Michael could only manage less than one more assist per game than a man with AIDS?!?

And 13 more points, and 2 more steals, and one more block, and a 6% higher FG% for the series. That good enough? :D

PistonhondOWNED. ;)

is anyone else puzzled by Shinobi posting this pic, by the way?

Not if you've been paying close attention to Mister Shinobi....

<rubs chin> Hmmm....

;) :D

If you think you have it bad, just think what effect fatso Jordan will have on Loki.

Loki would turn into Chris Farley's Chicago Superfans character from an episode of SNL in 1997. He'll force himself to believe its still 1998 and Jordan just 3 days ago won his 6th title.

<Cashier> That'll be $69.67

<Loki> Ok, let me just get my check book. June 17th, 1998...

<Cashier> Sir, uh...its June 17th, 2010.

<Loki> Huh? What...*stroke*

Elliot's #32 will be retired tonight when the Spurs play the Jazz. Here's a very nice article conmemorating his career.

Buck Harvey: Inside of Elliott's jersey: A number of memories
Web Posted: 03/06/2005 12:00 AM CST
San Antonio Express-News

Coming up with 32 memories of Sean Elliott is easy, since 50 were needed last season for someone else.

1. Last to leave the locker room.

2. First with an opinion.

3. Standing in the back of a charter jet his rookie year, killing time on the long trip from Portland to San Antonio after a playoff loss, talking non-stop and looking absolutely collegiate and bright-eyed and innocent.

4. Coming off the floor against the Lakers a decade later, with kidneys secretly failing as he chased Kobe Bryant, quiet and looking absolutely drained.

5. The first game back after the transplant operation. Who thought Noel Elliott's kidney could dunk like that?

6. Taco Cabana spokesman.

7. Taco Cabana-linked nicknames. Early in his career, didn't Soft Taco fit?

8. Soft heart, too. When a San Antonio newspaper went under in the '90s during a Spurs road trip, only one player called the room of the newly unemployed beat reporter to offer his condolences.

9. Almost a Rocket? The failed exam was the first sign his kidneys worked in mysterious ways.

10. The side-spin rotation on his jumper. Had he cured that, he might have been more than merely the Spur with the most 3-pointers in franchise history.

11. At first, Larry Brown's punching bag.

12. After that, Larry Brown's disciple.

13. He basks in the victory parade in 1999 — and hours later, doctors consider putting him on dialysis.

14. Religiously loyal: Reverend Terry Cummings presides over his first wedding ceremony.

15. How much did he love driving his BMWs? He became the tallest human in history to attend the Bob Bondurant Racing School.

16. Writing a newspaper column during the playoffs, he had fun with the rather large posterior of a former college teammate, Tom Tolbert, who played for Golden State. And Tolbert didn't like it.

17. Among those who would not feel comfortable in the Sean Elliott Gymnasium in Tucson, Ariz.: John Lucas and Isiah Thomas.

18. Sports Illustrated called the Elliott-Dennis Rodman trade the best one of the 1993 off-season. But for the Pistons.

19. Too coachable? Ever generous, he once loaned money to one of his assistant coaches.

20. Thank goodness Malik's Philly Phamous wasn't around then to be linked to Elliott's business. The menu at Fullcourt Pets — mice, snakes, lizards — wouldn't work on a roll.

21. From the Detroit Free Press in the summer of 1994: "Bill Curley, drafted No. 22, is just what the Pistons need."

22. The long, last step he learned in the mid '90s, allowing him to get closer to the rim on drives, turned him into a finisher and an All-Star again.

23. Those missed free throws in Game 1 of the 1995 Western Conference finals? He made up for them a few years later.

24. Elliott, sincere and concerned about team chemistry, told coaches the rookie was taking too many shots. The staff assured him that, yes, they wanted Tim Duncan to shoot a lot. :lol

25. Draft day 1989. If the Clippers had picked Elliott with the second pick, even Noel couldn't have saved him from that sickness.

26. Not just gyms carry his name. Kevin O'Neill, former Raptors head coach who was an assistant at Arizona during Elliott's career there, named his son Sean in his honor.

27. Elliott never minded a prank. He would call up his accountant, disguise his voice and claim to be from the IRS. But when a radio station reported Elliott, having failed his physical in Houston, had AIDS, Elliott didn't laugh.

28. Selling his house to Rodman.

29. A year later, asked if he wanted to buy back the house, Elliott said: "Knowing Dennis, I have a feeling I probably don't want it back."

30. Working out for the Spurs last spring, when Devin Brown's ribs were bruised. Isn't that the sign of a man still in love with the game?

31. Two trades, two sore knees, one ring, one new kidney, one loud laugh.

And No. 32, at his zenith. Teetering with heels raised inches above the sideline, with various Blazers diving at him, with David Robinson the logical option underneath, Elliott retired perceptions and his jersey in one motion.

Congrats to Sean though. Rock on.

Sean Elliott absolutely rocked...and for far more then the shot against Portland. Very effective player, and seemingly an excellent guy.

Unhappy couple: The stories about Doug Christie and his wife never really get old.

On Thursday, Christie, unhappy with his reduced role since being traded from Sacramento to Orlando, pouted and called in sick to Thursday's practice.

But leave it to Jackie Christie to step in and make the situation much worse.

"Doug is distraught," Jackie told The Sacramento Bee. "He's still not over the trade, and it's not even the basketball part of it. ... We have a farewell video that the Kings gave us before we left, and I'll find him sitting there watching it, and he gets all choked up. I'll tell him, 'Doug, you have to stop.' "

Really, that reality show these two are planning can't come out soon enough.

:lol

PS: it seems like his season is over due to foot injury. The Kings made out like bandits on that deal :o

I was going to post this article. It truly is sad to read.

http://www.sacbee.com/content/sports/story/12376764p-13232754c.html

Before the couple reached the parking lot, arms still linked, expressions still grim, Jackie shared a story: At a recent birthday party for 4-year-old Doug Jr., one of his cousins gave him a Mike Bibby basketball card. Doug, Jr. stared at the gift, then turned to his parents. When are we moving back? When are we going home? "I told him that this is where his daddy works now," Jackie continued, "but he didn't understand. He said, 'I was born there. I like my friends there. I want to see Slamson again. When are we leaving?' That breaks your heart. But I'm just trying to stay positive for Doug."

I wonder if he will cry on the court when the Magic come to Arco Arena.

And the Kings with a big surprising win. Brian Skinner has been playing the best after the trade.

I don't understand the Jazz this year. How the hell can a team that loses to the hornets twice this year do so well against good teams like the spurs despite being so injury ridden. Yeesh. And Manu Ginobli is incredible. His offensive game is like Kirilenko's defensive game, just really chaotic and unpredictable but really helps the team out.

Manu puts the game away with 31 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

Tim's sprain is Grade 1, the least serious. He'll probably be day-to-day. Thank God.

:lol We always knew who the bitch was.

The Pacers are getting owned. Jermain was out after the incident and they didn't even play this bad. Is it the Lakers that are actually stepping up? :o

No, the Pacers just stink right now. When JO was suspended, Tinsley wasn't hurt. He is the catalyst of this team and they settle for too many jumpers when he's out...

Kobe on fire :o

Kobe's FG% is much higher when he doesn't settle on retarded 3 point shots. I know you disagree with me on this, but I always thought he could be twice as good if he improved his shot selection.

Can Kobe do the unthinkable and actually make two more FG's so that he'll have played a great game AND made more FG's than FT's for once in his life? Stay tuned... :D
