Lightning Warp for instance benefits from it. It's a teleport that also does a small amount of lightning damage, but there's a significant delay. You can make it near instant with Reduced Duration. Can't think of any other uses off hand.I got a reduced duration time support gem and I don't have a clue what it would be used for. I don't know what abilities do damage over a certain period of time versus each hit. I'm assuming if I had something that did 100 damage over 10 seconds it would do 100 damage over 5 seconds or something?

Think when I reach level 20 or so, I'm gonna use one of my respec points to redo my skills setup. I'm not liking my witch build.
I might be wrong here, but it sounds like you think 1 respec point = complete respec. Thats not the case, 1 respec point = 1 passive skill node refund. Just want to make sure thats clear - at lvl 20 you'll have to spend 20 respec points to completely start over.
Apologies for the basic question, but I am lvl 7 with a dual-wielding Maurauder, and I see that swords are requiring DEX even though I have tons of STR. What weapon should I DW to go with my STR build?

Axes or maces
I would go mace.

Oh.
Dammit.
Don't worry, there are several quests which reward you with respec points - and they can be done again in each successive difficulty. It's usually enough for sizable modification. If all else fails though, PoE(like many ARPGs) is all about rerolling
I've lost five or six level 70+ characters, I don't think any have been directly caused by desync. I just think the existence of desync makes it an easy scapegoat - which then makes it seem like a bigger problem than it actually might be. I'm not accusing anyone of lying about how the died though, that's just silly.
Maybe I'm just lucky and my connection is stable, but the majority of my closest calls (alt+f4s) are the result of regular game mechanics, which are pretty brutal even without sync issues. If you've been playing a while, you start to develop a certain conservative play style to account for this. Of course, sometimes your brain can just go afk and RIP!
Does dex usually do ranged damage?
I did too the first time. Pretty harrowing. Came back with a much better weapon (had to grind out a level to use it) and the fight was much easier.Man, I must've wasted 15 tp scrolls during the Dominus fight.

Absolutely. Later in the game there are a host of things that can kill you very easily. I have died to Flame Golems, Reflect, chaos damage, I was one shot by Prison map Brutis. Almost every time someone on my friends list dies they blame desync. There are a few buddies of mine though that just tell it like it is and it's much more fun to discuss those kind of deaths than "oh gawd teh desync got me otherwise I'd of lived forever!"
What's a really easy build/class to play?
Neogaf pls

I can't read spaghetti though

"The true heir to Diablo is indie and free to play!"
hehe they like it
this doesn't mean that it isn't a problem when it clearly is. I had plenty if experiences where my attacks didn't seem to hit, enemies teleport, and even I teleported into a group of enemiesI've lost five or six level 70+ characters, I don't think any have been directly caused by desync. Oh man, that passive map is HUGE... Is there a rundown of abilities or something so I have things I can target? I don't want a defined build 100%, just want to know what I can go after on my ranger.

I finally run into the first exile in act one with super high elemental resistance and slow aura against my lightning witch.
I used up all my tp scroll for that stupid fight.
Desync happens a lot when I am kiting bosses, it is really annoying. Isn't there a command to resync yourself and the mob?
RIP ;\
This motherfucker. Piety was a joke, i dont think i've ever got below half health with her. Oh i had 70% lightning ;\
RIP. Is that the trap master?
Can you use traps and/or summons with ancestral bond, or only if those skills are linked to a spell totem?
Anyone able to invite to the guild? I've never been in a GAF guild before.
