These people are saying they bought direct from Sony and only refunds have been offered no replacements after spending 107 dollars.

Has it happened to anyone here?

Ok? Currier issue, hardly Sony's fault. If Sony have only printed a limited amount it's not like they can ask the factory to do a few more because some have been damaged in transit.

What's the brown stuff all other the white case? Part off the envelope?

Hopefully they can send them back for a full replacement and get given a courtesy digital code whilst they wait for it's arrival.

Who is the official courier for Sony?

You'd be pissed paying that cash out to receive stuff in that condition but this is a courier responsibility.

Sony only has to answer if they've knowingly used a shite service like Evri

I imagine I wouldn't like the constituency of people who got this so that makes me quite chuffed.

Lol @neil_druckmann doesn't give a shit about this crushed box, I know that for a fact.

When this popped up in his feed, Druckmann probably wished the label on his cologard got mixed up and went to this fan's adress.

I assume it's because they want to pretend like the collectors edition is scarce to keep the scam going.

Jim Ryan sucks

Maybe Abbey was packing them.
Abbey exists in a world where a virus upended the world as we know it. She lives in a post-apocalyptic hellscape that began its life on Sept 26th, 2013 (Outbreak Day). The Playstation 4 was released in November of the same year. Meaning, that AT BEST, Abbey might be lucky enough to find some sort of prototype or early production model of a PS4 in some abandoned factory or something. Where in Jebus's name would she find Playstation 5 stuff? The suggestion that she would, in her timeline, find a Sony Exclusive Limited Edition Playstation 5 Remakestered version of a game and then somehow improperly pack it and send it across the multiverse to OP's house is laughable and insulting.

What the fuck is that yellow shit on the box? Did someone jerk off with mustard when they were packing the game?
In some cases it's been just a shitty paddy envelope that was way too small for the collectors edition and that's the yellow shit that's stuck on to the box.

Ultimately it is the fault of both parties, Sony and the courier but the responsibility lies on Sony as a consumer.

Example of shit packaging.

I would be kinda pissed and want a refund but that's about it. The number of actually good collector's edition has just gone down a bit.

The case is there to protect the contents. If the disc works it did its job and all these images do is highlight how good and effective the cases are at doing their one job.

Looks like a courier issue not really a Sony issue.
They are still giving refunds so take what you can and reorder if you really want that Firefly edition.

Such things happen with a million of items shipped around the world. So? Send it back for a replacement be done and don't drag this to your Reddit and Twitter bubble.

Someone dropped a box during shipping. Happens all the time and it's not Sony's fault.
Is this really news?
Do you you think the packaging in the tweet I showcased is up-to standard for a 100 usd edition of a game? If not, its kinda a Sony fault.

Can't get a replacement, only a refund.

Again its not that big an issue, I would move on after complaining if it happened to me. If I planned to resell it or had resold it already (like some % of those complaining), definitely would have shut the fuck up.

Am I the only one who thinks that ps5 and Jim Ryan's legacy in this generation has been a decline to the Playstation brand
Personally i think the "brand" peaked on ps2 and has been declining since.

But they're making more money than ever so i doubt they care about whatever image old timers have of them.

One bad package means nothing.
There are millions of people receiving games and other products without problem.
No point in making a drama over nothing. Just send the product back and ask for a refund or replacement.

Well then that's your option, keep it or take the refund; maybe ask for additional compensation since the item isn't available anymore (if so). I know it sucks when you're waiting eagerly for something to arrive and you have to give it away again, but sometimes you're just within that 1% with bad luck because someone did a piss poor job at packaging this item.

I receive packages all the time from Amazon in mailers like that for items just as expensive, but they almost never show up in that condition.

It's more than one person but moving on from that little tangent.

This is just a group of consumers complaining about a shit service that they receive and ultimately Sony is the company that the consumers are dealing with.

It's a issue for those people and they should have complain and twitter is a great place to complain and that's good for consumers. If you make your complaints public, obviously you are more likely to get a more beneficial outcome. That groups of consumers aren't pulling you into the conversation.

Aka why I would probably move on from it after I have gotten a refund but I understand the tactic of complaining on in a more public space.

Obviously the situation is going to vary and there is no hard and fast rule but if I was getting a broken item like that in that kind of packaging, I would be blaming both the packaging and the courier. I don't think it's upto standard for a cardboard box to come in a padded envelope like that.

I could understand the drama, if Sony or the company that is shipping those products were denying a replacement or refund.
But this is just drama for the sake of drama.
