Nope, unlike the liberals on the forum, being a moderate I can see who's truly winning in this debate.
Just a little advice, dude - if you're going to make statements like this, the liberals you mention aren't going to take you seriously unless you back up your statements.

Tell them why you think Bush is winning this debate.

To be fair, it is the last question of 3 debates, perhaps its better that its a light one

I disagree...genius question.

This is giving the public a chance to see the two candidates in a lighter mood. Bush didn't "win" in 2000 cause he debated well, it's because he was likable by a lot of "middle america".

A quote from another termulouse time nice one Kerry...its to bad some people will have no Idea what he just refered to and instead will be content with Bush's forest gump like one liners...sad.

This debate is another wash. Personally I think Kerry is more articulate and a better, more thoughtful leader. But most of the US isn't as enlghtened as me.

Well I suppose that's true, but I wouldn't ask it as the final question. Maybe second to last or something, but I think you ought to end on a high note and not a piece of fluff. You are right, it does serve a purpose, but I don't really like the placement of it.

It was useful to show a more personable side to the candidates. I agree with this and more to the point, it's the end of the debate. Time to wrap it up.

It kinda is the second to the last question because they each get their closing statements.

In anycase you could see where Bush took the charming queue and kerry started and made it semi-serious.

Why the hell can't someone use a Simpson's line in their closing arguments?

"The politics of failure have failed.... we must make them work again"

Was that Michael J. Fox? Holy shit, if only he would have run up and kissed Kerry. Then he would have completely won both the gay and terminally ill vote! :lol

I thought Kerry did worse than he's done in his last two debates. Bush did better than his first one again, but was still weak. I'd say the debates altogether are Kerry 3, Bush 0.

I agree. The funny thing is that Kerry did better in the first debate which should have been Bush's strength and Bush had his best showing on the last debate which should have been Kerry's strength.

I think they both did well on the personal questions but Kerry really won for me on all of the domestic issues. Bush dodged too many questions that are important to the middle class, which I am a part of.

I thought the moderator was biased against Bush...

... and then I realized that he was just asking about standard domestic issues.

After watching all 3 debates one thing that kind of irks me about W. is he couldn't answer the toughest questions. People complain about Kerry spouting off numbers but i'd rather hear numbers than either saying there is no problem or ignoring the subject.

Yeah, but closing statements are pretty much fluff too. Not in that they aren't serious but in that they don't really add anything. So I think asking a fluff question right before letting the candidates do their fluff piece is a bit, I don't know, lazy I guess.

Anyway, I'll say that this wasn't really a debate that will change too many people's minds. I think both men played very well to their base audience, and this debate was such that I think both sides can sufficiently claim victory. Personally, I think Kerry was more articulate and came off as more knowledgable on most (but not all) issues, but I think it wasn't to the point that you can really claim that he "won." I think most of the Bush supporters will largely be able to make the same case about Bush.

I think both sides will feel strengthened by this debate, and I think both sides are going to gain some voters, but I don't think this debate is going to decisively turn the election one way or the other.
