PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale |OT| Use Supers to Smash your Bros!

Oddly enough, the glitches are the least of my worries right now. Spam city + no decay in AP gain is just bad all around. The game practically encourages this. Whenever I reply to salty messages, we both eventually come to the agreement that the game's flawed. Never have I been so chill with hate mail senders.

Yeah, that's the reason why I am concerned about patches. It annoyed me that they were talking about DLC characters, and they should focus on fixing the problems.

Also I am going to bump the argument in new page, if anyone actually care.
I might sound like salty. I think I am with wasting my money on this game.

I have been trying to force myself to play more but I have huge issues with the game and it just made me want the game to fail so bad. I don't think superbots deserve the money because they just made game with lousy single players contents, glitchy online, and unbalanced game.

I think it's really sad because I think they just nailed it with battle system and characters' movesets. 2 vs 2 is hella fun, but that's only thing that they had for the game. They should listen to people who played the beta, and they asked them to fix glitchy online. They didn't, and the problems still existed in the game. I am tired of frustrating myself with invisible opponents, random disconnects, wrong characters, and etc. Did they ever hired any beta-testers, if they did then they did awful job. They should fire them and replace them with better players that are more knowledge of the game for Sequel. There are many more but you already heard it from other people here.

I don't think they are going to patch it anytime soon.

I'm not trying to be salty, it's pretty pathetic though... how have they not addressed these issues? I've played 3 games and every single one had a game breaking glitch.
 
Both Playstation All Stars and Twisted Metal have online problems.

Both games were backed by... Sony Santa Monica.

Were they responsible for the netcode I wonder. How was Starhawk online?
 
You'd think, if there's anyone who knows about the importance of keeping the community informed about what they're working on and how they're going to respond to their concerns, it would be Seth Killian...

Unless Kat, the random game glowy-hand dude with angry look on his face, and the yet unannounced DLC characters are actually all they're working on. But I really hope that's not true.

And don't get me wrong, I've had a ton of fun with the game and still am. I think despite its shortcomings it's a great game. But it definitely has the potential to be truly awesome, and it would be such a shame to see this potential wasted due to glitches and easily fixable balance changes (although yeah, the game is young, so maybe I should just say 'change' since Sackboy's Lv3 is the only thing that's really bugging me right now balance-wise. On the other hand, it wouldn't hurt to try and buff some of the weaker characters like Sir Dan and Jak too).

I really hope both the game and the DLC sell really well and that Sony realizes how big of a system seller this is for Vita (there is quite a lot of people who bought Vita because of this combined with PS+, myself included). With continued support this game could grow a great community and provide entertainment many months.

Problem is that Superbots is the studio that made the game, unless you meant their servers are at Santa Monica Studio? (Yes, I'm aware that group of developers and workers came from Santa Monica that formed Superbots. if I remembered correctly. They should learned from their mistakes, right?)

Obviously I'm just speculating. Both Superbot and Eat Sleep Play (Twisted Metal devs) were helped by SSM in making the games, which is why you see their logo when booting the game.

Again this is just pure speculation.

I just don't understand how most of the glitches even happened. I mean there are certain lag things that I can understand, like teleporting characters or getting hit by attacks that you clearly blocked on your end.

But disappearing characters? Not respawning? Making you use a different character than you picked? Certain moves breaking the game sometimes? How? How do these even happen?

Yeah, I've run into all of those except the game-breaking-moves thing at one point or another, especially the invisible character glitches. Kind of surprised so many of these got through. I'm holding out for a netcode patch though, and Superbot indicated they plan on doing so.

What moves have been breaking people's games? Is that a consistent thing?

Exactly, and I don't understand why they didn't fixed it when we experienced those glitches in Beta. They announced the delay, which lead me to think they actually trying to work on it. I was dead wrong.

Had a Sackboy's level 2 make everyone but Sackboy unresponsive once. Also had to drop out of a game because someone's level 3 stopped the clock and glitched out, though I can't remember who.

I'm just basing that of off them saying as much in interviews. Not gonna go digging right now, but Omar, Seth, etc. went on record saying balance/bugfixes post-launch would happen. I don't really look at twitter though, so I dunno about more recently.

Wow, that's...a problem.
 
Sackboy's lvl 3 super isn't too bad when you don't consider it in isolation. Sackboy doesn't build meter very quickly if you play against him properly. Whatever extra kills he gets from lvl 3 are offset by how efficiently some characters can build meter and connect lvl 1 or 2 supers.

Well, SSM has a whole studio dedicated to helping other studios games. so you see their logo all over the place.

I see your point, but Sony has had online issues with every single one of their games, from Resistance 1 onwards. It's hardly just a SSM-related thing.
 
question. i bought the game on ps3 for cross buy. I pre ordered the game for the dlc costume code. This dlc isnt cloud saved? I have the costume on vita on which i used the code on but now its impossible for me to have the costume on ps3?

Never had the problem before, but suddenly it's consantly happening. >(

You should have got two separate downloads for the costumes in your download list, one for PS3, one for Vita.

Yea I had this problem too when I was playing yesterday. It took me a few minutes to get into a match compared to a few seconds before. I'd get "opponent found" and noises if theyre using a microphone but it'll always disconnect.
 
See, I think that the inherent problem with this game is that it suffers from Complacent Gaming Syndrome. Why choose a cool, unique character when there's a handful (Raiden, Sackboy and Kratos) that do what everyone else can do only better? Perhaps we should incorporate a draft into the next tournament to add some variety to the character choices.

Just let people use who they like, if it's 2v2 and you want variety just make it so you can't have two of the same characters on a team. There will always be popular characters and there will always be the not so popular character specialist
 
Often have 2 bugs. I pics my character and i play with somebody else .... Wtf?
And some time i cant respawn.
 
I've gotten into a match where everyone turned invisible after a level 3 super went off.

It was, strange.

Couple of connecting problems.

Or picking Raiden and ending up as spike, or picking evil cole and ending up as Mishima.


It doesn't annoy me as much as the content of this game though. I wish there was a bit more, but right now its looking like brawl and its already getting stale after a week. 2vs2 and FFA is still fun and good for pickup and play, but I can't imagine myself playing this longterm with such limited content. I still have my vita version, and the pickup and play works much better on that than my ps3 is what I mean. My friends and my brother is busy, leaving couch co-op out of the option for a month. They are all interested in playing it though, but I'd rather sell it now to get a quick buck, put the preorder money towards either sly 4 or buy P4:golden and buy back the PS3 version of All-stars later when its cheaper.

Hopefully they will fix the preorder code error (speaking of which does anyone have any idea if they plan on even fixing that, or is the retail/crossbuy vita version costumeless forever?).
 
It is so weird hearing these disconnect and online issues, because myself and everyone I know have had hardly any issues and all praise the netcode. Sure I have been thrown into the match as someone else once or twice, but once in match it worked great. I have also had matches lose host connection, which I assume because the host is no more.

I have more patience for these type of things. I have played online games that were nearly completely broken online for months after release. Battlefield 3 being the last one I slogged through. At least with this game I can play flawless matches 90% of the time.

Mines are noticeable more common on the PS3 than the vita. Vita has been working flawlessly for me, which is strange.

Most of the matches work 90% of the time, I agree. But the PS3 has a longer delay connecting online than the vita.

I like the PS3 version more on sound and the fact I can use preorder costumes, but the vita version is stable.
 
I've only had one glitch so far, couldn't respawn after being taken out by a Parappa Lvl 3. I've been mostly playing offline with my brother and friends though. Too many rage quitters online as usual.

Still, pretty sad that so many glitches got by. Even after beta feedback and a Day 1 patch.
