Yeah, can't jump straight to specific characters apparently.

Build looks solid. Gear-wise you'll want to aim for stuff with 30%+ per resists, two resists per item if you can manage it. And since you're wearing Coil, you should obviously prioritize lightning res above all else. I would squeeze in Purity of Lightning ASAP until you get GG gear.

If you do go with that lightning coil (I wouldn't) don't forget you'll need a shit ton of lightning resist as Rufus mentioned. Since you are on standard with a pretty friendly build you can use the belly of carcass jack I gave you or one of the other bows. You should be easily way above resist capped with that jewelry I gave you.

Man I'm STILL sorting through everything. I went with the Jack chest, got it to 4 + 2 for now, which actually is perfect as it allows me to use Vaal Haste when I buy one. I'm looking forward to trying my girl out if I ever sort out my bank

Nice Carcass Jack is a good BP, its +AOE works on heralds explosions which should work out nice for that build.

With 40%ish + AOE on a cold build and Carcass Jack your herald of ice alone will one shot trash packs.

Well I finally sorted my bank, bought an increased duration and vaal haste and I'm just murdering shit, lol. It's like a different build. When I shoot stuff it actually dies! Thanks to you both for helping me out.

Once I've got to grips with this girl I definitely want a mele as well, I always try to have one mele and one ranged in aRPGs. I've seen some really fun looking builds I want to try at some point, I think I have a 63 Marauder with no skill points spent somewhere.

If you need any gear, uniques, gems, or currency in standard I have a shit ton. I can give you some stacks of exalted orbs to help you get started as well.

Same with beta, if anyone wants any currency or gear please post. I only play new leagues and delete the chars once the league is over.

RM changes aren't as bad as I thought. Last night I noticed they tweaked Disc back down to 35% and I had mana to spare running 2 heralds and disc. I can see now it opens up the ability for us to run extra auras at an early stage while freeing up the RM gem. All in all it was a good change for the overall game.

Lockstep is Friday along with a new skill, they mentioned the last 1/2 of act 4 isn't going in yet but a huge chuck of voice acting is going in.

See for me it's about just gaining wealth and gear that I keep, restarting all the time isn't for me as I'm too casual. I just want to be in a good place for the expansion.

I understand that its mainly why I play new leagues as well. But standard is fun for watching things explode to pass the time and to satisfy my inner hoarder.

I do hope the new leagues start sooner rather than later I don't want to do the flashback,2 weeks races, etc

It was worth it as a ranger, but I'm still overpowered by all other serious builds out there. I was originally very disappointed coming off the insanity of RF Flameblast (probably some of the highest DPS in the entire game). It took a while till I came to terms with it and adjusted to not one-shotting absolutely everything.

Note that this is running 78s in groups with Split Arrow; solo it's just insane.

Reflect is a huge issue too, you have to devote a ton of nodes to evade it and get more life. A TON. Once I hit 100 I'll spec glass cannon, so looking forward to that. At least until 2.0 nerfs me again.

Still enjoying the beta however I tried the flashback league for half an hour before bed and had a blast. Invasion and Nemesis were great to play again plus I got to try Rampage for the first time. I thought it was cool, and it really works well with some of the Forsaken Master challenges.

There's so much potential for the upcoming expansion to really take the game to a next level. If the desync fixes work as planned it'll be huge. Also the streamlining of areas, new leagues, and all the racing possibilities. I'd love to see a Cutthroat league pop up a month after the expansion comes out. I'd also like to see some new stuff added to Descent. Finally I hope more league features are integrated into the new leagues as well as standard. Usually I delete my characters after leagues end but I have a lv49 Kinetic Blast shadow in hardcore cruel that I plan on keeping long term.

Really the only improvement left to make is how combat feels in the early game. So many people get turned off by the feel, and quit before Brutus. Especially early level melee which doesn't really have that oomph you want combat wise.

I don't really know what the problem is for the early combat but I agree it needs improvement. Like, is it visual/audio feedback from enemies when you hit them? Is it just the way abilities feel before you get some nice support gems? Again, no idea what the problem is, but it's definitely a slog until like Act 3 normal.

Still no beta key here but I think I will just wait either way.

Actually I just checked prices and it seems that they have dropped pretty significantly. I wonder if changes to the game in 2.0 will make them less effective. I am still too lazy in standard to sell enough items to get the currency though lol.

Heh, if/when I come back to the game when 2.0 is out, I might take you up on the offer. I still don't like the smell of the reduced mana reservation on Enlighten though, the game is grindy enough already.

You'll enjoy the melee buff I've only made it to Atziri this week with my first static striker on beta but it decimated her faster than i ever have and I was only 78. I'm using 5 end charges and Vengeance with ecoms + stun + ID that along with fortify feels back to normal. Mana was adjusted again and I easily ran 3 auras I just couldn't run HoT for auto warlords mark (one reduction node and I could have)

Looking to get him to 89 probably and going to try clearing alluring abyss Sunday night.

Oh I should say, there were last minute changes, it's coming next tuesday instead. Probably along with a wipe, and a bunch new other stuff(new skills, new uniques etc).

It was the main reason I quit a year ago, I'm always around 30ms so the new system will work perfectly for me. Another thing I hated was screen clutter but once again that's fixed in beta with the awesome new scripts. Now I just need an invite...

Not yet, the first iteration is this coming Tuesday but the bug fixes alone in the beta have improved the desync in my area (SE US) by a huge amount in the beta. Im also at around 30ms now so pretty excited to try lockstep.

Started playing again after a long while (only made it to around 60 in a Nemesis league). Made a hardcore character and I'm not entirely sure why but I got surrounded in an elite's firestorm and I just melted in act 3. Stupid corrupted area. So now I'm playing standard!

Movement is way too laggy with 230 ping sadly. Will need to see how it goes in parties, and whenever the Brazil gateway comes out.

Absolutely mindblowing: there's collision detection with mobs. I mean, I know I feel it sometimes when I run into a huge pack, but you can collide into individual mobs. Feels so weird.

Edit: btw, even with this high ping... it feels like an entirely different game knowing that you're seeing what's actually happening. Everyone with low ping is going to love this.
