First time I've seen a recent picture of Al Davis. YIKES.

All I gotta say is that if the Steelers lose to the Jaguars again this year, when our line is in absolutely atrocious shape.....well I shall mock you mercilessly.

As long as we're in the playoffs then it will be fine with me.

Hey the Jags almost lost to the Steelers in the playoffs last year even though our center was garbage and we were without our only running back and missing a D-lineman whom we had no replacement for.

In the NFL nothing can surprise me.

the steelers didn't lose because of a bad center, they lost because their defense is overrated and was owned by a team who is very conservative. i always like to see people complaining about injuries or lack of talent in certain areas when every other team in the NFL has had to deal with the samething.

i dislike the stealers because their owners are crooks and break the rules but they aren't punished for it! do something goddell!

You know what's a crime? The stuff that passes for football out in the bay area, now that's criminal.

Unlike the Debartelo's, the Rooneys stick together in their gambling and dog racing debauchery!

If only Eddie's sister wasn't such a bitch, maybe the Niners could still be relevant...

No one actually cares whether or not you like the Steelers. You like the 49ers. Your taste is bad and you should feel bad.

I think decrying fandom as "taste" is probably a poor tact to take. You support your team through good times and bad!

who are you again? are you a steelers fan? and what does taste have to do with fandom? let me know who i should be a fan of, wouldn't want to have bad taste by supporting my team!

i agree :( i wish eddie was back... but the niners have always been relevant... in my heart!

i know. we are god awful this year. top 15 offense from out of nowhere, and a top 20 defense. both units were bottom 5 in the league last year. unless you're talking about the raiders, then i agree!

Fantasy Football question:

I have Chris Johnson, Ryan Grant and Ladainian Tomlinson. I'm thinking about benching LT this week. Am I crazy? He's been pretty average so far and he's got a bad toe.

a 49ers fan complaining about owners breaking the rules...

Grant is playing the tougher team and is also bugged with his hamstring injury. Keep LT in for now and wait for updates prior to the Cowboys/Packers game to make your final decision. But honestly, if LT mans up he should be able to run all day on the Jets.

Don't worry we're both going to have high draft picks.

Again.

P.S. Raiders #13 in offense, Niners #14. Raiders #18 in defense, Niners #19.

P.P.S. Raiders #2 in rushing offense, Niners #18. (Frank Gore is a pussy.)

raiders stats are inflated from playing a horrible team last week and getting garbage time yards in week 1!

we were in both of our games against good opponents! JTOwned!!

But I thought you played the Seahawks?

Does anyone else think it's nuts that because people are focusing so much on the Hochuli screw up they are forgetting that the replay equipment was broken earlier in the game? Shouldn't the NFL address that situation? That would be really easy to fix.

I see a lot of people criticizing the Eagles secondary, but besides that one long bomb to Owens I thought the secondary played great. They shut TO down in the second half. The plays that killed us were passes to the TE and RB. For that I blame the LBs. Overall though, the thing that really killed us was the lack of any sort of pressure on Romo. 0 sacks and not a whole lot of hurries that I can remember. You let a QB like Romo stand in the pocket all day and he is going to find somebody that is open, I don't care how good your secondary is.

I really wish they would have done more to improve the line this offseason. Signing Clemons was ok, but he's nothing but a 3rd and long type DE. We needed to get a stud pass rusher in here. Somone like Jared Allen. I was hoping they could have traded up in the draft to get one of the top DEs.

has clemons even played on the line yet? i only see him on special teams. why they rushed out to get him still baffles me. he had one good season, most likely a fluke season, and they signed him as if he is the answer to the pass rush problems.

And what exactly is that? Win two games in a row? I'm sure Brett Has done that at one point or another. I could be wrong, though!!

beat the cowboys and win a SB in the next 5 years

and have a passer rating over 100

You hate Farve? and your a Packers fan? for shame.

I don't hate Favre. I just think he's a big baby and has put the team up with unneeded bullshit the last few years. And I'm not even going to get into how he pretty much lost us most games of our playoff games...

Great player? Hell yeah; one of my favs. Greatest QB-ever? No. He's not even the best Packers QB.

cardinals and seahawks aren't exactly the KC chiefs. i'm not saying the cards or seahawks are superbowl caliber teams, but the Chiefs are freaking horrible. it's true we beat an injured seattle offense, but we lit their defense up and they were basically at full strength.

but whatever! we all know that on the streets respect is earned!

Listen to this man, he knows his stuff. But I'd still snap Sproles off the wire for bench/handcuff duty in case word leaks out that LT won't be getting many reps before kickoff Monday night. Either option is still better than Grant in what figures to be a shootout. I'm thinking Brandon Jackson may be the better fantasy play in Green Bay again this week.

The league owes the Chargers a game. Bottom line, they got super screwed. The game announcers and millions of people around the country can view the replay, but the dopes inside the stadium can't. And nobody from the NFL higherups can rectify that? Insane.

As for Hochuli's blunder, two things can help. 1. Shove the whistle stuff when you can look at that replay and realize that only two people had a shot at that ball and that the whistle blow meant squat in that situation. It's not rocket science. 2. Stop trying to come up with every reason under the sun for saying that a QB didn't fumble or was throwing a pass.

And the one thing that bugs the heck out of me is this. They fall back on the rule and claim that because of the rule, their hands are tied. Well, during last year's Browns/Ravens game, the rules clearly stated that field goals were NOT reviewable. Yet, because they knew how bad they screwed up, they reviewed the Browns kick and gave it to them. Yet here, they say to the Chargers, "Sorry, because of the rules, you're screwed." It's that type of inconsistency that makes the league look even more retarded.

I had you on ignore from the halo thread, but curiosity killed the cat.

I understand the idea of any given sunday, but even if miami won - you'd still look like an idiot for picking them to win.

You must be new. I always pick New England to lose.

Eh they're not the Cardinals, Seahawks or Saints. They've had quite a bit of success.

They were successful in the old style of Football. nobody plays that game anymore. Shit they didn't even have the tuck rule back then.

Exactly, I just find it nuts that the media is focusing on one mistake while completely ignoring another equally important one. If they had gotten the original fumble/TD correct, the Chargers might not have even been in that position late in the game. Why don't people care? Especially since it could be so easily rectified.

The NFL's ineptness when it comes to officiating goes all the way back to 1998.

Nothing new here.

Jerry Rice is the GOAT. I don't know what playoff game you are inferring.

Like Antonio fucking Freeman pushing off on every slant from Favre was legal.

fuck that. you owed us after the bullshit don bebe play from the monday nighter. what a joke.

p.s. nameless i first read that as Antonio Langham and had a chill go down my spine
