Ok folks I have some questions concerning Fable 2 as I've been wanting to buy it for several weeks now, but I have some details I need to know before deciding wether I'll buy it or not.
I have a problem to the right arm muscle and the right trigger does mess it quick so I was wondering;
1/ Can you remap the buttons? Southpaw, whatever?
2/ Are the triggers used a lot?
3/ Is the right trigger more used than the left one?
4/ Do you have to maintain the triggers pushed when you use them?
Thanks to anyone who will take the time to answer this
1. remap buttons I'm pretty sure not
2. triggers are not used much, left trigger sometimes to focus on an npc....later on when you upgrade your shooting skills it is held down to target individual body parts on a person. Hold left trigger is also used to auto-focus on a single target during combat. although you dont need it to attack
3. the left trigger is used more, i think the right is used in game to change the spell you have equipped...there's 5 levels of spells. you can have the same one in each slot though. B is the magic button. if you tap it once it will activate your 1st tier spell. you keep it held in to charge the spell meter and go to the next tier. I only use 2 spells, 1st tier i got raise dead. 2 tier i have inferno (fireball), 3rd tier I have inferno as well. 4th tier I have raise dead (when you charge it to the 4th tier the ghouls you raise last longer and are stronger...and there's 4 ghouls not just 2 as on tier 1. 5th tier I have inferno which produces a much stronger fireball although you have to hold it to charge it. You can continue to charge your spell even if you're being hit by enemies.
I use raise dead to be mainly a decoy while I charge inferno and/or shoot my pistol. the good thing is the shooting button is Y as opposed to right trigger like most games.
4. No unless you're targeting individual body parts though that is not necessary since melee (which is button X) and magic (button B) are the most effective ways to shoot. I just shoot with Y button (auto aim to nearest target) You can hold it down to aim manually with left analogue (once you get that ability)
so all and all dude (I know I'm bad at explaining stuff) you dont really use left or right trigger at all like in a lot of games. the main buttons are
X - draw melee weapon, hold to block, tap to do melee, hold and direction of enemy is charged melee attack
Y - pull out gun, shoot, hold to aim..and move targeting reticle with left analogue
B - magic button, hold to charge to 1 of 5 tiers of magic spells, tap to use tier 1 magic
A - holster gun, put away melee weapon, hold to run, in combat you use to roll (like in gears)
I tried =(
