Overwatch |OT9| There is no Cow Hero

I'm not the best person to ask. Lol

Our games were awful until yesterday and we've been doing really well since then. I definitely feel like I've turned a corner with Lucio, but it's a team thing for sure.

If you want my honest advice. Some of the randoms we play with, they are similar rank and their game sense is abysmal. Learning positioning, ult timing, ult managaement, good comps, what to run against certain comps. I think it's the most important thing.

Playing with the Gaf group isn't a very good way to climb. But it's fun, and we usually do alright. So come aboard some time :)

How do I play with this "Gaf group" you speak of? DAWGPARTY#1741

What healer would you use on attack then? I pretty much suck with every other healer. I'd much rather play a tank, but sometimes I have to suck it up and swap.

I mean there are only 4 healers, and the other 3 are almost always better on attack. Despite the recent buffs, Mercy still has a lot of issues and is still kinda not great. She just works really well either with the Pharah/Winston type comp or the heavily defensive ones. Everywhere else in the middle you can't rely on positioning and set up to keep her alive for shit without good fly points. Just learn literally any other healer for attack or start begging for Pharah.

Side note: Mercy is better on attack than defense btw because the Pharah/Winston type stuff is so good. Just, without that literally every other option is better.

Mercy sucks on defense because the picks that make her more useful are not the greatest picks for defense

Basically this. There's some merit to her here and there because certain maps let things happen or defensive dive is good, but yeah you generally save her for attack or koth when you want an all-in team comp.

Eh, at the level I'm playing at, having a healer and a tank is something to be happy about. Don't really give a shit about comp when people just want to play DPS.

Mercy is still a threat. Fuck Pharmercy.

Seriously fuck Pharmercy.

Yar if it ends June 5th then I should start sooner than I expected. Maybe no doomfist :/

Yeah next tuesday most likely.

Mercy is still a threat. Fuck Pharmercy.

Got destroyed by one yesterday on route 66. Feelsbad.

I could only have a chance if our mercy helped me a bit (no Zen or D.va, cappa switched to her in the middle part and we manage to take her down 2 or 3 times), but she couldn't even pull off a rez until the very last part of the map, so I'm not gonna ask for that kind of game sense lol

I need doomfist, eventually blizzard has to make a character I'm good with.

Orisa is still a maybe but I remember shooting 100 bullets at a soldier at range and missing all of them.

lol Overwatch is serious business.

Just saying. You were complaining about Mercy not working out, and I told you what you can do about it and why. Sorry if I seem a bit rude about it. If you don't wanna get better that's fine, just saying there's an alternative to what you're doing if you wanna get better or rank up.

I think out of all of the maps, Route 66 is the best attack torb map. It helps if you make them rage quit too cause it will happen if attack torb goes unpunished

Yeah, stuff like this is real. You usually see Soldier over Tracer on defense for this type of comp.

Tracer is everywhere these days. I have been amazed how much IDDQD has been playing her on NRG (what a waste not having him on hitscan).

Speaking of which, shame they let Enigma go. He was one of the more impressive Tracers and I would argue he was as equally valuable as Seagull.

Oh yeah, you definitely see her, especially with specialists out there, I just think I see Soldier more on defense side of maps commonly still. You got all sorts of options for DPS now that you can pick mostly anything. The "generally accepted meta pick" for defensive dive is all sorts of up there because it's actually not that common outside of pro games orz

I don't even play ranked. I was just looking for viable healers, not worried about comp.

Well I gave you the rundown on Mercy at least :p

Great Tracers can demolish a team. I always want a good Tracer on my team.

Nothin' feels better than being on a tear with Tracer - either solo-duelling every red you come across and winning, or dancing around and through a teamfight laying in to everyone and getting all the killing blows.

In my imagination maybe it feels cooler on Genji, but I'm no Genji.

Discord is great and yes, a great way to target people. I really don't like people announcing who they Discorded, tbh. I can clearly see it.

Calling out Discords clogs comms. It's obvious and you should just be putting the Orb on what your teammates are already shooting at, anyway.

The only hero they should be calling out would be Pharah since it's not as easy to see. But for anyone else? No callouts are needed.

Ana.

Attack Mercy can work but it's best to have a Pharah and Winston.

Help kept a push along in overtime, by going attack Mercy and using Rez to survive.

Probably the best game in a long time. We lost, but we got through 3 checkpoints, then they did the same, and managed to keep one on for 3 minutes. My only complaint was, I got stuck with Hog at the end. Solo'd Heal as Mercy for 2 rounds, which we did well on. And you take her from me! Then you take Winston which I used to stop their assault in the first. Q_Q

Yeah rez has helped keep up a lot of momentum in our games on attack.

but so has Nano Boost...

Mercy + Zen comps are on the rise in Korea. Solely from my games I really like Mercy + Zen. A Winston dive onto some discorded targets with a Mercy-boosted Pharah should destroy.

Oh, you guys dont like when Zen calls out discords? I never liked to and always thought it was as visible for others as it was for me until someone on my team told me that discords are not indeed as visible and that I should call them out. I typically just discord whoever they're shooting at anyways though lol. I like to get the tanks and bastion and mercy, personally.

People just aren't used to playing with Zen. He has the second lowest support pick rate behind Symmetra. The Discord is obvious af. They have a purple haze around them AND the purple orb over their head.

Discord Orb has a 0 second cooldown, actually calling out where the orb is at all times is unreasonable. Call it out if you have it on targets that aren't in obvious line of sight of the rest of your team, like flankers, but you should already be calling out flankers as a support anyway.

I'm thinking about giving OW a shot, but I have a few questions.

Since it's been out for almost a year, am I going to struggle trying to catch up, or is the progression more of individual progression?

Also how does the console version (PS4 Pro) compare to the PC version?

How bad are the communities since I tend to be more of a solo player?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated... thanks....
