I don't envy mercy players but it drives me bat shit insane when they don't rez before dieing in crucial moments. Like sometimes it's better to rez two teammates instead of waiting to rez everyone and dieing before you even get the chance to.

On 2cp maps it's where mostly it happens the most.

Playing Mercy in QP for me is basically "how many grey hairs do you want to get today?" I do slightly better as her in comp but in the end I usually don't like to play as her unless I'm in a stack.

Haha I do it to stay sharp with her... Yeah I'm in QP but I need to get a few rounds in as her so Im ready for comp.

Was totally thrown off last night letting Lik take her for the majority of the evening.

Sigh. Anyone got any tips on learning Genji?

Yeah. I guess in those scenarios I weigh whether or not we got a pick off. If we got a pick and my Rez brings it even and I die it will probably be worth it. If my Rez makes it so we're down one I might hold off depending on time left or whether or not we have momentum.

Best case is we got the pick and I don't die after my rez making it 5 vs 4.

I have done 2 and 1 man rezzes that have helped us push btw.

Currently 5-4 in QP as her. I'll have to play with her a little more as a stack though - most of those were solo testing.

On the other hand, I'm 12-37 in QP as Mercy, so I don't think I'll be challenging you on that front any time soon.
I had a 45% QP Mercy winrate for a long time, before I "got gud" with her and turned it around to 55%. Just need practice. Probably took me at least 50 hours to get decent.

Never stop moving and always spam I need healing. Pro Genji status achieved.

Yeah I don't think I'm awful with her - I just get tired of babysitting snipers on attack with no tank. Heh. I think playing any support in QP regularly requires waaaay more patience than I have.

Eventually you'll learn to appreciate the Widow, she provides a constant backline GA target to fly to for safety.

It certainly helps to get your MMR high enough to play with Widows that can actually aim, though.

And Widows always seem so surprised and grateful when you heal them!

I feel like I'm starting to get fairly good at Orisa's shield management, but I can't quit figure out her other two moves. When should I Fortify and when should I Halt?

That's awesome. I love that you can do things like that with her ability - it separates it from just being a mini Graviton Surge.

I feel like I'm starting to get fairly good at Orisa's shield management, but I can't quit figure out her other two moves. When should I Fortify and when should I Halt?

Fortify should be saved to be used to mitigate status effects - Mei freezing/Blizzard, a Reinhardt charge, Discord, etc. or in a pinch if your shield is going down and you need an extra second or two for the cooldown to finish. The mistake is using Fortify as an offensive ability - don't run in and Fortify thinking it'll save you from enemy fire.

Halt is more interesting - you can use it for environmental kills and stuff like that, but I try to use it more to pull people from high positions or pull people in front of a shield they're hiding behind. Anything that disorients a player and disturbs a defensive position, really. Occasionally you can combo it and pull people into an ult they're trying to escape but don't save it for that since those combos are fewer and harder to pull off.

i switch to speed they be like stop using speed lulz.

right now for comp i've been switching between lucio and dva.

i also notice some support like ana doesn't want to heal. like i'm the other support and youre just going to let me die? whatever. bitch.
Lol ana was supposed to be the main healer wth guys, i know the feel but since i play on psn and there's no comunication they'll either switch or spam need healing
I think there's basically no point in playing Lucio below Diamond, if you put it on speed for a second, people will instantly tell you they need healing. It's dumb af
Funny thing, most of the teams i encounter on psn high plat either follow lucio cues extremely well of are a hopeless bunch and i gotta switch to mercy because no way they'll help me keeping alive with zen :/ if you can land shots AND heal with mercy she'll always be a better pick in solo heals/non aggresive teams

I'm encountering more people this season saying "I can't play dps." I wonder if people who have been filling as healer and tank have lost their ability to dps

One thing that irks me as Mercy is when people call out that they need heals then proceed to hide behind a wall.

1. You're probably on the other side of a battle thats to risky to get over there without being able to fly.

2. I can't heal thru walls unless I was already locked on to you.

3. The best way to gets heals is to be in a defensive position that doesn't have you cowering in a room that I can't traverse to. I know you don't want to die but it's better than you cowering and then still dying because I couldn't make it and possibly putting myself in danger.

4. Don't blame me because you decided to hide.

Just a a few thoughts for you squishy mains.

I'm so accustomed to running for health packs as Tracer, I'll zip right past our Mercy on my way to them. On the odd occasion one actually hooks up her beam to me it's such a surprise that they usually get a Thanks emote.

Yea when people come back im quick to heal them so they don't have to go to the packs. Especially DPS.

Yes...that's why I'm a bad dps...

I've been trying to get better with attack characters but so far that's just pharah and maybe reaper. But mostly pharah.

Had some good comp games last night. Close to being back to plat. Its nice to finally have an evening of postitive matches.

Heres to not going on a loss streak. Knock on wood...

So in light of HoS 2.0, OW 2.0 is right around the corner.

