Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

I've always imagined that Pikachu would look like this but stylized.

Zoroark is a bit "TO THE XTREME" but Zoroa is a really cool design. I can't wait for more information to be released, and it better be good info about gameplay innovations instead of "zomg new pokemanz."

What, really? Zoroa looks too much like Shinx to me.

Zoroark fan community is in a strange state at the moment . . .

Fans can't seem to agree on if it looks like a "her" or a "he". :lol
Unlike Lucario it has the chest puffs. So it effectively has "breast" looking fur, giving it the "hour glass" look.

Hey, I'd take the Roger Rabbit route over trying and epic failing to make the Pokemon into real-life creatures.
They would have to get some REALLY GOOD animators for that.

And when I say really good I mean REALLY GOOD, not those people they send the movies off to. Maybe the WB animators (arnt they doing a new Roger Rabbit movie?)

I agree that Zoroa doesn't look as good but that mostly from the common cute-ish shape.

Pikachu probably has a very soft, short coat of fur. We know he has fur because of the other Pikachus that have messy hair on their heads.

Just to weigh in on the whole "Wah wah, fire, dark, dragon and steel types are too rare! Wah Wah!". Let me tell you something: Game Freak primarily make the Pokemon games to cater to kids. This means that they can't go overboard with types that kids will consider "cool" and use above all else, nor can they allow these to become overpowered lest they completely break the game. Kids LOVE fire types - they seem destructive and powerful. Kids LOVE dark types - they seem naughty and subversive. Kids LOVE dragon types - they have an aura of magic and mystery. Kids LOVE steel types - they seem invulnerable and strong. All of them make kids feel like they're rebelling against their parent's values just a little.

That's why there are so many water types and why Pikachu and Raichu are so damn underpowered and Charizard was neutered - not making them that way would break the multiplayer part of the game and discourage kids who don't like what these types represent from joining in on the fun. What you people should be clamouring for are more pure bug, ice, flying and plant types worth a damn.

He made a great addition in my team until I ran into the above....

Why would Drapion be troubled by ice?
Oh sorry. It's ground that's 4x damage. Everyone has earthquake, so that's 4x damage to him.

been so long since i've played Pearl. forgotten my type chart.

Makes sense that it's a fox (kitsune in Japanese legend state that foxes are very good at tricking people with illusions.)

I really lime his design though, looks badass. Guess it isn't a legendary though.

I call . . . BULL SHIT!

Theres a HUGE difference between "keeping fire/ dark/ steel/ dragon types rare" and making damn near EVERY new Fire Pokemon complete shit out of the hand full of Fire Pokemon added. Just look at the 4th gen . . . I can't think of any new line of Fire Pokemon other then the Fire Ass chimp that bites Blazikan's style by being yet another Fire/ Fighting type. What else did we get? A evolution in the form of Magmortar? And legendary? Thats it? Nothing else?

If kids LIKE these types then why shouldn't they get better representation then they currently are? Why can't they make a few "cool" water Pokemon that kids will love instead of stuffing the game full of shitty, useless ones? Why can't Fire get a few cool additions and be left at that instead of getting the forced fire starter along with . . . nothing else but a evolv and a legendary?

Yes, there are whore types that most never are represented in their pure form . . . Dark is like that (only 5 currently in the game that aren't part something. 7 adding these new ones) and Steel is to (only 2 . . .and ones a legendary. I want a fucking Mawile evolve!)

I don't care if their "rare", I'm just want them to BE there in some form other then starters and legendaries and shitty thingamajigs. What, they can't add, say, 2 full lines of "cool" fire Pokemon without risking them being over used or over powering? Is flooding the game with weak/ shitty water Pokemon gonna change anything?

Swampert biaaaaaatch.

D/P gave us a mixed bag. Some needed evo's and cool new poke's, but a shitton of crap like a mew trio and a bunch of legendaries none of us will use in competitive play.

Should starters even be counted in any of this? They are forced to make them at least SOMEWHAT appealing and useful as long as they try to keep the fire/grass/water starter face off.
JUST looked around abit . .
Of all seventeen types, the Water-type is the most abundant, with 92 Pokémon species being Water-type, nearly 19% of the entire known National Pokédex.

