so chuck todd just said the hispanic entrance poll numbers would be a giant upset (in bernies favor) if they pan out -- and then didn't give any numbers. wtf

Hillary killed it at Caesars and the other casinos

I wouldn't call winning the popular vote in 2000 getting 'rekt'.
I don't even know what you're getting at by responding to my post with this. Did you misunderstand my post?
A loss is a loss.

or Obama a particularly "non-regular" candidate, unless we're speaking in CODES

You seriously saying that a black man called barack hussein obama running on hope and change in the united states is a regular candidate? That man is exceptional in every single regard.

No, obama is not a regular candidate. He was an exceptional candidate.

If that's what you take from 2004 and 2000 your completely wrong.

And you really think radical leftists will win on the local level? The fact this even has to be argued is frankly insane

If that's what you took from my line, you're completely wrong. Running a standard candidate isn't some panacea, and it can backfire. As it has. Repeatedly. In recent history.

As for what will work on the local level, that depends on the location. As usual. Either way, dem picks have been horrendous in that regard as of late.

What is Bernie's position on immigration? I'd expect pro-deportation considering his working-class focus and protectionism advocacy.

Went out for lunch. Trump signs EVERYWHERE in SC. Also saw two Rubio signs sandwiched by Trump signs.

If only he could win through nothing but signs.

I am just catching up. Would be so interesting to see this numbers come into reality.

I'm not putting to much stock in those. I can't imagine they had too many Spanish speakers. And again younger ones tend bernie

The idea that Obama was some sort of "outsider" candidate is insane.

He had been groomed to eventually run for years.

The party was looking at him once he started wrecking face in 2004. But he didn't decide for presidency until 2006 at the earliest (I have a "Obama 2006" button from the party, lol). But once he gave that speech, the party knew they had a superstar on their hands.

After that speech everyone knew it was only a matter of time.

And once they knew he could win then he gained backing from the big bad establishment types like Ted Kennedy.

Great orator. Establishment backing. Pragmatic.

Needs some fibre.

You should look up 84 and 88 if you want to what rekt looks like. It's also a good example of what happens when you go too far left for the country.
No let's pretend winning more votes after 8 years in office is getting wrecked because an uncommonly popular president who couldn't run had high approval ratings

And who, pray tell, argued that going far left is the solution?

No, lets pretend that democrats didn't horrendously fuck up before when going for the safest choice.

It really helped that the US senate race in IL completely went out the window after Ryan screwed the GOP on his way out, lol.

Remember, Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) is responsible for Barack Obama becoming president :D

A matter of timing over Reagan versus Mondale in 1984, really. Inflation and unemployment were killer high so Reagan got in with some light treason to help out in Iran, plus wrecked Carter in the last debate. Then Volcker nuked wage growth so inflation was under control in time for re-election.

1988 was Atwater murdering Dukakis, a different Dem could have done better if they were nasty ( "vote for Cuomo not the Homo" if better executed comes to mind for a tougher liberal, if still not great at campaigning overall).

This whole argument is about Sanders.

And to the second, who would have done better. You know Democrats aren't the only ones who vote.

Yeah, the one of the guys who lost to Dukakis would have totally done better in the general. The #2 Dem in the primary that year? Jesse Jackson. There's nothing Atwater could have done against that guy. Third was Al Gore, the guy who got 'rekt' by winning the popular vote.
