Damn, I'd be all over this if I wasn't still getting a metric ton of mileage out of my OnePlus One.
Seems like an incredible value for the price.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but can I get one of these in Canada? The quotes in the OP only mention American carriers.
I use mine on Wind without issue. Saved a bundle buying this handset and getting away from Telus. My OnePlus One investment has essentially paid for itself already.

If the battery was bigger (fill in the back so theres no fucking camera bump jfc) I'd be seriously interested in this. I mostly want my next phone upgrade to give me significantly better SoT than the 4-4.5 hours I'm getting currently.

Huawei Mate 8. I can get 7 hours sot easily.

Ordered one, my old HTC One X+ is almost 4 years old now.. reading nothing but good reviews about the OP3. Really looking forward to the unit.

I'm really thinking of ordering one. I broke my iPhone 6 during vacation two months ago and currently down own a phone, I'm borrowing a LG G3. So I'm really thinking of getting this OnePlus 3. I'm just a little worried about the camera and battery, if it can even last me a full day.

Also will it have dual-sim in all countries?

I'm thinking of making this move. Reading the thread helped. Is it unlocked by default?

Is it too much to ask for a decent 4" android phone these days? Someone needs to make an android version of the iPhone SE. Fuck all these phablets.

They're not better now because this happend to me in February 2016.
Honestly they don't give a damn and try their best to make you disappear through frustration.

For example, multiple people replied to me on the support ticket. Each different person would say the exact thing some had already said to me.

They could not even bother to read the ticket before sending me see crap.

Sucks. It's probably out of warranty at this point so no one gives a damn either.

Yes, $520 CAD, no duties, and warranty is handled by a company in Markham, Ontario.

And yeah laptop pricing sucks nowadays. The low-end isn't even that cheap ($200-300 for awful specs) and any good models will run you about $700, which is almost Surface/Macbook territory. I just want 8GB RAM, an i3, and a 1080p screen for $500.

Same here. My OPO hasn't slowed down at all and to me anyway, the camera is still more than capable.

Right now I see no need to move to anything else.

a lot of my threads involve me fucking up somehow. Perhaps I'm a moron?

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Also happy to hear you're happy with Wind. I know it's not the best, but if it's even half-tolerable it will be an enormous step up from Rogers/Bell.

I have a OPO and I feel like the battery life is poorer than it used to be plus it chugs a tiny, tiny bit.

But yes, objectively it would be a little dumb to replace it with a Three... but I want to anyways. =/

That is awesome. I'm definitely going to look into this. Being at the mercy of a telecom again won't be as bad if I don't have to pay bit by bit for the phone too.

If I had to upgrade now, I'd be all over this. But I'm still good with my G4. Maybe the OnePlus 4 with like 8 gigs lol.

Ehh, I'm in the same situation. I occasionally get annoying hiccups and restarts, but generally the OPO is still going strong nearly 2 years later. Really want this, though, so I'll probably buy.

Just bought one of these for my wife for her birthday. After watching some of the promotional videos I'm thinking it may be a bit overkill - 6 gigs of RAM?? She mainly wants a new phone for a better camera, but the videos I've seen show people playing Modern Warfare and stuff on them!

Edit:

Are there any unofficial flip covers for this?

Also, this. The Oneplus website had some for £20, but I thought that's a bit steep.

6gb of RAM on a phone is unreal! I want!

Still don't understand how iPhones run so well on so little RAM. Apple magic.

Going to wait a bit longer to see if I should grab the Nexus 6P refresh, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, or this. Huawai is not an option right now, the P9 I only could find in gold for Canadians.

As a Canadian I want my next phone to last a few years due to the exchange rate. I like reading posts here with people who have had the oneplus for a while, it's a positive. I dropped my zenfone 2 once on my bed and it stopped working :(

closed system has a lot of advantages. Consider console performance with the tiny amount of RAM that they have. (this gen is somewhat... odd though)

If you are going in with an unlocked phone, why would you be at the mercy of a telecom? Just go off contract.

I've switched back and forth between Telus and Rogers depending on which has the better deal at the time, and I just port my number with me.

to be fair ios has been struggling with multitasking for a good while on the newer versions.

probably why they bumped up to 2-4gb ram in the newer devices.

I would like some more battery life impressions, but amazingly most review sites seem to gloss over the subject with a standard 'if lasted me a day' without any sort of breakdown of what they actually did.

Oh no, it was very much in warranty.

Their 3rd party repair company tried sending me a £200 invoice with no other communication.

I had to argue a lot with them. Being polite did not help.

They would send me a link to a page with their warranty. And I would have to copy and paste the section that said I was still in the period.

They ended up replacing it after sending me back a replaced phone that had broken cameras.

2 and half months.

I just want to give the warning that if setting goes wrong expect to have to buy another phone in the mean time and have to argue your case with people that don't even read your replies before pasting some not at you.

I have the One Plus X and I would not recommend this brand. The phone itself is nice and runs ok. But the software support is abysmal, there's still no release for the latest Android version on the horizon. Even the old Moto G got Android 6 already...

Oxygen OS in general is better than TouchWiz (which OS isn't?), but it's pretty Bareilles and the camera software isn't particularly great either.

I'd go for a better known Chinese brand than One Plus.

that sucks. Reminds me of my woes of RMAing an asus laptop.

Curious if your credit card company could help. Many offer protection benefits and I've heard stories of people having success with them when warranty folks were being a pain.

Can you change oxygenOS and put a stock Android?

There will likely be hundreds of different flavors of Android available to this, including CyanogenMod which is the most popular custom Android out there. Custom ROMs will take a month or two to update to the newest Android versions though.

"Stock" as it exists on a Nexus will be achieved by building AOSP (someone will likely do that soon) and installing Gapps along with it. The main problem with this is that it won't be easy to update.

I really want to go back to Android... I currently own an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB.... Between this and the Galaxy Note 5... Which one would you guys recommend?

When I got the phone they only had the option of using PayPal, not sure if they expanded now. I'm assuming because they knew they could get out of some buyer protection.

It doesn't have a micro SD slot, does it? That's the only thing I don't like about OPO phones. Umi are bringing out the Super Edge at the end of summer which feature the same specs (Snapdragon 820, 6GB of ram and 1080P amoled screen at least, the latter with curves like the S7 Edge) for $300. They offered $70 off on pre-orders for the 4GB, Helio P10 powered phone that just launched, and they might do the same for the Edge. $230 for an equivalent phone with a micro SD slot (or dual sim) and running Android 7.0 N at the time of release... that's the one for me.

Makes sure you won't have to buy a new flagship phone in 12 months because the manufacturer purposefully crippled it by only included 1 GB.

This. I knew the 6s would get 2gb but I was on the 4s and couldn't wait another year. 1gb is annoying but not completely phone breaking. I suppose I could use the 6 for another year.
