spent more hours than I care to admit to trying to get the damn Regal Blue Dye. I keep resting and checking every store and traveling crap salesman I can find!

I have 1,000,000 gold for anyone that I spare one!!!! :lol

Fairfax Gardens. Sleep 24 hours, go to the gardens, check if there are Clothing salesman. If there are, and they don't have the dye, you need to sleep for 7 days now. I got it this way in about 30 minutes, sorry I don't have anymore to spare ;)

I've tried this. Problem is there are no Clothing salesman in the garden in my game. Just a Rifle, Food and Pistol salesman.

New ones should appear if you sleep for 24 hours. Repeat it a couple of times though (don't reload, just go back and sleep somewhere again)

I give it another shot thanks. If it doesn't work I'll bump the reward up to 2 million. :D

I don't think anyone would pay you more than $5 for it. All it nabs you is the Spartan armor, a weak energy sword, and access to a lame dungeon (with a lame legendary weapon). :/

... two (real) hours searching for puny carrots...
... sleep 24 hours, or then 7 days for blue dye...

Is this what the life of a hero is to be filled with in the end? Sorry, not for me.

I finished the main quest last night after completing all of the non-repatitive quests that were available to me. When all was said and done the game seemed light on content thus far. So now I'm wondering what else is worth the time.

1. Archeology Quests
I don't have my dog and so I can't continue those without buying the DLC. I've already done several of them. Is there a point where something else happens? If I do enough of them is there a final reward? Like that door opening at the Fairfax dig sight? Or do they go on and on just building up your Renown? For that matter is there an endgame for the Slave Rescue or Assassination quests? Or do they also simply go on and on?

2. Big Houses Quests
Brightwood Tower, Cemetary Mansion, and Fairfax Castle are all listed quests. It seems I have to buy the houses to start those quests? Are they true adventures or is the 'quest' simply buying the home?

The game has heart and soul, I like the artistic aspects of the game. Technically Lionhead needs to step up. Their character moves clumsily, there is too much lag with menus and with button prompts, and the framerate is less than ideal. Surprisingly the combat was quite good and that's what will keep me playing if there is more to do.

So can anyone give me some tips on what to do now, or is the best there is puny carrots and blue dye?

It's not bound to your gamertag, but it's worthless. You can get the LE code from Microsoft despite not having the LE.

hmm I don't know about the archeology quests, but I got my
dog back so I am doing them now.

As far as brightwood tower
is concerned i'm pretty sure you do have to own the property because that's how you are able to sleep in the bed to prompt the quest. The cemetary mansion I think you also have to own because then you get the key to the tomb you have to explore. Fairfax castle I'm sure you have to own (1 million gold) to access that quest dungeon. Those 3 missions are pretty cool so I think they're worth doing.

The regal dye and puny carrots I think only become available if you have a decent town economy. I had all my rent/store rates at like -60%. Now I went fully evil and corrupt just to mix things up a bit. I saved the temple of light so it's easy to get good points if I need to, donating 5000 gold gives like 75 good points. The corruption is easy to turn pure as long as your prices/rent is at a discount.

I'm disappointed I cant finish the captain dread quest because of a bug =(
