They are in an apocalyptic world, obviously there are no objects in good condition."

Nobody gives a fuck about a packaging box.

If the case the game came in was actually damaged I'd agree with it.

I already mentioned if you could read that the rest of the shit in the box appears in good condition. Only the outer packaging is damaged.
Fuck that. I paid for the product to come in as the picture shows it. I'd return that immediately.

Sony can't be responsible for some damage courier does when jumping in the package.
But that glue is a different thing

That is the shittest looking special edition, the box looks low quality budget cardboard Like the kind a dvd multi disk set comes in. Hell I have had switch special editions come in boxes 100 times the quality of that for a fraction of the price. For how much it costs the quality is appalling. No wonder people are pissed I'd be fuming if I paid that much and was sent a crappy flimsy cardboard box inside another crappy Ill fitting box.

Oh no, there's a crease in the box! You paid $100 for a remake, and now it's all ruined because of a couple wrinkles.

How are you going to proudly display it with your other games and your toys?

In this kid's defense, the packaging is cheap as fuck. You mean Sony couldn't ship with some styrofoam peanuts?
Shit take on the situation. Well done for saying the dumbest thing I've seen on here in a while.

How many people? it's normal that some people will get damaged packages once in a while.
So MANY. Didn't read you the OP? So MANY.

Well, one, that we know of. But, still. Sony should have hamd delivered it themselves, so FedEx couldn't damage the package.

Arrogant bastards.

Boo fucking hoo.

They should reevaluate some life choices if they are buying the most expensive edition of a game they can already play on their console.

A damaged box is the least of their worries. 😅

How widespread is this? Closer to 1%? Or, closer to 10%?
This shouldn't be happening at all, especially not from Sony.

Could expect it from alischeapgaming.ru, but it should not happen from Sony.

You guys are gonna pay more for your consoles now, pay more for ps5 games and for upgrades, paying fucking 108 dollars for this edition and somehow during this you guys STILL find a way to defend their shit.

Everyone knows i ain't the target audience for PlayStation and I have no problem admitting that, but the way some of you goes down on your knees for Sony is unbelievable.

Laughing memes about xbox has no games, or Nintendo is nickle and diming their fanbase with remasters that costs 60 euro, while gladly paying over price for their console during inflation, paying for cross grade upgrades AND pay 70 euro for a game that has already been remastered once.

My post is not console warring, which it might be deleted for, but to set people with this attitude in check.

It's shameful you guys are defending Sony while customers gets an edition fucked by crappy packaging.

Making fun of people who can afford an edition you can't, and suddenly can't see why people might show their special editions on a shelf or whatever.

The bar can't go lower than this.

You can definitely blame the carrier, but for this to be some "limited" edition you'd think it'd be packed better. A small wad of PS branded tissue paper? Nah, where's the egg carton and bubble wrap?

Well, if you shop in a physical store you can avoid this. If buying online, you can always refund and replace it with a new one (if possible choosing a different company for the shipment/filling in that company a complaint).

Buit well, whatever shop sent this had to protect better the content with bubble plastic etc.

I'm not defending Sony. I am asking how widespread it is. Weird that you go to that from my question. IMO, If it is closer to 1% it is not that big of a deal. Stuff happens. If it is closer to 10% it is negligence.

I don't know how much you know about damaged packages but I'm an expert. (I actually am, I used to process damaged packages for UPS). Anyway that packaging is not up to standard - there are specific minimums for packaging that you have to meet before the carrier is at fault and those are way short. Most big companies are shit at packaging stuff though, just throw in a few of those inflated bags and done.

They just mad because now they are going to have a tough time selling them for outrageous prices on ebay like most who bought these originally intended.

Score one for the good guys!

Perhaps, but still on the carrier to deliver the package in the same condition they received it.

I've had FedEx leave packages in my driveway, in the rain, rather than walk to my covered front porch where the packages would be completely dry. I've called and complained and got all sorts of attitude. Personally, I think FedEx is a shit company these days. I'd much rather receive packages from UPS or USPS.
It's all about DHL and OnTrac. USPS will just lose the entire package. Lol

Shit take how? Because a couple people posted a pic complaining about their creased paper box?

Put your big boy pants on.
Creased? More like smashed. Products should not come like this. The box is part of the edition.

You clearly have some mental issues though, I hope you work them out as your insults make you seem like someone trying to be an Alpha yet come across as a man baby.

Oh well. At least they got a place left on the shelf for their insta collectors gamers TM account showboat

Give me a break. Not a single box pictured is "smashed". Not one. Not one picture shows damaged internals.

Not excusing Sony for their piss poor packaging, because it's bad. Actual damaged products are bad. But an imperfect game box isn't a big deal.

What the hell is up w/ the packaging inside the box? Might as well of stuck no tissue in there, the fuck is that little amount going to do? It was obviously getting tossed back & forth inside the box resulting & being easily pressed against from the outside due to poor packaging materials.

Sony is reportedly refusing to replace The Last of Us Part 1 Firefly Editions that have been damaged during shipping, even though the pricey collector's edition was only available from the company's own PlayStation Direct store.

The Last of Us Part 1 special edition features a steel case, the first four comics in the American Dreams series, as well as a bunch of in-game skins and boosts.

Given that the Firefly Edition costs $99.99 while the standard version of the game is $69.99, you'd expect that the limited collector's edition would have been securely shipped - especially as it's all sent out in a cardboard presentation pack - but dozens of players have taken to social media to complain about the quality of the packaging.

I swear I saw someone say that Sony had told them that they could get a 20% voucher on future game purchases (lmao) or could return the product.

What's the difference between returning and refunding in this case? (I'm not a native English speaker)