By no means does that line of Pokemon make the shit tons of lame water Pokemon anything more then a over represented type.

Hopefully gen 5 will change more in terms of gameplay than give us a new starter trio of different types.

That should be a starting point, though.

Oh my, I wasn't aware we were so adamant about our types and rarity here. Also children capacity shouldn't be given little credhttp://www.neogaf.com/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=19733919it in terms of processing the above. I know at work more time than I can count kids have impressed me with their in game know how with type stats and weaknesses.

I think a young man all but disregarded my hypothetical of how wifi ready my team of Swampert, Spiritomb, Garchomp, Exploud, Drapion, & Medicham was at that point. He hurt my feelings a bit....

HGSS will probably be the peak of the original formula.
Can't wait for some actual change. (I know they've made a lot of additions, and slight changes, but there's a lot they could do with it still being 100% Pokémon.)

Regarding legendaries: back when there was only Mewtwo I thought it was all good and comprehensible. Born in a laboratory...That's cool! I took it a step further with mine when I exploited the MissingNo glitch and fet Mewtwo with countless upgrades. :D (Not the leveling ones, though.)

I agree. I think they made it a point to add in ever single feature from ever past game because they are going to do something very different this time.

I'm not talking about the competitive metagame, dude. I'm talking about kids. Kids are more likely to play with their favourites no matter what. If popular favourites just happen to be overpowered (let's assume Houndoom wasn't made of glass), it means that kids who don't have a specific counter to it won't have any fun because a LOT of kids used to use it back in the GSC days.

Also, the "filler" monsters exist to give players who take the time to find and raise something good (Milotic/Gyarados/Tyranitar etc.) a sense of reward. In short, the crap makes the gold more special. A lot of kids will never even see a wild Feebas or work out where to catch Dratini, let alone do what's required to raise them properly.

The games are balanced so that kids can play and enjoy them. Not for you.

Dark isn't weak to ground. He does take double from Earthquake, but he has no 4x weaknesses and ground is his only 2x weakness.

You're saying that there aren't more awesome fire types like Charizard because otherwise some kid will come along with 6 Charizards and destroy some other kid's team of Pikachu and Diglett? Yet they accidentally left a Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina laying right in the path of the main storyline?

I'm not talking competitive . . . oh no, I'm not a competitive Pokemon player by any means. 0_o
I use all my Pokemon knowledge to Shiny Hunt. I'm just a guy who likes even and fair coverage of types.

They should try to MAKE popular Pokemon to counter these "fan favorite" popular Pokemon that get over used. The answer isn't to flood the games with shitty Water Pokemon (Like I said, 92 Pokemon species being Water-type, nearly 19%-20% of all of them) . . . its to make water Pokemon that fans will jump all over because their "cool". The answer isn't to simply STOP making new lines of fire Pokemon either or to make most fire Pokemon the kind thats not worth 2 shits.

We are just asking for more Pokemon in some under-repped types instead of the overwhelming amount of shitty Water Pokemon. How broken they are is COMPLETELY up to the devs.

ALL the kids would have access to the legendaries, don't forget. A legendary is its own counter. A kid's typical team in the RBY days was:

Charizard
Pikachu
Snorlax
Mewtwo
Zapdos/Moltres
Alakazam/Gengar

EVERY kid had Mewtwo on their team.

I just checked my Emerald save, I have 3 water Pokémon on my team :lol .
I also realized how used to the DPPt graphics I was. It looks so flat.

Using Alakazam was the shit back on the days.

And I think Blastoise was more used than the rest. Mostly because of the advantage on the first gym and so.

That and the entire evolutionary line of squirtle was pimp.

Loves me some wartortle.

Edit: Also, this generation will be another failure to me if Farfetch'd does not finally get an evolution.

Word. I used to dread a psybeam and psychic coming off those things. Come FRLG, I bred an elemental-punching Alakazam, but it just wasn't the same. The physical/special split in DP completely nerfed that moveset though.
