wow i just watched that fight again, not only did perry leave his helmet on, but he actually pulled drake's hair at one point. what a fucking girl :lol i wonder if this will make CC

I'm tired of defending this team. I've been watching the Leafs for over 30 years of my life now. Probably since I was a kid of 6 or 7 I've been a Leaf fan. In all that time the team has never had any sort of direction. First it was Harold Ballard and his ridiculous ownership, now it's a different set of clowns but same end result. I know it's only 1 loss, first game of the season blah blah, but I see the same fucking thing over and over again. Players just not good enough, coaching just not good enough, no GM, scouting crappy. I hate having to defend this team. In all the years I've watched we've only ever gotten to the conference finals 4 times. No Cup, no final appearance, nothing. How many years do fans need to suffer? How many? Fuck.

Toews + Havlat = playoff possibility?

Probably next year, those two + Kane are just going to destroy defenses.

Rutuu Toews Kane is a plain awesome line but what are the chances that all three are healthy at the same time.

Samsanov Lang Havlat sounds like a great line especially if the former two actually try but most likely Havlat will probably have to carry those two lazy bastards on his back and he too is an injury risk.

Really they should have tried to get Gagner as well in the draft, him and Kane were just incredible last season in London.

oh god :lol

who knew corey perry was such a jerkoff :lol

Im excited to finally see the Oilers play again...
but it really sucks that we have to play the Sharks in the opener :P

:lol Next time perry fights look for him to scan the ice around him for extra dropped equipment he can put on before dropping the gloves.

I love the smirkworthy irony in this picture.

just 6 or 7 manics?

i popped out and was a canucks fan.

Whatever, I can't really remember hockey games before a certain age, but I'm sure I was in front of the TV since my entire family are Leaf fans. I remember watching the old teams with Sittler, McDonald, Turnball, Salming, that was mid to late 70s.

Who hacked into your account?!

I can't believe people didn't know about Perry's shenanigans! Guy has been a legend for like a season and a half now. Canada Bias!!!

Oh, and Calder ... this one's for you. Shaw Cable bought out our local cable provider, and since they just got Centre Ice ... WOO!

Oh god tell me about it. The preview on TV was saying that Roloson is one of the few recognizable faces ... I'd say that Horc probably has the most recognizable one, but still, it is kind of sad.

Hm, I should see if someone could photoshop an Oilers logo onto my bob-omb.

well neither can i but my dad tells me i used to shutup when the canucks came on so it must mean something.

you guys enjoy your time to gloat about your teams.... The bat signal for all the Pens fans is being put out tomorrow since we have to freaking wait and suffer while the rest of the league gets going...

There are the few of us that are hardcore and have been for the longest time, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few more on the wagon this time...

This is the palpitating heart of Leaf Nation, where it's never too early to

1. plan the Stanley Cup parade route;

2. despair;

3. trade Mats Sundin on the call-in shows; and

4. fire the whole management lot.

What's changed is the motto that's painted high on the wall in the Leaf dressing room.

Perhaps that long-time rallying adage about defeat not resting lightly on these shoulders rang a little too untrue.

GM John Ferguson and Maurice came up with the new inspirational message, which appeared yesterday morning: "The price of success is hard work."

A little bland and, apparently, a re-tread.

The same slogan had hung around the dressing room during the Punch Imlach era in the '60s. Four Stanley Cup championships in that decade.

"It's 1/82nd of the NHL schedule," shrugged for-the-moment go-to guy Raycroft, who weathered cascading raspberries last season.

"At least I got one game in this year."

:lol

So uh.. TEMP

You ready to give up on the idea that Yahoo is going to be changing those Centers to Wingers yet?

i'm waiting till next week. they usually have to play a game before that happens.

i know these things. i'm pro.

PLEASE MAKE THEM MULTI POSITIONED PLEASE MAKE THEM MULTI POSITIONED PLEASE MAKE THEM MULTI POSITIONED

what the hell is this?!?

Forza go snap manics out it, before Saturday preferably. I can' t take any of this from the heart reflection of despair and suffering crap from him.

You two are all about over the top arrogance and confidence regarding your team, anything else is just not right..

Devils season opener in less than an hour. I'll be switching between this game and the Red Bulls vs. Toronto FC match but I'm excited to see this team play in a regular season game. I think Sutter will have them play a real gritty physical game like the Devils teams of the past. Tampa Bay has always been good against us but that's because we never pushed around Lecavlier and St. Louis enough.

Key to the leafs winning tonight:

Kidnap Dany Heatley.

It's the only option.

Just have Belak plow into him or something. I figure Belak is expendable enough for such a situation.

Oh they're playing "Beautiful Day" in the Sens Arena. That really gets you going!

edit: Actually it might have just been CBC. I wasn't watching. Fuck it

Why do I suddenly have a bad bad feeling about tonight's game?....like that 3 to 4 nothing Ottawa after the first period bad feeling?

:lol It's a wonderful thing isn't it.

*wipes away tear* Now I just have to get the HD box. Damn HD packages are fairly reasonable (at least not much more than the hefty digital/internet package I'm already getting) but the box itself is stupidly priced.

Way to miss a WIDE OPEN NET Kaberle!!

He tries to slap at the puck. Funny, considering he never does that. Just wrist it and you won't fan.arggggggh

1-0 Devils after the first, so far so good! After the first few minutes the aggressive forecheck really seemed to get to Tampa, Torterella keeps sending out their goon line to shake things up.

Sweet deflection by Gionta for the first of the season but I though Bergfors had #2 when he ripped that shot with seconds left in the first. Go super rookie go!
