Out of 12 or so boxes I got Rein Uprising skin in first box and a Hog base game legendary which I'll never use cos got monster skin.

I like how you posted that right after I talked about a player with 40 hours on D.Va and 5 minutes on Widowmaker who picked Widow on Numbani defense and was useless lol.
There's no denying general game skill carries over and if you know how to aim and such you can make any character work, but when I have 10-12 hours on multiple characters across all seasons I feel comfortable switching. When I saw this Widow had less than ten minutes on Widow across all seasons, I kind of knew it wasn't going to go well.
Especially when D.Va would've been a great pick for the map / dive comp they had.

Got placed at ~1700 SR, climbed my way op to ~2600 in a few days.
Last few weeks I'm in the ~2000 / 2200 bracket.
That seems about normal. You're probably set to be in around 2200-2300 area but the streak system and other nonsnese throws you around. Game quality at that range is already a bit of an issue for a number of reasons, but I hope the fact they significantly toned down the streak system helps you.
You're best bet to make games better at that elo is to learn a damage dealing flex pick btw. Zarya is the best option in that case.
I've been playing at 4k+SR and it's not quite russian roulette status, but sometimes things just happen where teams get horribly imbalanced due to the streaking system and high SR variance. once you get into the 2k-3k range with all that in mind it can be p frustrating. The new rules on matchmaking just kicked in today, but hopefully they filter out some of the issues.

All Heroes is more of a liability than going with the fixed hero mode.

3-day weekend. Had my custom controller modified past couple of days (the "custom" analog sticks are worn out...). I do miss the contrast in color, but I didn't buy it for the looks, just for the functionality! I'm ready for some OW this weekend.

So I came back to play with this even since I love PvE and I'm surprised to see so many people playing on high ground on quick play its like a whole new world, lot's doing basic pro ow stuff.
And off course when I want to learn Mei that bug happens... I just hope it doesn't take a whole month for them to fix it on console like what happened with Ironclad, never felt like a second citizen on console until this game.

I've had zero fun playing the last couple days.
I don't really care about rank, but I feel like I am much worse at the game than I was two seasons ago, even though it's a video game it sucks to get worse at something that you put hundreds of hours into.
I think I just need finals to end.

We should just accept who we are Owzers. I'm always going to be Mercy and you're always going to be Rein or maybe off tank.
It's not that you're worse it's that while you were away everyone advanced. New tactics and comps are built and new strategies and vids and lessons were built around the characters.
Everyone has either caught up or exceeded where you are at.

ive said that in the past page. first time notice it was when i tried to get the 90% payload health spray on all heroes hard mode but it didnt unlock. then notice even the hard mode didnt unlock.
basically if you on all heroes mode, dont bother anything other than normal mode. but if you want to train/get use to a specific hero then be my guess and use it on higher difficulty. otherwise if you play hard and higher, play on the vanilla mode.

Can't blame him. Pretty sure it's both less stressfull and much more profitable to stream for 10k+ people without the need to be able to perform at your peak

Lol, that's insane.
I liked Seagull because despite how easily he could 'sell out' and be a full time streamer he didnt do it and cited it was because he valued the competitive Overwatch so much as a scene. I thought that spoke volumes about him.

tbh i don't get how anyone can watch most streams with all the random shit most streamers have cluttering up the viewport, coupled with obnoxious sound effects whenever someone gives them a virtual tip
