i turned homefield off, but it doesn't take effect until week 2.

so far, 3 of 4 road teams have won. including @ alabama, @ ohio state and @ wisconsin. all are top 10 HFA

Yeah I'm starting to wonder about homefield....my very first rushing play my guy fumbles and returned for 6 points. I also got a bad call on a 3rd and goal when I scored with no review.

one thing is you can't just chuck the ball up because there seems to be some semblance of defense. you have to be careful with the ball and if you aren't eventually you're going to pay. same with defense though, you can't just recklessly blitz. the game is very fair to both sides so far (could change once we get more used to it though)

regarding the schedule, i tried to make it as fair as possible. i know there are instances where you're playing back to back road games early, have 2 bye weeks in the first 4 weeks, and other stuff. i spent like 2+ hours last night trying to get everything right. having 12 people makes it a lot more difficult than last year when we had 7 or 8 at times.

At least I figured out that the Georgia Tech playbook isn't for me. All the plays are in the flexbone formation. Time to test another next week.

some playbooks i have liked:

Boise State
San Diego State
Stanford
Texas

but it depends on your playstyle. those are all pro style playbooks and thats how i usually run stuff. if you have the balls and the offensive personnel, try out texas tech air raid! when i was looking at potential teams i checked them out and they have like 12 WR's on their roster lol

I'll look over those playbooks as soon as I have time. My defense is fine since I was able to hold the Miami offense to under 200 yards but I couldn't keep my offense on the field. I hope EA fixes the custom playbooks soon.

I like the Texas book too. If you like to run a quick offense, the Coogs have a fucking awesome book.

I wish I could experiment with books better. If only this game had a good practice mode!

i think the custom playbook issues are few and far between, but in an online dynasty game there is no way i would chance it. can you imagine you're driving down the field, inside the 10, clock ticking and you have one last play to win the game with no timeouts and your playbook comes up blank? i would nerd rage to epic proportions.

Oh, and I'm not sure what the deal is, but if someone is scrambling with a QB and you've got control of the nearest defender, do NOT let go of the defender...or he'll go drifting off to the other side of the field?

There were two plays in my game last night where I was hunting the QB down and I let go to let the CPU chase him down while I took control of someone else to cover the receiver. He was ordered on QB Spy too, but instead he would start running to the other side of the field where nothing was happening.

i noticed the DE's in the game have a contain mentality on "balanced". change your QB pressure to aggressive and that won't happen.

or stop being a pussy and letting the CPU do your work. if you were hunting down the QB yourself then finish the job motherfucker!

I couldn't find one.

EA needs to treat stadium audio more seriously. It is the same problem with Madden as well. I never feel like I'm playing in a giant stadium. Feels more like an empty lot with the lack of noise.

i think it specifies no digital distribution transactions (mp3's, movies). i'm assuming the instant code qualifies as that so you'll have to have it physically shipped to you.

or try it out and see if they let you!
