A new Control map has been released (Oasis), with a 2CP one (Moon) coming up soon.
A new tank hero was released (Orisa), but she's not that great.
All of the Brawls and stuff like that have gone into the Arcade, including the new Capture the Flag and Deathmatch modes. There's now lootboxes for doing the Arcade modes, which might be interesting to you.
Arcade also has custom games and a server browser.
Symmetra got a massive overhaul.
Several balance changes to just about all the heroes.
Other than that, not really anything interesting since Sombra came out.

Now if I could just get a second healer- going Zen and solo-healing is going to kill me one of these days. Even the friend I most often Q with tells me, "I group with you so I don't have to play Lucio anymore. Thanks, and sorry." I think he's kidding. Mostly.

I somehow picked up Lucio because I got tired of being Zenyatta as the solo healer.

Well, at least the upside of DPS randoms being absolutely miserable is that I can reliably shoot down Pharah, Tracer, and Genji as Zenyatta now. Certainly no one else on my team is going to do it.
Just give me a no Volskaya option and we gucci.

Volskaya is the best 2CP map though =P
Lies >:cc I associate, maybe selectively, my most enjoyable 2CP games with Anubis. Hanamura is so-so for me.

Hanamura is trash.
Anubis is fine buy there's way less strategy on that map than Volskaya IMO especially when it comes to first point Volskaya.
I can't imagine how OP Zen must have been prelaunch.

I know some of you have alt accounts, how many games/what level do you have to be before matchmaking stops taking minutes?
Leveling up my account on PC, and it really shouldn't take 4 minutes to find a mystery heroes game. Even then, it manages to find all of the level 25 and below players and put them against people in the 100s lol

Anubis and Hanamura are far and away the most terrible maps in the game. With Anubis taking it to a new level of awfulness. Volskaya isn't great but easily best 2CP, hopefully Horizon is pretty good too.
Played 2 solo queue before the finals game. One god awful Anubis (expected) and one amazing Lijiang. I think it was one of my best Lucio games ever. My dodging was so on point, I actuslly saved the clip and I might have to see if it's worth making a video. Anyway we actually were in danger of getting reverse swept, but I hopped on mic for the fifth round and we won easily.
Got a good feeling about the after Cavs game stack.
You're probably right - most of my experiences playing these maps are with un-co. teams where wins feel neither earned from strategy nor skill
What kinds of strategies lend themselves to Volskaya that Anubis doesn't? I know Anubis doesn't have that left-flanking route but it rarely feels instrumental to victory at least at the level of play I'm used to.Volskaya no matter what side is trash
I woudn't miss it if it never came up again in comp
Throwing will remain a problem until they make a report system and actually enforce it.

started playing a lot of 1v1 arcade and even though I'm pretty bad I am having a blast doing it. People are a ton friendlier in 1 on 1 games too

Naw, they made the Zens perma-Orb the flankers then go hide in Spawn while they went about their dark work.
One step above Omnic slavery.
I atleast get why they would shy away from avoid since it was previously being abused to just dodge good players.
Though on PS4 even the system level block doesn't do anything, I've hit a couple gm/top 500 widows clearly using kb/m but still match with them.
I think it's always about picks. Personally, I don't care what people choose if they're good with them. I'll give them a chance.
after watching a bunch of gm streams i wonder how this would impact the one tricks. I hear a lot complaining about one tricks even from non gms. I know i would blocking some one tricks tbh

Enemy team tried to cancer comp us with Bastion and Rein shenanigans on Route, we returned the favor on Offense and tied their time. They did it again on their 2rd Offense and got shutdown at the first chokepoint, we did it again and won handily.

Got grouped up for comp with some pretty decent randoms on PS4 today. No throwers or ranting on mic.

Total Mayhem is my go-to mode for boxes. Haven't seen defense lose yet.

I win quite often on Offense. I love using Pharah, nobody pays attention to her and my friend plays Zarya so we constantly tag ults

The only method I found online was using a program with the Sony Nav controller. If there was a more official method, I would play PC more.

Ya, I've been noticing this, too. 2-3 minutes on my main, 4-5 minutes on my smurf.
Low level plus high MMR probably confuses the system.
