Add an $80 disc drive. Can someone explain to me why the price is such a problem when it's literally only $100 more than the 2TB Xbox Series X?
You definitely need the PS5 Pro, it'll enhance the image of your avatar. What’s all this talk about it flopping harder than Concord? It’s going to be a huge hit
Yep, $100 more than their regular one they're currently selling at a loss.
But "close to twice as powerful" and 2TB.
this is great to see. restores my faith in the PS fanbase.
GAF hysteria is the best hysteria. Can someone explain to me why the price is such a problem when it's literally only $100 more than the 2TB Xbox Series X?
They did start making a profit at one point, but then again at a loss.Still selling a four year old console at a loss when it has a higher price tag than when it launched ...? It used to be that consoles would get substantially cheaper to make the longer they were on the market.
I still don't get you though.this is great to see. restores my faith in the PS fanbase.
Incredible! this shows that the $700 price tag is a minor issue and hardly a deterrence to the console fans
Pro isn't aimed at the mass market though.38K ain't jack shi*. They want to sell millions of these, not a couple thousand.
Because the $600 Series X is a terrible deal too. The 1 TB Series X has been available for $400 many times in the last year. Comparing one overpriced console to another overpriced console isn't the way...Add an $80 disc drive.
Also Euro price is totally out of whack being about 100 euros overpriced even when considering taxes between US and Euro VAT.
So 48000 clowns are gonna buy it?
Except on PC you have backwards compatibility with whatever you want, emulation, free online and cheaper games.Price seems fine, doesn't seem like you could get an equivalent PC any cheaper.
I was looking forward to it. You have read my posts in the other thread for months. I even would’ve paid $700 for a disc version. I would’ve bitched about it but still bought it. Not including disc drive is frankly insulting and charging $80 for it basically makes this a $800 console. Not showing any new games for it after skipping e3 is also completely out of touch. It shows that Sony is exactly everything i have been warning you all about, and I’m glad more and more people are starting to see how far this company has fallen.GAF hysteria is the best hysteria.

World's pretty messed up atm.
I still don't get you though.
You're a graphics whore, constantly bitching about every aspect of modes on Consoles in an hardcore anal manner way past the point of obsession, and regularly spend thousands on PC as well.
What did you want from PS5 Pro exactly? A cheaper one?
You're not satisfied with the promise of Fidelity Modes at 60fps?
Or maybe people still haven't caught up with reality where prices all around are rising because the economy is just shit post-covid.I was looking forward to it. Exactly this. I don't why people are confused.Price seems fine, doesn't seem like you could get an equivalent PC any cheaper.
Well, let's ignore it being the most expensive PlayStation console ever made. Let's also add in the disc drive and stand, so it's at least actually comparable, and now you have an USD$199.00 price difference to the most expensive competitor SKU, and a USD$299.00 price difference to the base console. And what does that USD$300 difference buy you? A curated list of PS4 games with higher frame rates, it seems. In terms of reveals, marketing, and value propositions, this is one of the worst in recent times. The PS4 Pro made its case pretty well. The PS5 Pro? Not so much. Can someone explain to me why the price is such a problem when it's literally only $100 more than the 2TB Xbox Series X?

Isn't there a showcase next week devoted to new games?I was looking forward to it. You have read my posts in the other thread for months. I even would’ve paid $700 for a disc version. Well the push for digital is clear, and under this lens a 2TB obviously makes more sense than an included disc drive.Nobody asked for 2TB standard. Most people would have just moved their added SSD from their base PS5, or picked up a deal at Black Friday sales.
Love that show. I’m still shook from that reveal.
I think we’re getting PS Portal reveal all over again. Are people liking the price? No, of course not. Pro is expensive.
Will people upgrade? Yeah, most definitely. Pro will be in constant backorder for months regardless of YouTube dislikes. Even more so close to GTA VI launch.
PS4 Pro was around 14-16% of the PS4 userbase so I think it will be slightly understocked regardless. They’ll have much bigger expectations for the PS5 Pro. The volume will be there.
Well, devices which only receive threadbare support tend to flop. They are trying to recoup the losses from PSVR2 flopping.
This thing should be 599 max.
Can someone explain to me why the price is such a problem when it's literally only $100 more than the 2TB Xbox Series X?
How isn't a promised 30fps to 60fps Fidelity Mode not a major boost though? The value proposition is nowhere near good enough for that price. Minimal upgrades, zero games that require it to run... its a largely pointless piece of kit, given where we are in the generation.
No one would be complaining if it provided a major boost to the gaming experience.
It fucking doesn't. At all.
How isn't a promised 30fps to 60fps Fidelity Mode not a major boost though?
I've been told multiple times here it would have been impossible and extremely foolish to hope for.
You have to compare that with 2017-2020 when both consoles were out. Don't know the numbers, but should be >25%. I would be surprised if the PS5 Pro hits 10%.PS4 Pro was around 14-16% of the PS4 userbase so I think it will be slightly understocked regardless.
Along with 2tb and wi-fi 7.How isn't a promised 30fps to 60fps Fidelity Mode not a major boost though?
It never was near that number. As entrhusiast forum we're kinda skewed and we're buying better kits sooner than later, but broad consumer was more than happy with his base PS4 slim and a lot of people are still happy with it.but should be >25%.
