Anecdotal story, but I live in a Republican county in Ohio. Very, very Republican. All elected offices save one held by the GOP (and that one is non-partisan since it's a judicial one), the party decides who gets to run (and therefore, hold office), etc.
For all Trump claims to have a good GOTV game, for all he claims to be doing everything he can to win Ohio ... we have only been graced with Donald Jr. from the campaign. For about 20 minutes. That's all.
Hillary's had numerous people come through town, including Anne Holton. And for the first time in the 6 years I've been living here, I had someone show up at my front door asking if I'd voted yet. It was someone from the Clinton campaign.
I've gotten tons of political mail, and it's 90-95% Clinton/Democratic Party stuff. I think maybe one thing from Trump and the RNC. They're targeting this county, a county they lost in the primary, really hard.
In the end, they won't win this county. They might even lose here by 30 or 40 points. But they swung for the fences and treated us like we mattered. And if they can siphon off enough votes in these Republican counties, they might just pull the damn thing off without having to lean solely on the big cities.