Does anyone think there will be a significant feature/tweak when it goes live? I mean something bigger than just another new character. Perma PvE perhaps?

My Mercy has been on point this season, I'm not sure why I ever dropped her for Lucio (I guess meta...).

17-7 On my main account
20-10-2 on my alt account

I don't mind solo rezzing if it keeps the momentum up :p. I think too many Mercy's fish for that 4-6 man rez, then get caught in something stupid and not rez anyone at a critical moment. Unless you got a minute left in the game, don't be stingy with them rezzes! The Ult builds extremely fast, I usually get mine within 1:30...

They said they are willing to include a pve mode eventually.

Waiting for Huge Rez usually means no one gets rezzed, ever. But when they come, man, it's delicious. When 2 are down and 2 more are orange/red, it's really hard not to hide and wait,though...

That's usually when I tell at my fellow GAFers to just die!

And then they don't and there's is botched.

Tho they are getting better at dying when needed! Had a game saving Rez the other day on Hanamura.

Can anyone else on PS4 confirm my current crisis in that matchmaking (specifically quick play) has become a wildly imbalanced shit show? so many matches now are including things like getting our shit pushed in on attack, a rapid increase in the number of suspiciously accurate Widowmakers with swipe like aim, Genjis/Tracers/Pharahs capable of harassing half my team borderline uncontested because they just don't seem to be able to deal with them at all.
Fuck me I even had a match where I was healer watching a bunny hopping Symettra running out of Volskaya Point B into the exterior area closer to our spawn massacre everyone in front of me while they flailed about desperately.

It's been like this for two weeks now, my friends are once again having to give the game a break because it's like an 80/20 loss ratio right now.
My last match just left me beyond salty as Hanamura point B was pretty much taking place entirely in the exterior courtyard as a Tracer and Genji just repeatedly massacred the rest of my teammates on the regular, Dragonblades every other minute. Didn't matter how many times I killed them off, they were back immediately doing the same stuff again.

I've genuinely never had less fun with this game than my last two weeks and it's not due to character balance this time around, it just seems to be a constant stream of squash matches (of course the matches I do win are basically what I just described but happening on the other side of the coin).

Pretty sure this week I saw you hide in a room asking for heals then died on my way to you. And then you let out a frustrating sigh.

Either it was you or Five.

if im alone ahead, usually i know im dead if im far ahead.
what i dont like is when the team is dead and I'm alone still fighting, usually i don't know that. Its best you call out to me saying we need to regroup or tell me our team is dead and i need to get the heck out there because usually I assume theres still a team behind me then when I notice too late, im in no position to run anymore.

If my team can't/won't deal with X, and X is what's stopping us, I'll switch and go after it. If I can only do so much and it doesn't make enough of an impact on the flow of the match, screw it, I'm duelling a better player for the rest of the match and honing my skills.

Edit: oh but yeah QP is rarely an even, fun and fair match on PS4. For weeks now actually.

For me its every1 wants to dps no one wants to heal, barely any1 seems to want to tank aswell. This is mid mid to high masters aswell.
We lose 1st or 2nd push and 1 healer or tank switches to dps feelsbad

What?

Where did they mention OW 2.0?
I'm pretty sure they haven't talked about it.

I'm always surprised when people extrapolate information like that.

Obviously the game will update over time but saying it's updating because HotS is getting an update is weird. It's like saying Hearthstone 2.0 is coming soon.

Monster Rez's are trash, unless you already know Grav or Earthstatter have been used.

Most people still think those huge Rez's are all her ult is good for and 1-2xs are wasted, but that's bullshit.

Yep that volskaya game earlier, no one wants to heal or tank so im forced to do it while enduring shitty dps players that tilt onto attack junkrat. 3.7-3.8 feels like a lottery sometimes.

Man I love it when three stacks go all DPS in comp, don't do their job and can't kill anyone for shit, then come on at the very end of a match to tell the rest of us how terrible we are. It's just great.

More or less the reason why I hate Mercy mains. All they want is play of the game instead of getting meaningful Rez's off.

So I'm a bad Mercy player in QP. I make sure never to pick her in comp, unless nobody else is on healing duty (and even then I feel more comfortable with Lucio) my problem comes from - and you're all gonna hate me for this - hoarding my Ult for 3-4 revives. I'm probably answering my own question here, but am I expected to use my ult as soon as I get it? Should I be popping em like pills in modes like KotH and be a little more conservative and time based in Escort modes?

I want to be a better person!

I use Rez a little too often tbh, but I know that's better than saving it for POTG.

It's easily one of the fastest charging Ults in the game, though, so better to use it often.

Finding the balance of when to Rez is hard. Sometimes you just have to take risks and keep your fingers crossed.

i was just goin back and forward last few days then dropped down almost to 36XX
i was forced onto heals throughout that while bad tanks and dps tilted off the earth.
i mean i play almost anything the team needs but after 6+ losses it gets tiring seeing the same mistakes

tho right now stealing SR from you brought me some good luck im almost back to season high XP
