If Pennsylvania were really that close you'd think we'd see more action there from the two campaigns. Internal polling must have it pretty solid.

Oh but it would be hilarious to see his fat ass in the ring with a skinny little vegan and them going at it. I'd pay to see that.

I would be amused to hear him say "Well, I don't really know much about fighting, but here's what I think" right before he throws every punch.

It's a shame that neither GWB or Palin are showing their faces these days. They'd do wonders for young, uninspired voters.

Man, Fox grinds my gears:

New Obama ad says Romney would ban abortion, but omits key quote

President Obama's newest campaign ad shows challenger Mitt Romney saying he'd "be delighted" to sign a bill banning abortion.

But the 30-second spot takes Romney out of context. Romney did say during a debate in 2007 that he'd sign such a bill. But what he said afterward -- that a federal abortion ban is "not where America is today" -- was left out of the ad.

So why would you be delighted to sign a bill banning all abortion if you knew America doesn't want it? I guess it would be more like " I'd be happy to live in a country that would be for banning abortion, and when that is i'd sign the bill"

In the world of Politifact, answering True and False on a test gets you 50% credit.

The only time that i will watch fox news is when Obama is declared president for a second term. I will enjoy those sweet sweet tears

Spec is on the short list of my favorite Poligaffers. He's followed American politics longer than a good portion of the people here which gives him a certain sense of perspective, he's also willing to be an occasional ass in just the way I find refreshing.

I hope I'm on my new cable provider by Election Day just because part of my election night drinking party is going to focus on what comedy we can glean from Fox News

Despite leaning right, Rasmussen seems like a very precise poll. Add 2-3 to the Dem side and it's consistently within 2 points of the national average.

Man it feels so good to have things looking great again. Of course all the extreme conservatives I know have convinced themselves the popular vote matter somehow, so it's going to be really funny to watch an electoral smash.

Who would be more shocked if their guy loses: Republicans or Democrats? I can think of arguments for both.

I think Democrats especially since the polling would prove to be meaningless. On the other hand, there are some extreme people who have convinced themselves the country hates the socialist Kenyan in the white house and will be in complete shock if he wins

democrats have polls in their favor. if every sign for the election turns out to be false, democrats will definitely be shocked, especially if obama brings it for round 3.

republicans (i use this term loosely) live in their own world where they might as well be where democrats are right now, except they're more of a black-and-white worldview where they believe their guy of pure good will defeat the other guy of pure evil. having that shattered is going to destroy some people.

Glad I decided to buy Intrade stocks at $6.26. It's probably about to shoot up and that's the lowest price I was going to get considering I just got more funds in. Of course considering how the last 5 times I said that, Obama stock crashed...

Anyone know anything about the Iowa Electronic Market? It's a US prediction market- not sure why people don't use it instead of Intrade?

They should have learned that after Obama won the first time. Bush winning reelection showed most Democrats that anything could happen no matter how terrible the other candidate was.

Hmmmm... I think those so deep in their bubbles that they follow Unskewed Polls will probably be the most shocked by virtue of already being insulated against facts that contradict their world view. I'd like to think if something were to shift the balance toward Romney, PoliGAF would at least be cogniscent of the altered dynamic and an Obama loss wouldn't be a surprise so much as a crushing disappointment. Rank and file folks who don't hang on every poll tweet would probably be blindsided though...

Lot of Republicans (especially those in the south) think there's absolutely no way Romney can lose

they truly believe it'll be a landslide

I think most republicans think it will be a landslide. My dad is almost convinced of this, I try to explain that he has a tough electoral map but he doesn't care. He is absolutely convinced Romney will win in an epic landslide.

If I weighted my poll by hand differently every single day, my poll would be near the national average too.
